Every nail shop I come across keeps disappointing. So this time I decided to give up acrylics and just get a regular manicure. The clean up part of the manicure went well. The paint job is very pretty. My problem is the shape of my nails and the price. Maybe I'm just used to my old tech, but $30 is what I've paid for a full set of acrylics with gel polish for a long time. So, getting charged that for a simple manicure (and I do mean simple, my hands were in cold water for maybe 2 minutes each before the cuticle cleaning started and there was no other treatment done besides cuticle cleaning and buffing) what I've previously paid for a full blown acrylic set threw me off. I did get gel polish, but is that how much people are charging now for gel? Also my bails all look crooked. Like little Gumby's on my fingers. I guess I didn't look close enough before leaving. All in all, I think it's time I give up and just buy some nail polish to do my own nails at home.

It made me very uncomfortable. On top of that, she would talk to her coworker and laugh while looking directly at me, which felt very disrespectful. The service itself was also terrible. I asked for a very simple set -- short black French tips -- but the work was poorly done. In the picture you can clearly see that the polish isn't even finished on one of the nails. When I pointed it out, she laughed and told me to wait for her to finish, but she never actually fixed it and left the nail unpolished. Their check-in sheet is helpful, offering a clear way to communicate your needs. Plus, they provide complimentary beverages--I went for champagne! However, the gel pedi was just okay. The nail tech didn't invest much time, and the foot massage wasn't enjoyable; it even hurt a bit due to lack of effort! The gel mani was mid too. Some nails had lopsided polish near the cuticle, and I discovered a cut on my finger afterward, which started stinging after leaving! The nail tech also made awkward jokes about me dating the receptionist, causing me to be very uncomfortable. Me gel mani started chipping after just a week whereas I've had gel manis last over two months. My gel pedi is still going strong though! It was quick and easy like I needed, but I won't be back.
