DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!…read more On 10/3/25, my husband paid Lee Wiles / Common Vision LLC $1,020 (plus a $281 tip) for axle and brake repair. Less than 24 hours later, the car broke down in a dangerous way. AAA confirmed the repair was unsafe and improperly done, and another certified mechanic verified this. The axle came out and nearly caused a serious accident. When I contacted him, instead of refunding the payment, he admitted in text messages that "the axle came out" but refused to return the money. He also tried to deflect responsibility by making inappropriate comments about race and insisted on "fixing" it again -- despite my clear statements that I no longer trusted him after such unsafe work. I have full documentation: receipt, CashApp payment, AAA confirmation, mechanic statement, and text messages from his phone. This needs to be on record to prevent him from scamming and endangering others. He is also not listed with the BBB as a registered business -- but I have filed a complaint so there will now be a record. If he scammed you too, REPORT HIM. Businesses that operate this way do not last. Add On: It's not harassment to ask for my money back after a repair failed in less than 24 hours and almost caused an accident. AAA confirmed the axle came out because of improper work, and a certified mechanic verified this. I provided proof: receipt, CashApp payment, and text messages where Mr. Wiles himself admitted "the axle came out." I made it very clear that I would not allow him to touch my car again after such an unsafe repair. At that point, the only responsible action was to issue a refund. Instead, he refused, deflected responsibility, and made inappropriate comments about race. This is not about being "nice" or "polite." It's about safety, integrity, and accountability. I stand by my review and documentation. Others deserve to know what happened so they can protect themselves. DO NOT TRUST HIM!!

RE: Common Vision. Lee is the kind of mechanic who is passionate about diagnosing car problems and…read morefinding solutions. I found him here on Yelp and hired him for a PPI to look at a 2003 Tiburon. A family member is an enthusiast for these old cars which they wanted to make into a "hot hatch". I met Lee at the dealer, which was a long drive to the dealer for both of us. And of course the car was in a back lot 3 or 4 rows deep. So while waiting for the dealer to find the car and bring it to the front, Lee noticed some teenagers who were there to look at a Civic SI. One of them was checking for rust by knocking his knuckles on the car body. Lee smiled at this and went over to chat with them and before you know it, he was reviewing the car with them, explaining how you really check for rust, opened the hood and began digging into how to tell if this Civic was running well or not. He looks underneath the car by getting on the ground and actually looking. I noticed all the other guys, both the dealer guys and the buyers, were hesitant to do this. I think they were intimidated because he obviously knew much more about engines than they did. I was impressed that Lee has the instincts of an educator. He really wants to not just evaluate the car but to teach others how to examine a car. Eventually the Tiburon appears and then Lee quickly went through his process. He focuses on the engine and doesn't move on from that until all issues are covered. In this case, he zeroed in immediately on the coolant system. It wasn't holding pressure. I watched as he carefully tested and retested and showed the dealer technician that the system was bad and that it was leaking. We had already been there for an hour and a half so it was decided that the dealer would pull a hose from another car ( the dealer was close to a salvage yard) and repair it and then Lee would return to test it again. In the end, even the dealer gave up on this car, he didn't complete any repair and we moved on. But I will have Lee examine any car we are considering. He is an excellent mechanic, fair and honest.

I've taken a while to write this review because I wanted to be fair. As a towing company, JL Towing…read moreseems to do a decent job. However, my experience getting a repair estimate left me with some concerns. I brought my daughter's car in because it was overheating. I already knew it needed a water pump, and I had the code indicating an issue with the intake manifold. I explained all of this upfront. I was given a fairly high quote for the water pump repair and then told that before they could give me a quote on the intake manifold, the water pump would need to be replaced first. That didn't make much sense to me because on this particular vehicle, the intake manifold has to be removed to access the water pump anyway. My question was simple: if the intake manifold has to come off during the water pump job, why not quote the intake manifold part and any additional labor at the same time? Instead, it felt like the repairs were being treated as two separate jobs, which would significantly increase the total cost. In the end, I took the car to another shop. They did exactly what I expected they replaced the water pump and charged only for the intake manifold part since it had to be removed during the repair anyway. Their explanation matched my understanding of the job, and the total cost came in at about a quarter of what I was quoted by JL. I can't speak to the quality of JL's repair work because I didn't move forward with the job, but based on my experience, I'd recommend getting a second opinion if you're looking at major repairs. It could save you a significant amount of money.

The car was towed to their yard three days ago and supposedly the insurance has not contacted them about moving the vehicle. That was a lie as confirmed by the insurance company. Further investigating the outfit (not a serious business) I see they have a history of keeping vehicles so that the fees against people are piled up. Most probably, this is something that is happening now. There's really nothing I can do about this wrong, But I serve a GOD that sits high and looks low, and vengeance is his!

