Executive Keys is THE family place to stay in Port A, and everyone knows that. What you might not know is the wide open spaces on the property which are perfect for kids playing soccer, tag, flying a kite, etc. If you haven't visited since the hurricane, you will be amazed by the upgrades in your condo. The rec room is great for family reunion dinner, rainy day ping pong games, and of course laundry day! Pool is cool, management is beyond friendly. What more could you need? read more

We had a great time at the Executive Keys! The executive suite condo was perfect for my family of three. The room was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. We loved the location, just a short walk over the bridge and we were on the beach by mile marker 18. After a long day at the beach we went back to the condo and relaxed by the pool. We also had fun playing ping pong at the Recreational center. Overall a great time with exceptional staff. Will recommend to family and friends. read more

I chose this place because I sort of thought this was where my family stayed when I was 8-9. Not quite as sure now. These garish colored condos are looking dilapidated. But who cares? You are here for the beach right? The desk clerk wasn't overly friendly, enthusiastic or helpful upon check-in. That really set the stage for the rest of our time in Port Aransas. The fridge did smell mildewy. In fact the whole room did, but I guess that's typical of the beach. The futon/couch left much to be desired. The mattress was thin, dirty (we covered with a provided sheet) and the metal support springs ass poking when sitting down. The toilet was a micro 12" high stool that held and flushed a crazy amount of water for being on an island where you would think water would be at a premium. Executive Keys could also use a few more BBQ grills. The various handymen around looked straight out of the Peckinpah film Straw Dogs. As they passed by, they looked at me like they could just as soon kill me. Towels were delivered promptly. There's "free" wi-fi. A kitchen was in room and I cooked seafood every night. Honestly it was better than most of our lunches out. And it's close to the beach. For the $130 price, though, I felt cheated. At least I didn't have to drive my car to the beach and get sand in it. The most annoying part of the stay came when one of the Straw Dogs-esque maintenance workers arrived to install an air filter and do silly little checks on door locks, smoke alarms, and TV remotes. He then sat down at the table and filled out paperwork. The thought crossed my mind the guy was even casing our room. I mean really . . . can't you get that done between guests? I wish I'd paid a little more and stayed in a high rise. read more

I simply cannot say enough good things about this resort. My husband and I have stayed there three times now, and each time, it seems to get better. The staff is friendly, always available and lots of fun. The facilities are always so clean and uncrowded. We will never stay anywhere else. We've stayed in the efficiencies as well as the two bedroom condos, but they have apartments that can accommodate up to a dozen people! The prices are the lowest you'll find on a nice beach, and every condo we've had has had more than enough kitchen space and equipment to cook meals nightly. Word of advice: Bring your own groceries. The store in that area gouges the tourists, and there isn't much of a selection. And don't drive to the beach if you don't have to. A parking pass costs $12, and you can just walk across the boardwalk from the resort. I do have a small request, though... update your web page, guys! It does NOT do you justice! This place was so great! I had such a hard time choosing a place to book when searching online. I chose this one because it looked clean and it was close to the beach. We were greeted by Aaron when checking in and felt like we made a new friend! He gave us helpful hints about the beach and golf carts. The guys working there work so hard out in the heat every day. They're keeping the grounds so clean and have flowers everywhere! And the pool! Wow! I do not swim in public pools, it just grosses me out. But I was in this pool every single day! The guys keep it so dang clean! And it's huge! We went to the beach a couple of times, but the whole family preferred spending time at the pool. The room was great, clean and cute! Only had to make a call for someone to come take our trash out or when we needed more towels. They make it as easy as possible for you! There are so many cute places to stay in Port Aransas, but this will be the one I recommend to everyone! read more

