Extremely disappointing experience with Eddie's Guitars…read more I purchased a Collings 002H-T from them for $6,500 and even provided my own fully insured UPS label to help facilitate the deal and save the shop money on shipping. UPS unfortunately lost the package for nearly two weeks before it finally arrived. While the shipping delay itself was not Eddie's fault, the guitar arrived in poor condition, including heavily rusted strings and setup issues severe enough to make the instrument hard to play. During the period the guitar was lost in transit, Eddie's reduced the advertised price of the exact same guitar by nearly $400. I contacted the shop immediately after finally receiving the instrument and asked for what I believed was a very reasonable resolution: either honor the newly advertised price or allow me to return the guitar and repurchase it at the current listed price. Instead, I was told I was outside the return window because of the shipping timeline, despite the fact that I had effectively just received the instrument due to the UPS delay. After escalating the matter to the owner, I was told the lower-priced guitar was "used" and therefore not comparable, despite the listing on Eddie's own website clearly advertising the instrument as "NEW" and "1 in stock." The only resolution offered was to exchange my guitar for the supposedly "used" one without a warranty, while simultaneously representing that same instrument publicly as new inventory on their website. For a dealer positioning itself as a premium boutique guitar shop, this level of customer service and inconsistency was extremely disappointing. I cannot recommend doing business with them based on my experience.

I just bought the Alvarez AG60CE back in January, through Guitar Center, who told me that since I…read moredidn't buy their warranty for this brand new guitar, I had to go to the Alvarez distributor in the country, in St. Louis to have it fixed The problem is, Alvarez is a shitty Guitar, banking on big names like LR Baggs to sell their garbage. The L.R. Baggs electronics were completely shot on this guitar... Even the tuner didn't work. They said they would fix it for me, but I had to pay the $160.01 to ship it to them, first. That's right. Alvarez built me a defective guitar, then made me pay an additional 40% of the price of the guitar to fix their own mistake. If anyone really wants an Alvarez guitar, I highly recommend buying a used one. I wonder how long L.R. Baggs is willing to take a hit in allowing the Alvarez brand to cost them money before pulling out themselves.

Crestwood's Guitar Center is always a great stop for any musician--whether you're just getting…read morestarted or been playing for years. The staff here actually know their stuff and take the time to help you find what you need without being pushy. I came in to check out a few guitars and left with way more knowledge (and inspiration) than I expected. The store's clean, well-organized, and the vibe is super laid back. You can actually try out instruments without feeling rushed, and they've got a great selection of gear--from guitars and amps to cables, pedals, and accessories. Big shoutout to the crew for being patient and genuinely helpful. Always a good experience here!
