There are indeed some good points about this listing...but people should be fully aware of the not so good points. Number one...the photos show several of the apartments in this dwelling....be sure to focus on just the basement apartment, which has entry from the back and does not have access to the courtyard pictured. The "host", Richard did not respond to my responses to his initial email. I was rather taken aback when being greeted by him wearing a loose collar shirt and his boxer underwear. VERY strange and uncomfortable. He seemed quite out of it as he tried to direct us to the parking and introduce us to the apartment, oddly pointing out the most obvious things such as the toaster, a box of Oatmeal packets (noting that they were from Costco). A very strange experience with this person that was quite unsettling. I couldn't imagine a female dealing with this...as I (a male) was there...with my husband...trying to get through it as quickly as possible. The apartment has many good amenities...spacious, great location, incredibly generously stocked pantry and fridge....but the owners need to do a serious deep cleaning job and seriously reconsider the "host". Probably the biggest issue at this place is that there is ZERO insulation between the units and the basement apartment hears EVERYTHING. This might have been somewhat tolerable to hear the footsteps and constant opening and closing of the patio door from those above...but the final straw was hearing the intense and abusive and foul mouthed fight between the occupants of the upper unit one night. I'm not sure how the owners interpret the term "executive" when listing this unit.......it should be listed as a "quaint basement apartment". This is where your Aunt Zelda lives and allows you to stay. The plus is the location and (at our time of booking) a reasonable price and the biggest bonus is free parking and an incredibly generously stocked pantry and fridge...quite positively overwhelming. This place has potential but the owners need to maintain it.........my god.........get a deep clean and tidy up the wear and tear.........and seriously get a different host. Richard was downright creepy. read more