Just stayed here from Sun-Thurs in unit #112 *CONDENSED REVIEW* All in all, I was pretty happy here. I'd give this place less stars if they were more expensive or priced as high as other condos, but for the price it was pretty good. If you're looking for a cheap, no-frills (this is not a resort) yet CLEAN place that is good enough to house you for however long your vacation is, try this place! *DETAILED REVIEW* The price was VERY reasonable ($79/night) for what we got. It was the cheapest price I found for a condo and was competitive with local hotel prices! AND we were right next to the beach. There was even a private boardwalk straight to the beach. PROS: - The people who work here are VERY friendly and knowledgeable about local happenings - Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. All our stuff seemed really new and nice - We had a large patio with two nice patio chairs - Queen bed, twin bed with LOTS of pillows to use as a couch, TV, dresser in a closet and full kitchen (oven, microwave, stove top, sink, fridge with freezer, toaster, coffeemaker and even a small table with two stools). No dishwasher, so we had to wash all the dishes we used ourselves. No biggie, they give you dish washing liquid, a drying tray and paper towels. You get a TON of nice dishes with silverware, lots of pots and pans and tons of other dishes (platters, etc.) and utensils you might need for cooking - We had a tankless water heater so we always had ample amounts of hot water to shower with - You get free daily towel service which includes bath towels, hand towels and washcloths - They gave us two keys and we had no issues checking in (with our reservation) or checking out - There is a rec room which is kinda neat. A pretty clean room with lots of tables and chairs if you wanted to have a gathering for a reunion or whatever. There's a ping pong table and foosball table to use as well. But you have to get equipment from the office with a deposit. But the ping pong balls can be purchased from a vending machine for a quarter each. haha - Washing machines and dryers available at the rec room - There's also shuffleboard and a volleyball net, but again you need to get equipment from the office - Small playground for kiddos - You can have pets in certain units at certain times of the year. And for those of you who are allergic to certain animals or don't want to deal with a room that has possibly been peed in or smells like dog/urine (ie: ME), you can specifically request a unit that doesn't allow pets - Only have to be 21 to reserve so those of us who are less than 25 AND also responsible can feel welcome here. (FYI, MOST places in Port A require you to be 25+ to reserve) CONS: - Office hours are 9 to 5 (even though check-in isn't until 4), which is kinda crappy if you wanted any game equipment after 5. But if you need to check in after then, I hear you just call them and someone will happily come out to check you in - We spent about 15 min. trying to look for the thermostat before finding it *behind* the fridge. We had to literally shove the fridge out of the way (which then sort of blocks the entrance into the room) so we could adjust the temperature in our room. Yeah. - The water pressure was pretty sucky and the showerhead was waay too low. I'm not even that tall (5'4") and I had to stoop down to wash off my hair. And the tub/shower was pretty small in itself - Like I said, you get free daily towel service but the bath towels are not that great. Not fluffy and pretty small. Bring your own bath towels, especially if you're a bigger person. Also, the assortment they give you changes every day. The first day we got a nice assortment of bath and hand towels and washcloths but the second day we just got four bath towels and a couple washcloths. The third day we got a different assortment as well - There is a heated pool here which would be nice to swim in during the day but avoid it like the plague near dusk and at night. We tried to swim after the sun had gone down and were literally swarmed with mosquitoes and had to run back inside. The pool definitely seems like a mosquito breeding ground and I'm sure the fact that it's heated doesn't help. Also, there's no hot tub :o( - None of the efficiencies have a beachfront view. Only the 2/3 bedroom condos and townhomes have a beachfront view. There were quite a few stray cats (we saw 3 or 4 different ones) that seemed to live around the property. I didn't mind it because I love cats and they don't bother you and will leave if you get near them, but if you're really allergic to cats or concerned about your children's safety (uh, rabies) or thinking about letting your animals wander around the property, just know this. My boyfriend broke up a pretty severe cat fight out in the parking lot one day where both cats wound up with gashes in their legs and were bleeding. :o/ read more

This would be the fourth time my wife and I have stayed here at Executive Keys with our two dogs. I have only good things to say about this establishment. It is right on the beach, with its own private beach access. The condo we stay in is always the efficiency. It really is big enough for everything we need. Then again, with the ocean in your backyard, how much do you really need? With a small kitchen, basic supplies included (cutlery, pots, pans, plates, cups) microwave and an oven and a fridge, you really only need clothes, cooler, and some other things and your good to go! read more

