My son has been at The Cary School for just under 2 years and the benefits of this NAEYC accredited…read moreschool are visibly clear. My son started in the older toddlers class and, when it was time to transition to the next class up, it was exactly that: a transition. His specific needs were attended to. My son was nervous about changing classes so he would start his day with me dropping him off in his old class. Throughout the day he'd be asked if he'd like to visit his friends in the bigger class and, only when he said he was ready, he'd go over. It took a grand total of 3 days for him to have the confidence to start his day in the bigger class! My little guy was delayed in speech. Learning 3 languages at once can apparently do that. The school has speech therapists that come in to work with the kids who need it. I don't have to worry about scheduling appointments or environments my child is uncomfortable in. It only took 1 session a week for 1 year from my almost-non-verbal 2 year old to become a tri-lingual, chatty 3 year old. The school uses an app that directly notifies the parent with updates about their child. We are informed of potty use, naps, meals and snacks, activities, and any other moments. It's rare to not get multiple photo updates each day. The app also has the weekly lesson plan and, being a former preschool teacher myself, I can vouch that the format of the lesson plans are excellent! I felt compelled to write this review for 2 reasons: first, to share my amazing experiences and, second, to question another review I read on here. I noticed a review from some years ago that was very disappointing. This confused me because I've known families with kids at the school for many years. At no point did anyone ever confide in me that the school was anything less than exceptional. I've only ever heard praises. The specifics of said review raised questions in my head about the poster. Written were complaints about the child being dirty, scratched, in a class with a biting child, and encouraging the use of pull-ups. As I mentioned before, I'm a former preschool teacher (of 15 years, then public high school teacher). In my experience, this sounds very much like a parent that is asking for their child to NOT be a child. I WANT my child to be dirty! It means he's had fun! My child's clothes are always changed when it's anything more that playground dirt or paint. Scratches are to be expected on little kids. If there are no scratches, there are no experiences. If my son didn't cry, I'm betting he was fine. I don't know a single person or child who can clarify every scratch they get. Having a biter in the class sucks. one of the families I knew at the school before we started there had a child that was a biter. They were provided resources to help their child stop the behavior. It took two weeks for the problem to resolve. There was another family, however, that refused the resources and, when the child did not stop biting, the family was given the option to be referred to another school or take advantage of the resources. As for encouraging the use of pull-ups... first, I have no idea what other schools the poster had spoken with, claiming this is the only school to encourage their use. I've never heard that other schools discourage the use of pull-ups. Also, I want my son doing whatever option he's most comfortable with. If it's pull-ups, pull-ups it is. If it's diapers or straight up underwear, cool! My family has always felt supported by the entire school in the decisions we make. Finally, I wanted to address the claim that the owner is cold or didn't care. My gut reaction is that there is something wrong with the negative poster. I adore the entire staff. I've always felt like they make time to sit down and speak with us if we have questions or are looking for guidance in regards to our son's upbringing and milestones. We've become friends with many other families at the school and they all feel the same as us. They love the owner, the office personnel, the teachers, the assistants, the programs, the special events, the structure, the appearance of the school, the development in their children... I've become very close with 2 families that chose to try different schools. One was looking for something cheaper, the other was looking for a very specialized, language immersion school. The first told me 2 weeks after leaving that they see the difference, that The Cary School actually taught her child rather than just babysit. The second was happy at the language immersion school until they realized the cultural differences and decided their child needed more nurture than was offered. Both families have recently returned to The Cary School after just a few months. Review readers, there's a reason this school has a long wait list, has the accreditation it does, and all but one reviews are so wonderful. If you read all of the reviews, make sure you read between the lines of that negative one...

Knowing the length of time we would leaving our child every day, our only hope was to find an environment where our child felt loved and safe. What we discovered was a school that was so much more. Over the past five years, both of our daughters have called The Cary School home. They've journeyed through every stage--from the newborn days through toddlerhood, twos and into preschool. Each transition has been supported by staff who truly know and care for our kids. The depth of dedication became clear at our first parent-teacher conference. We were amazed to learn about the thoughtful planning, careful assessment, and intention that goes into each child's development. The weekly lesson plans continue to impress us, as do the learning experiences our daughters encounter daily. The staff has created an environment where learning feels like play--so much so that our girls actually miss school during vacations and eagerly anticipate returning. Beyond academics, The Cary School has become our second family. Our daughters are greeted with hugs each morning, encouraged to create and explore their imaginations, discover through hands-on learning stations, venture outdoors and build lasting friendships. As we prepare to send our first Cary School graduate to kindergarten, we're filled with gratitude for the love, time, and expertise the teachers and leadership have invested in both our daughters. They haven't just prepared our children academically--they've nurtured them into confident, curious and caring human beings. The Cary School didn't just meet our hopes; it has exceeded them in every way.

