She never pushed an agenda - instead, she empowered us with information, supported our wishes, and helped us feel prepared every step of the way. During labor and delivery, she was an incredible advocate while also working seamlessly alongside the medical team. Her ability to strike that balance - supporting us wholeheartedly while fostering a collaborative environment with our doctors and nurses - made us feel genuinely cared for. Beyond her expertise, Merrie is simply an amazing human being. Compassionate, calming, intuitive, and deeply invested in her clients, she made one of the most important days of our lives so much better than we ever could have imagined. I truly cannot recommend her enough. If we're lucky enough to have another baby, Merrie will be my very first phone call to make sure she's available for the birth.

Then I found Dr. Margie Amos. I left my appointment feeling like I could cry again, but this time they were tears of happiness. I finally had answers and was met with a doctor who was patient, attentive, and never rushed me. She wasn't bothered by my anxiety or my long list of questions. She was thorough, educational, and incredibly kind. I am so grateful I found her and that she took the time to truly get to the bottom of what was going on. She ordered tests that no one else had considered and looked at everything from multiple perspectives. She provided several options for next steps, clearly explained each one, and helped create a game plan we both feel confident about. I truly cannot say enough good things about this doctor.

I arranged my entire life around it, took an extended leave from work, made arrangements for my recovery, and showed up at the hospital on the morning of my scheduled surgery prepared to have the procedure. **The hospital had no record of my surgery.** I was left standing there on the morning of surgery trying to figure out what had happened. I was later told that the person responsible for scheduling at my doctor's office had sent the request to the hospital, but the hospital says they never received it. Apparently, no one from the office ever followed up to confirm that an operating room had actually been reserved. Because of that failure, my surgery did not happen. They then attempted to reschedule me for the following Monday. At that point, the hospital/anesthesiology team required additional medical testing before proceeding. I completely understood the need for the testing and immediately did everything that was asked of me. I have now completed the required testing and have repeatedly called and begged this office to tell me what is happening and get my surgery back on the schedule. **They have essentially stopped responding to me.** The most unbelievable part is that I finally had to get **my insurance company involved just to find out what was happening.** My insurance company contacted the practice and then informed me that the person responsible for scheduling my surgery had gone on vacation and would not return until the 20th. No one from the practice bothered to tell me this. Apparently, after their original scheduling error caused me to show up at a hospital for a surgery that wasn't actually on the hospital's schedule, my case was simply allowed to sit while the person handling it went on vacation--with seemingly no one else taking responsibility for getting my surgery scheduled. I have been calling. I have been leaving messages. I have explained repeatedly that I am already off work and losing income. I have pleaded for someone to call me back. At this point, I don't even have enough time left in my leave to reasonably schedule the surgery and recover before I am supposed to return to work. This isn't a missed haircut or a dinner reservation. **This is surgery.** Patients arrange their jobs, finances, transportation, family support, recovery care, and their entire lives around a surgical date. There is absolutely no excuse for a medical practice to allow a patient to arrive at a hospital for surgery without confirming that the surgery was actually scheduled--and then, after causing that disruption, fail to communicate with the patient while the situation becomes progressively worse. What has been most upsetting is not simply that a mistake happened. People make mistakes. It is the **complete lack of urgency, accountability, communication, and effort to fix the mistake afterward.** I trusted this practice with my medical care. Instead, I have been left chasing them for answers while losing income and watching the window I set aside for a medically necessary procedure disappear. I am posting this because prospective patients deserve to know how this office handled my surgical care when something went wrong. I am still waiting for someone from this practice to take responsibility, call me, and tell me how they intend to get my surgery scheduled.

I birthed my first child in a hospital- In short, I didn't like many elements of the hospital experience. From the very first appointment with the midwives, I knew I had made the right decision to go with a homebirth. The attention and person to person caring that I received from these wonderful women was so nurturing and empowering all throughout my pregnancy. It is truly a revelation to be cared for in this way throughout pregnancy/birth/postpartum. You have a TEAM who truly cares about your well-being, who you can text with any little question or concern. I am in my 7th week postpartum and I feel great. I attribute so much of this to the exceptional care I have received over the past 6 weeks! My baby is calm. My body is healed. I don't think this is a coincidence. I am certain it is a result of this beautiful home birth Melissa knows absolutely everything there is to know about pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, parenting and pretty much any other topic you want to talk about! She also has a great sense of humor, which can be useful in all of the seriousness that comes with the territory of birth. Samantha is a world class emotional empath. She will ask you the exact right questions to get you talking about your feelings, and will LISTEN closely to everything you have to say which can be enlightening, validating and cathartic. Throughout this whole experience, prenatal appointments, water birth at home, 6 weeks of postpartum care, I have felt SAFE, SEEN, HEARD, EMPOWERED, and CHANGED FOREVER. If you're still not convinced, give these ladies a call yourself. They're the real deal.