So far the staff is beyond fantastic...termites were due to the construction a stablished "since 1970's"...which I'm ok w...price is fantastic...jus had disappointment over bugs n lack of bath supplies...bugs were easily handled w pump-like spray they provided after going to office-which they seemed to know/understand about...very kind to accommodate tho...(only provided SOAP-no shampoo/conditioner) upside, The Staff though was MORE THAN WILLING to accommodate us! No problem there AT ALL! That's the ONLY reason I give a "4" of 5 rating...location=fantastic, price=fantastic, customer service=fantastic...would love to stay here many times over...private bridge along very short walk to the beach, playground for kids, swimming pool n rec room! It was a ton of fun...I recommend 2nd floor so u have a view of the ocean! We did n loved it! read more

Executive keys FOR SURE!! Its chill, and has an old school salty vibe, LOTS of lush grass and a Rainbow playground and great pool and laundry/gameroom area. Staff is really friendly and the managers are really into gardening, so there are little patches around every corner with succulents, coastal and tropical plants, etc. A private boardwalk dumps you right over a large, clean sand dune (the kids love it) with a steep slope that will roll you right into the beach. read more

Me and my boyfriend have stayed here twice so far, both times in one of their efficiency units. We were overall happy with this place! As others have said, it's a no-frills kind of place, but hey, we're there for the beach, not the hotel. It's super close to the beach with direct access, cheaper than any other place that we've found, and we LOVED the fact that it had a full kitchen (a BIG money saver!) As mentioned by someone else, bring your own groceries, the prices at the only (tiny) grocery store in town are ridiculous and have a very limited selection. My only real complaint is that housekeeping was unreliable. Every time they came in the a.m. we were either having breakfast or getting ready to leave. And every time the employee said they would come back in a few minutes, but not once ever did. We had to go to the office every time (both years we've stayed there) when we needed towels, toilet paper, or a fresh garbage bag as ours was full. All in all, we can't wait to go back this year! read more

I give it 5 stars for the price and what you get for that price. We stayed in unit 114 for two nights. The place was an efficiency for $89 a night. It was the only efficiency that had a tiny view of the water. (The other units that face the water are 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condos for $159 a night.) It was clean and nicely decorated in a nautical theme. The bed was comfortable and had a good mattress on it and soft comfy sheets and a cotton quilt. There was also a large futon that would sleep two. There are windows all along the side facing the gulf and also a window in the back of the unit, so that if you open both, there is a great cross-breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a couple of nice meals--even some fairly good cutlery. I would like to stress that this place isn't fancy at all. Just a good, basic place to stay and lots of beach to stroll on. That's about it. If you like the sound of the ocean and a nice, clean, relaxing place to stay, this is a good one. PS They have a laundry room and a pool. More pluses. read more

Second timers staying at this place. Staff was friendly and allowed early check-in (room was ready by 1p). The hotel itself is nothing fancy what so ever. Decor could use some updating as well as the furniture. The room was set up like a studio apartment equipped with a kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave and a futon (perfect if you have more than 2 guests). The beach is only within a short walking distance. Overall, I feel the room rate was a bit much but, for being it is Memorial weekend and accessible to the beach, it's expected. read more

This place is one of our favorite places to stay at and the ONLY place we will stay at when visiting Port Aransas. It's beautiful inside and out, SUPER close to the beach (1-2 minute walk) AND the staff/management is AMAZING! Definitely recommend it, they are pet friendly, will work with you on alternate check in/check out times if needed, and are overall very personable. It may be a little bit extra to stay here versus the other hotels down the road BUT it's worth it for the cleanliness, customer service, the full sized kitchen (we made breakfast for 8 people in that one kitchen!) , and the close access to the beach! Also we came here recently for a family gathering and most of the family stayed at this hotel and they were kind enough to put all our rooms within close proximity to each other! LOVE this place and will ALWAYS come back! read more

