Whitney did a phenomenal job on my hair. I got on StyleSeat after my greys were driving me to distraction and picked someone by geographic region as opposed to actual reviews because my commute is atrocious. Whitney popped up. She's conveniently located on Branch Avenue less than 10 minutes from the metro where I park to go into DC everyday. I made the appointment and confirmed online. I arrived on time and she offered to let me sit in the kitchen to finish the food I'd brought. She did have a head in her chair at the time, but I wasn't over surprised. It was a cold, rainy Thursday evening. She got me in quickly and shampooed and conditioned me herself to sit under the dryer (of course) and then she quickly wrapped one client before me and got me in the chair. All-in-all I was out in under 2-1/2 hours and I consider that a complete win. My hair was LAID and I absolutely loved my curls. Whitney does an excellent job with natural hair. I don't need a whole silk press because my hair, while curly, is fine (3c/4a) but she still did a good job of determining the heat setting from my iron (I always bring my own now) and was willing to use my heat protectant, which I appreciated. 10/10 read more

I received a round brush blow out by Whitney. My blowout lasted about two weeks. I was impressed that it lasted that long due to the amount of rain we have been getting and I sweat from my workouts. I am natural and my curl patter is still in tact as she was sure to use a trusted brand of heat protection. Whitney has "growing hands" because my hair has definitely grown in the short time that I have been coming to her. I am so grateful that I somehow found her on Instagram. Not only was I extremely satisfied with my silk press the product used on my hair, Enso, Hair Perfecting Serum, lasted for over two weeks! this is difficult because I've never had this experience before where I've been utterly devastated. I was very excited because the salon just sparkled. The wash girl did a wonderful job. Each person who went before me had beautiful hair. Even though their hair wasn't natural, I wasn't frayed because I thought my request wasn't really that difficult. I showed a picture of me with my hair in recent months and asked if my hair be TRIMMED to that length. Not only did my hair get cut awfull... I looked like a cockatoo... but my edges were also shaved away by the clippers. You could see where my edges should've been and where they had now found their new line. This was a few days before Christmas. When I saw my hair I was horrified and wanted to run away from that salon as fast as I could. I couldn't pay fast enough. I am still wearing scarves to cover the scalping that was done to my hair. Having screwed up hair to enter the new year and holiday season has scarred me for life. I NEVER want to enter a salon again. I am only posting this because I don't want other girls to become edgeless.. my scarves can't even be on fleek. read more