Unfortunately, things, finances, timing and needing care for three kids made it to where it didn't work out and we had to look elsewher. I was crushed because I was set on Knowledge Beginnings when I saw how well my boys did in the exploration visit. Life happened, and 7.5mo later I was desperately looking for daycare again and thought, let me just give them a call and give it a shot. Sure enough I was told they had a spot for all three of my kids and by the grace of God they were at Knowledge Beginnings 7 days later STABILITY! KB has given my children something they and I have desperately needed in our lives right now for personal reasons. They're happy there. That means the world to me because the last place they were at for only two months, I was desperate to get them out so much that I was nauseous everyday dropping them off. Hearing their cries and the things my six, almost 7yo daughter would tell me. Again I just cannot say enough about the care provided by KB for the whole family. I love their director Erica and assistant director Alex! They're both incredibly friendly and make you feel like you've been friends for two decades kind of friendly but still professional and uphold boundaries to ensure that all are treated the same. They really care about their students and families. The teachers are wonderful especially in keeping contact with us parents about any concerns or even kudos. We all have things going on in our lives at home but Knowledge Beginnings have given such a wonderful, safe, happy, structured, comforting and loving stable environment for my children and I'm so grateful. From Miss Barbara to the teachers and directors, you would be crazy not to enroll your children her!!!

Since that time, we have watched her blossom and grow and look forward to her continued success with the Goddard School. I love the monthly newsletters, spirit week, summertime activities. It's always bitter sweet when we have to move up to the next class because we've built great relationships with each teacher.

I'm giving 3 stars solely for the friendliness of the staff. My son was only enrolled for a month,…read morebut during this month I did have a few gripes regarding care. A full pack of wipes would "disappear" and I'd have to bring in way more than I used at home. Yet somehow he would still come home with a dirty butt and bad diaper rash because of not being cleaned properly at least once a week (he had never gotten diaper rash before going to Goddard and hasn't had it since he left the school). One of the teachers would also try to get me to bring in more bottles claiming my son was hungry (keep in mind he was only 5 months old at the time and I was already providing five 7oz bottles, which is one more bottle than he usually drank at home). I brought in one more thinking he was maybe just going through a growth spurt, but found he was just being overfed and would go through 5 outfits a day due to spit up because of this. Apparently every time he would make a little fuss a bottle would be stuck in his mouth regardless of whether he was hungry or not. Teachers were not on the same page with the children. One of his teachers was excellent and knew he didn't need to be overfed to quit fussing. He just needed a little attention or to be moved to a new "station". In order for care to be consistent, teachers need to be in the same page with feedings, etc. Lastly, I know Goddard claims they have a 4:1 ratio for infants to teachers, but this is definitely not the case. Almost every morning when I would drop my son off there would be around 6-8 infants with one teacher, who was scrambling to get them all fed and changed. Another teacher would come in later during the morning to help, but there should be at least 2 teachers in the room at all times with that many infants. One person can't do it all. With all that being said, the teachers and all the staff were extremely nice, my son did like them a lot, and I felt he was overall very safe in their care. However, when he goes back into daycare I will be looking elsewhere. Maybe it would have been a completely different experience if he was a little older and not an infant.

