Alex is absolutely wonderful. I have had a lot of issues with my 2008 Prius, between fixing a messed up brake actuator, to replacing the transmission, it was getting to the point where I was just about to give up on this car because I had put almost three thousand dollars into fixing it, yet it was still causing problems. I was about to get two individual cells of my 28 cell battery replaced by another mechanic, who quoted me about $850 to do the job. After a little bit of research, and looking into reviews, I found Alex. I put in a brief description of everything I'd been through and he gave me a call within a couple of hours. When I called him back and we got to talking, he explained everything thoroughly and without belittling me or making me feel stupid for asking. I'm a young female and I find that it's difficult to talk to mechanics without being talked down to or taken advantage of. Alex explained what the refurbished battery is, compared to a brand new one, and why replacing just two cells isn't the best idea. He broke down how they refurbish the cells and how he would install the new battery, gave me plenty of advice, and even explained to me how and why my battery ended up messed up in the first place! When it came down to pricing, he told me it's be $890 to replace the battery with a refurbished one; I was floored. In comparison to the other mechanic, who was charging me just about the same to replace just Two cells, I am getting an entire 'new' battery. With a warranty!!! Trust me, this put a huge smile on my face. His garage is about 40 minutes from where I live, and I was dreading having to tow the car all that way, (because it wasn't safe to drive) When he told me the best possible news... He could come to me. I had him come by this morning and replace my battery. The job took about an hour (?) and he was excellent. My car drives smooth, no more weird noises or things acting up. I can actually feel comfortable and safe driving my car for the first time in a Very long time. Should I ever need work on my Prius again, or if I get another Hybrid car, I will call him immediately. Had I known about him before, I would have saved myself a Lot of money, time, and stress. I had a different mobile mechanic botch the job putting in my brake actuator and it almost caught my engine on fire, Scary! Contacted Exclusively Hybrid through their website and spoke with Alex who was very informative and earned my confidence in using them to service my hybrid battery. The dealer was asking $4500 to replace the battery and offered no other lower cost method to servicing my battery problem. The Toyota warranty was 100k miles or 8yrs and I was just over the mileage at 110k and Toyota refused to give any compensation towards the $4500 price tag. Alex offered 2 different methods and had the patience to clearly explain my options. Repair the hybrid battery with a 1 yr warranty or replace with a Dorman rebuilt battery with a 3 yr warranty which would cost 3x price of repairing the battery. Due to my car being only 7.5 years old I decided to choose the repairing with the 1 yr warranty which was 1/3 of the cost of Dorman battery. The only downside was I had to have it towed to his shop, but luckily I had AAA Plus which it cost nothing extra for the tow. The work was completed in 24 hrs and so far so good. Getting better gas mileage than before... 43mpg in the city and 36mpg Hwy due to my Hwy driving, if you get what I mean. For now I'm happy until the next time. We went there after getting the triangle of death on our 2007 Prius. We took it first to a local mechanic that charged us $200 just to check it and then told us it would cost more than we paid for the car to fix it! We went to Alex and all we have to say is that the reviews that brought us to him were all so right! He was the nicest guy. Didn't gauge us and checked our car without charging us and quoted us a fair price with options. He fixed it all the same day and even took the time to show us everything and explain all of the inner workings of our car. He managed to show us all of this without making us feel like we were dumb although, we don't know much about hybrid cars. He diagnosed my former battery and found that at 130K miles, the individual hybrids cells were showing their age. (One would expect erosion from plates of metal sitting in a bath of acid.) Alex was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and rather passionate about hybrid technologies. He worked quickly and diligently to change out my battery in under an hour for my Prius. For me, he offered two options. The first option was a less expensive in-house rebuilt battery pack with a one year warranty (which you can see those packs lined up on the shelves being prepared for the next customers). The other option was a Dorman battery pack, featuring the latest 3rd generation cells, with a three year warranty. I chose the second option as I intend to keep my car for a while. True story. I never write reviews...My 2010 Prius 113,000 miles starts lighting up like a Christmas Tree on a Monday. Needs a new main battery! Toyota Dealer wants $4,000. I called Alex at Exclusively Hybrid in Lake Park, Florida late around 7 pm and he answers right away and he tells me to come in the next day. Next day Tuesday I drive 1 hour North from Miami. While he and Matias put in the refurbished battery I take a walk and have lunch at Panera. Even though Matias had to step out real quick for a family medical emergency, he was right back to finish the job!...Drop the mic. I'm out of there in a couple of hours and my 2010 Prius is humming strong like it's brand new. Total cost????$1,273.30..1 year or 12,000 miles warrantee. These guys are good. When the "big" battery in our 2005 Prius died, the dealer's repair price was almost more than the car's value, and far beyond our ability to pay. Luckily we found Exclusively Hybrid and Alex, and after one phone call we knew we had found the solution to the problem. He calmly talked us down from our panic and provided prompt, efficient, affordable service, better product and better warranties than the dealer, and had us up & running within a couple of days of our initial call. What great service!! My 2006 Prius battery was failing. Toyota dealership charges $3,400 for new battery replacement. Exclusively Hybrid offers a quality refurbished battery (1 year warranty) for 30% the dealership price AND they will come to your house and perform the replacement. They also offer a 3-year warranty battery, but with 220,000 miles I was not sure how long I will have the car. Alex was professional, informative, and met every commitment he made. I have a 2005 Prius with low mileage that had hybrid battery that was dying, and Toyota would have covered the new battery in five states...Florida not being one of those:( Toyota wasn't helpful at all, but Alex explained the options and got me up and running with a refurbished battery.