Auto Body By Duie - untitled

First, a disclaimer: I've never needed/wanted an auto body repair service. I've been lucky, and…read morehave never driven anything so fancy that required this kind of work. But back in 2018, I made a somewhat questionable decision of leasing a car. It made sense at the time: short commute, job future was somewhat uncertain. I needed a low monthly payment and car to get me back and forth. Things are (I think) more stable now, and the lease, back in March, was maturing. Over the last couple of years, it had incurred a little bit of damage from shopping carts, other car doors, and possibly another bumper in the back panel. I needed to get these problems solved before returning it to the dealership; which leads me to my next questionable decision, well, actually, it was a lousy decision. While out for groceries, and a friendly, young guy drove up and said that he was starting his own dent repair service, and that he could fix my dings and dents for a reasonable fee. His name was Cody, and I called him a short time later to talk about his dent removal service in greater detail. We met again so he could assess the job, and came to find he lived right around the corner from me. I had no reason to think he was a scammer, or even just a bad repairman...but I'll get to the point: he was one or both. I just didn't know it at the time. He did everything right: he told me about his family, and thought it was interesting that we were neighbors, and he peeked in the driver's side door frame for info on the paint color, and said he'd run out to his store to get it, and he'd meet me in my driveway to fix my cosmetic issues. He showed up a short time later with his dad, John, and they began work. A short time later, I peeked out and gasped at all the body filler all over the car. It was excessive for all but one of the dents. They painted the car and called me out to take a look, and I felt massive remorse. I could still see the sizable dent in the rear (it was about the size of grapefruit), and the paint on all of the dings on the side clearly did not match the existing paint of the car. I mentioned this to them, though I am not great in these sorts of scenarios, and the father, very crankily said, "it will dry just FINE, ok? We're done here, Cody, let's go." I was floored. It did not dry fine. It was dull and lacked dimensionality. So I called Cody and told him I was unaccustomed to complaining, as well as body work, but I had to return the car in a couple of weeks, and I was worried. He said that he wanted to have a good relationship, since we're neighbors, so he came back a few days later on his own. And for the love of god, he actually made all of the problems worse. It was bitterly cold that day, and he blamed the weather, and I'm sure that didn't help. But the bigger issue was that Cody sucked at this particular task. He promised he'd be back when the weather broke. Weeks went by, and I called for a lease extension to cope, and Dent Boy and his Dad finally showed, to "finish." I was preparing dinner while they worked, and after a short amount of time, Cody texted me: they were done, and I ran out to look. Both men were gone without a trace. They spray painted all over my license plate and windows, and actually left fingerprints in the wet paint, which was still the wrong color, and lacked any kind of shine. The ding in the back was still clearly visible. I was sick to my stomach. I got scammed. If you meet a guy named Cody who seems sweet and who says he can fix your minor body work, just call Duie. Anthony had me come in later that week, and took a look at the car. The estimate was higher than I'd hoped, but I had already paid Cody a few hundred dollars, and I felt the sting of shame. But I agreed to Anthony's price because Honda would come in for the kill if I returned the car the way it was. They took a few days longer than expected, but Anthony (and his son, Anthony) kept me posted along the way. They had some issues undoing Cody's damage. Some nice perks: Anthony Jr. drove me home the day I dropped off the car, and picked me up the day it was ready. Even though I would be returning the car in a few days, I was thrilled to see it as we pulled up to the shop, good as new, and they even cleaned up the interior of the car. A huge help, since I have a kid and two dogs. Anthony Sr assured me it would pass the final inspection at the dealership and it did. A strange but happy epilogue: No, I haven't found Cody. Some day, haha. The lease contract's fine print spelled out a litany fees I'd be responsible for, and they'd send a final invoice. The dreaded day arrived. With some stress, I opened the envelope. Somehow, it was a check for $64. The car was in great shape, and they had applied a $500 credit, which covered the rest of the lease end fees. Anyway, I hope I never need body work again. But if I do, I'll call Duie, and only Duie. Cody: eventually you'll screw over the wrong person. Good luck with that.

Not only did they install a snorkel, they smoke tested it and made sure it was sealed. Not only did they weld sliders and a bumper, but the welds were works of art...and a lot of thought went into the depth and angles to get over rocks, the smoothingnof transitions and fit/finish, etc. They even cleaned up the frame rust and sealed it "because it bothered them to leave it like that", as in, for free, because it meant the end result was better. They installed a full set of skidplates, and also checked the articulation, extended breathers and other lines, repaired cracked fittings and other things "while they were under there" They installed both forward and rear spotting cameras, replaced the heater core, etc. A LOT of work... with updates as they went.
