I do not typically write negative reviews, as I strongly believe in giving individuals and…read morebusinesses the benefit of the doubt. However, the experience I encountered during a recent property viewing was so concerning that I feel obligated to share it for the benefit of prospective clients. My partner and I were searching for our third home and had spent the day attending several open houses. This property was our final stop. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait outside because only one party was permitted inside at a time, which we completely understood and respected. When it was our turn to enter, the agent opened the door and immediately instructed us, in a demanding tone, to come inside quickly. At the time, I assumed this urgency was related to preventing a cat inside the home from escaping and did not think much of it. The situation escalated when I proceeded to sign the visitor registration form. The form provided options for either a phone number or an email address. I entered my email address, as that is my preferred method of contact. The agent then demanded that I provide my phone number instead. I politely explained that I had already provided my email address and preferred not to share my phone number. Without provocation, the agent became visibly agitated and began yelling, stating that this was "not how it works" and that I either had to provide my phone number or leave the property. Despite my calm explanation that the form itself allowed for an email address, he continued raising his voice and threatened to call the police if we did not comply. He then took out his phone and stated that he would go outside and photograph our vehicle license plates. What occurred next was the most troubling part of the encounter. The agent physically placed his hands on me and began pushing me toward the exit. I immediately instructed him to remove his hands and made it clear that physical contact was unacceptable. Despite this, he continued yelling and escalating the situation. At that point, I considered contacting law enforcement due to the unwanted physical contact. However, my partner and I ultimately chose to leave rather than further escalate the incident. This entire situation arose solely because I exercised my preference to provide an email address rather than a phone number on a registration form that expressly allowed for that option. There was no justification for the verbal hostility, threats, or physical contact that followed. As a result of this incident, I am evaluating my legal options regarding the physical altercation. Fortunately, I have a recording documenting the interaction. I encourage prospective clients to exercise caution when dealing with this agent. While this review reflects my personal experience, interactions of this nature inevitably impact perceptions of the agency he represents as well. Professionalism, respect, and personal safety should be expected standards in any client interaction, and regrettably, those standards were not met during this encounter.

Michael Francis reinforced my belief that the best customer service representatives in any company…read moreare those who inherently enjoy communicating with people and those who have a genuine caring for the people with whom they interact. Michael does not have to force or fake it--because it is innately in his character to care. This is reflected in his work as a Century 21 AA Realtor. Michael helped my wife and me at the beginning of our search on Long Island for our first house. I was impressed by Michael's approachable demeanor and patience with us as we explored the homes available to us within the parameters we had set. Michael had already invested time in us, but he was still understanding when we changed our minds about the state where wanted to live and decided to explore homes in Connecticut, which unbeknownst to us, just happened to be outside of the area where he works as a realtor. Instead of Michael losing interest in us as potential clients and just considering it as a loss of potential business, he offered to give any advice he could to help us as we searched in Connecticut, he checked-in periodically to see how our house hunting was coming along, and he even offered leads to other Century 21 Real Estate Agents in Connecticut that he had vetted himself and we were able to utilize one of the leads. After not finding any suitable homes in CT and some very frustrating times my wife reached out to Michael and he was there when we decided to revisit Long Island for our first home purchase. He guided us without ever rushing us to make our decisions. Finally, when my wife and I caught glimpse of what would ultimately become our first home, Michael worked with us to make it happen, helping us navigate the complexities of the process until we became proud new homeowners. Many people want and need different things from their realtors--my wife and I needed to trust the person who would be an integral part of such a major purchase. We needed to feel that they would care how satisfied we would be with the purchase even years after we moved in. We needed to feel that we could be open to express our concerns and even make mistakes in front of him without being judged as he advised us through his expertise. We needed an ally in our journey and a thoughtful guide who knew the home buying "terrain." Michael gave us all of this. Anyone who is seeking the qualities that I just mentioned in a realtor would do themselves a great service by seeking out Michael Francis. My wife and I will definitely recommend Michael Francis to our friends and family. We are happy and grateful! Bravo Michael Francis, our sincere appreciation!