As the parent of a child with medical needs, I was especially impressed with the cleaning regimen and standards pre-covid not to mention all the additional safety measures and systems added since the pandemic started. The quality of the education is also great - both pre-school and pre-k curriculums and instruction. Both of my boys were well prepared for Kindergarten. In addition to the top quality of care, I always loved all the extras they threw in. They have special activities throughout the month, water-play outside in the summer, special holiday events in the winter, and even special covid-friendly parades and graduations! I want to let all know that I was very impressed with Goddard School in Morrisville…read more My elder daughter was 1 year 9 months when the day care where she was enrolled called us one day and said that my kid was not fit for day care and she should be at home day care. Reason given was that she cried all the time and that was distracting other kids. At that time she was enrolled at this other day care for well over 9 months. We were very upset. It just brought tears in my and my wife's eyes. We didn't believe though. Someone suggested us to try Goddard at Morrisville. It was a saviour. In just two weeks my daughter was not only smiling but was gelling with everyone there. The teachers and owners studied my child and created a plan that helped her in coming out of day care anxiety. This confirmed that the problem was not with my child but the other day care. My daughter graduated from Goddard. While in Goddard she learnt a lot. My daughter is severely dairy allergic (life threatening). In all her years at Goddard not even a single incident happened and they never had to use Benadryl or Epipen. Hats off to the teachers for taking care. We liked Goddard so much that we enrolled our son when he was just 6 months old. All the teachers my son got were fabulous starting with infant room. Over all we spent 5 and half years at Goddard between my daughter and son. I am so glad that we did. I thank the owners and teachers of Goddard for all the support they provided to my two kids.

As the reviews you are seeing on this page regarding Chesterbrook Academy, I wish my daughter had…read morethe privilege to experience this as well. Unfortunately, they did not provide the best care. If I could give this Academy a 0 stars, I would. I debated on doing this review, because I really had high hopes especially with this being 5 stars AND in a good neighborhood. Recently I moved back to NC from OH, and I was always skeptical of daycare, so I kept my daughter at home with me. Well, her father and I agreed it was time for her to go. I called Chesterbrook earlier this year in May, and then in September they had an infant opening. So, Ms. Susan Moore had given my mother and I a tour late September. I thought everything was so nice and she was amazing! Well, my daughter started October 9th, and after that day she did not return. For as Ms. Jasmine was her teacher, and there were several things that bothered me. I would find my daughter's behavior somewhat acceptable if she never went to daycare, but she has always gone to my church daycare and not once did she ever act this way. Once I gave my daughter to Ms. Jasmine she was crying and screaming...literally? I thought well maybe that's because she's new? Nope. She cried the entire day. Now, I understood that Ms. Jasmine was new, but she only had two infants, my daughter (who could crawl) and another baby that laid on her back (she couldn't crawl). So, I grabbed my daughter and continued to hold her till I left. I made my daughter a whole feeding plan and explained to Ms. Jasmine step by step how to feed my daughter. She gave my daughter just turkey? then hours later gave her the fruits and vegetables, but that wasn't how I explained it to her? So, when I asked her why didn't she follow the feeding plan, her remarks were, "I forgot". So, when I viewed my daughter's chart. They changed her around 9:45ish AM, then 1 something, and then right around I came to pick her up which was 3:30. I was so confused. THEN, Ms. Jasmine was not wearing no SHOES or SOCKS and her feet were all on the carpet, by the children's toys, and when I looked at her as she was sitting on the carpet, her bare feet was in close proximity to my daughters face. I was disgusted. For I think when you are working in childcare there is a certain way a person is to be presented, I mean in my opinion. I, then continued to walk to Ms. Susan Moore (the Assistant Principal) and ask her was Ms. Jasmine supposed to wear socks and shoes? with booties on? She proceeded to tell me that she was in fact supposed too, and that she would remind her to put something on her feet. Well, I as came to pick my daughter up, she was not wearing any socks, shoes, or booties. Ms. Jasmine was in front of my child, and her nose was running till her snot was in her mouth, while Ms. Jasmine was IN FRONT of her, but attending to the other child. I picked my child up. She wasn't wearing any socks. She had paint on her shirt. AND when I asked for a tissue, she gave me a hard paper towel to wipe my childs nose. My baby looked miserable, and I left her in the worst care thinking she was going to be taken cared of. Nope. I then proceeded to make the decision that my daughter would no longer attend this Academy. As I was coming to get her things, and they didn't include everything. One of the staff members made a comment, "I mean she only did stay for one day " and rolled her eyes at me. I was upset, but I just kept going on about my business. I say this to say, this place is only about the money. They do not care about the children or the families, and just because they are 5 stars...doesn't mean they are legit. I was willing to pay $410 a month, but I'm glad it didn't work out.