The other midwife would not test me, even though the test was a simple blood test. I expressed my concerns to Janet and she ordered a test for me without question, even though she disagreed with me on the relevance of the mutation to pregnancy. Janet listened and eased my fears and walked me through everything I could need to know about how home births usually play out. I had told her that the birth of my son had been traumatic both physically and mentally, and she took that into consideration to make sure that both my mind and my body were cared for during labor. She took all measures necessary to make sure I did not feel violated during this labor as I had with my son. I called Janet to my house once my contractions were close together and unignorable. When she got there, my contractions came erratically and far apart. She stayed for a few hours to see if they would pick back up, and they didn't. She said "I don't think you're in labor." I said, "That's not possible." And she said, "Okay. I'll stay." It is so refreshing to have a medical professional take you seriously and BELIEVE you when you tell her about your own body. About twelve hours of erratic contractions later, Janet informed me that she thought my waters were preventing the baby from dropping down, and asked me whether it would be okay to break my waters. After a few questions, I agreed. She broke my waters and immediately I felt I had to push. Three pushes later I had my baby in my arms. Throughout the intensity of that time, Janet was there encouraging me and making sure I knew I could do it. Thanks in part to her care, I can say that that day is the most proud I've ever been of myself and I am empowered knowing that I'm capable of that degree of strength.

She knows her stuff, but her 35+ years of experience leave her stuck in her ways. I utilized the Hypnobabies program during my pregnancy and birth, and I always felt like Janet did an internal eye roll anytime I mentioned it. When telling her my preferences for my birth plan, I was basically told how SHE does things and that nearly all of my choices were "wrong." So why did I continue to work with her? To put it simply, she was the only CNM in the state that did home births. Everyone else spoke so highly of her, I never understood the hype. What's worse is that the birth of my daughter took a sharp left turn, and I ultimately had to get a c-section. The level of empathy and follow-up from Janet was subpar at best...and for the hefty bill we paid for her, my dollars could've easily been better spent elsewhere. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression shortly after my daughter's birth. Janet couldn't seem to care less, and all I felt was judgment for wanting to quit breastfeeding. To get an idea for her lack of empathy, just see the attached image of the last text I ever sent to her. It was 6 weeks after my daughter's birth, and she NEVER followed up to see how I was doing or how I was handling the postpartum depression. The last I spoke to her on the phone was to collect our credit card for the final bill. By the time I was due for my 6-week postpartum check up her bill was already paid...so why bother, right?

I arrived open-minded and hopeful, but after my experiences here, I've decided to seek care elsewhere. I've experienced two pregnancy losses while under the care of this practice, and during an already difficult time, the care I received often felt more one-size-fits-all than individualized. I recognize that this may be influenced by the volume of patients or broader systems within pregnancy care, but for me, it meant that I didn't always feel truly seen or held as an individual with a unqiue history. The midwife I worked with was kind, but on more than one occasion she appeared unfamiliar with important details of my medical history. After experiencing my first pregnancy loss with her, it was difficult to return just three months later and realize she had not reviewed my chart before coming in to discuss my second loss. In that moment, the lack of preparation felt especially painful. Scheduling appointments was also challenging, and after my second loss I waited an additional 45 minutes to see a doctor, which added to an already emotionally difficult experience. After my second pregnancy loss, I was not offered guidance around possible testing, follow-up options, or next steps unless I explicitly asked. Additionally, after an ultrasound confirmed a pregnancy loss, I was told the earliest available appointment for the necessary procedure was six days later, which felt unreasonable and I was forced to complete the procedure at an entirely different practice. I don't share this to place blame, but rather to help others make an informed decision. If you are someone seeking highly personalized, proactive care, especially after loss or if your pregnancy journey may not be straightforward, this may not be the best fit. For those with uncomplicated pregnancies who are comfortable with a more standardized approach, this practice may work well.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience here has been nothing short of disheartening,…read moreunprofessional, and potentially dangerous -- the kind of neglect that should never happen to anyone, especially when dealing with something so personal and serious. I originally began seeing Laura Sweeney, who was decent. When she became unavailable, I was pushed to Mallory Brown -- and that's when everything fell apart. Mallory is dismissive, unresponsive, lacks any sense of urgency, and has absolutely no compassion or attentiveness for her patients. She doesn't listen, doesn't return calls, and seems more interested in brushing off concerns than addressing them. Here's the reality: I first visited in April 2025 for abnormal menstrual spotting -- something completely unusual for me. I expressed my concern and was immediately told to "wait it out" because it could be perimenopause. Despite mentioning hair loss and other alarming changes, she dismissed me outright. Instead of listening or wanting to understand my medical history, she suggested a pregnancy test. That was the first red flag. Months passed. My cycle became lighter, then suddenly in late August, everything worsened -- intense pain, excessive bleeding, and large clots. I scheduled multiple appointments, each time being told the same dismissive things and repeatedly being asked to take yet another pregnancy test. By September, I was bleeding heavily every day, going through multiple boxes of pads, and begging for real answers. I asked for a full hormonal panel, and she questioned why I would even want that. She finally ordered some blood work -- but not what I requested -- and when my hemoglobin levels came back dangerously low, she said she wasn't concerned. Instead, she tried to push birth control, still without understanding or diagnosing the root cause of my bleeding. Even after I reminded her of my previous fibroid and C-section, she ignored that context. She eventually ordered an ultrasound, which was "unclear," and then an MRI -- but the entire process was delayed because the office couldn't manage my insurance transition properly. By the time I finally got the MRI on October 11th, I ended up in the ER the very next day, one point away from needing a blood transfusion, and also diagnosed with pneumonia in my right lung. To make matters worse, when the MRI results came in, she called me once -- I missed the call by a minute. I immediately called back, left multiple messages over several days, and she never returned my call. Each time I followed up, I was told she was "with a patient" or "at another facility". Only after I completely lost my patience did she finally call -- with zero accountability, little urgency to get me seen, and no acknowledgement of how dire my condition had become.