I've stayed at Executive Keys many times although it had been years since my last visit. The location is great, there is beach access and the condos are 5 minutes from Port A. In the past my wife, sons, and I stayed in the 2 bedroom condos, on this trip, as empty nesters, we stayed in an efficiency with our dog. The room was about the same size or larger than many hotel rooms but had a full kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator. The air conditioner worked great, the hot water was from a tankless heater, and the room was clean. Downside was that the full-size bed was a little small for my wife and I and it was a little on the lumpy side. Cell phone and wifi coverage was weak at times. But, we were there for six days and enjoyed it. I have no problems returning and I will recommend Executive Keys to anyone. The condos were built in the 1970's but have been updated on a regular basis, There is plenty of green space, something you won't see in a complex built more recently. There is a large pool with a great deck area, game room, and laundry facilities. There is direct beach access either for an automobile or a walk way. The staff is super friendly. Shout out to Gloria at the front desk, Charles, and Naomi on the housekeeping service. They're dog friendly during the off season. Better beds, stronger wifi, and killing the mosquitos would earn this five stars. read more

This is a great, comfortable place with awesome staff. They go out of their way to fix any issues and are extremely accommodating. There is an easy walk to the beach with a connecting bridge from the property to the sand. The pool is large, clean and there's a game room and a volley ball net right next to the pool. Zero complaints, would stay here again for sure. read more

I'm not giving Executive Keys 4 Stars because it's a luxury beach front resort; it's not. The rooms are simple and decked out in pastel 80's decor, but the kitchens are stocked, the bathrooms are clean, and the water in the showers is hot! What else do you really need when you're spending your time at the beach and pool (which is pristine) anyway? What earns Executive Keys 4 Stars is that it has the nicest staff I have ever encountered at any motel, hotel, or resort anywhere. Seriously, they are the friendliest and most accommodating people who will go out of their way to help you. They even loaned us a big pot so we could have a shrimp boil. Also, you can't beat the location. It's just a quick walk down the boardwalk or the beach road and we had a clear ocean view from our room. My only complaint had to do with our bedroom. There were no curtains on the window, so the lights from the pool/rec area came through all night. I spoke to the manager about it and he was nice enough to give me a blanket to hang up, which helped a lot. On our last night, it was very windy and the storm shutters came unlatched and banged around all night, so we didn't get much sleep. I could have called the manager at 2:00 am when it woke us up and I'm certain he would have come and fixed it, but he's so nice I didn't want to bother him!! This place was perfect for our group which was 2 couples with 2 young babies. We will be back for sure. Great family friendly spot close to the beach and town. read more

We visited this hotel at the beginning of August. We were looking last minute for a hotel, and they just had a cancellation. Even though it had decent ratings, we expected the worst due to the last minute situation. Boy were we wrong! They made the booking with two different families super easy. With two families staying here, it was the perfect size! Close to the beach, clean, and the staff was super friendly! Front desk clerk was from our area, and was good at the small talk! They had almost everything you could need to cook in the kitchen, and the outside showers were nice to use to get the sand off. The only reason it didn't have 5 stars is due to the beach access. We went in the hottest part of the summer, and to get to the beach, you had to walk on a busy coastal access road, or over a path on the sand dunes. That sand gets too hot to walk on! So we were limited to beach access when it was cooler in the mornings and at night, which was fine due to our kids being little. We will be back! read more

We've stayed here the last two summers. This place is older, but clean. It is great for families since it has large lawns for kids to play football, etc. The landscaping is well maintained & clean. There is a regular sized pool and a big "game" room with couch, chairs/tables, ping pong & fooseball tables. House keeping crew was friendly and cheerful. This place felt comfortable and relaxed. Reading the other reviews, I've learned that each unit is managed by a different owner. With that said, don't rent #602. The grounds are nice, the clubhouse and pool were a great place to hang out... but our rooms? NO. Nothing had been updating in there since 1970- the carpets were old and so filthy we all had black-bottomed feet after walking around on them for a few minutes. Sand covered the floor, and of course, it's a beach house, but it seems fair that someone would clean up after the last guest. The showers smelled like mold. The "bath" towels were so tiny I couldn't wrap my 5-year-old up in one. The "stocked" kitchen lacked several basic items like oven pans/cookie sheets, large mixing bowls, a decently sharpened knife. The pots and pans were Teflon-lined but so overused that they were chipping and scraping off bits of the liner, which is unsafe. There was a coffee pot but no filters. We killed several roaches. Some electric plugs worked, others didn't. The refrigerator would not chill thoroughly no matter what setting it was on. I guess you get what you pay for, but this stay pushed me past the point of budget concerns. I'd happily pay more to stay elsewhere. read more
