I didn't feel good about her making the drive, so began exploring other options. Car service would have been over $200, but I discovered a shuttle than runs between a number of hotels and the airport. Made my way to Carson Valley Inn and was picked up promptly at 4:40p - paid $24 - and walked through the airport doors at 6:15p. Definitely not as fast as driving, but in the future it'll be much more convenient for my mom to pick me up at CVI than making the trek to Reno. Throughout the trip, I was impressed at the driver hit every single stop at the exact minute he was scheduled to be there. I got the sense from talking with the valet at Carson Valley Inn that the shuttle has a reputation for being extremely prompt. There was only one other person on the bus with me; it was her first time taking it too. Here's a list of the stops the shuttle makes: Gardnerville Community Center Carson Valley Inn Holiday Inn Express Minden Courtyard Marriott Carson City Carson City Transportation Center Reno Airport Reno National Bowling Center Hopefully more people hop on board! At 7:00'pm I called to have them Pick us up where we had dinner and they still had me on the list to pick us up at northern nevada state veterans home where they assured me they'd pick us up at 4:45 pm Just now, I called at 11:34 and was told a wheelchair van would be at Northern Nevada State Veterans home in an hour or less. At 12:34 I called to find ETA. They had no idea. At 12:54 I called and was told the driver would be there in less than 8 minutes cause they were in route. At 1:28 I called and was on hold for 5 minutes when I very calmly (my advent mass said patience, Patience, patience) tried to explain the timeline. The lady that answered didn't let me finish, started yelling at me and I do mean yelling and hung up on me. It is now 2.5 hours since I placed the first call. I keep trying to use them, but it never gets better. I have come to the conclusion they do not like veterans. And we are cash paying customers. A couple weeks ago - the day after Thanksgiving, the driver showed up 1 hour early. I hurried to get my husband ready. Flo waited for us. She said it was soooo slow. But they dropped us off at the restaurant 35 minutes before the doors opened. It wa freezing outside and the restaurant let us wait inside. I gave the driver a $30 cash tip!!! Because she wasn't late. The people at the restaurant were familiar with the HORRIBLE service this company provides. They know they are the ONLY game in town and take advantage of disabled people.
