    I kept my account open even though I moved most everything to another bank because they had…read moreabsolutely the worst service. They only offered me services once I was taking my money away and they realized how much money I was taking... I opened this account when I first started banking as a teen, so silly me, I was sentimental. SO I left a bit of money in the account and continued to get monthly statements after moving the bulk of my savings. Last month, I got a notification that they had sent my money to the state as an abandoned account. None of the statements I received mentioned this so I went into the local branch. The woman who helped me was very confused since she said they never sent me a notification that they were going to do this. She looked for it but said, no, no notification was sent which is by law something that they are required to do. I told her some of the things they did or didn't do over the years to me and to my husband (who left them years ago), She was not surprised but saddened. The only good thing I have seen in that place in the last 20 years was the lady that helped me that day. I suggested she apply at a local bank because it is clearly getting worse at Bank of America. I then had to request my money back from the state because B of A was not going to help.

Umpqua Bank purchased circle bank and just made it the same corporate garbage. At least Wells Fargo had modern ATMs and had good online access. I had some fried on my account and had to reopen an account and it took me awhile to get the online access set up online access is like an afterthought. I couldn't really track my account for a while and I bounced one check and they wouldn't waive the $35 fee even though they're software tools are junk and if it works better I could have tracked things

I opened up a bank account here after closing my Wells Fargo because of unnecessary fees and the impersonal feel of the big bank. Now I'm learning that this small bank has just as many problems if not more. Two main problems I faced that struck me as unprofessional since I opened my bank account here in January. I just received my third paper statement for my Umpqua Checking Account, even though I specified when opening my account that I wanted everything to be electronic to save trees and the $3 monthly fee. I emailed customer service a month after that when I got my first paper statement, and called customer service a month after that when I got my second. Here I sit with the third erroneous paper statement. Granted, they did reimbursed me for the fees which is why they have 2 stars not 1. On top of that though, the debit card I ordered immediately when I opened my account took 3 weeks to arrive when they said it should be about one week. When I checked in after one week and no card, they assured me it was because of the holidays and that it would be in shortly. A week later and still no card, I checked in and they realized "oops! We never ordered you a card to begin with. Sorry!" These things together just scream negligence and are very unprofessional in my opinion. Im sorry to say it, but I'm happy to warn people considering using this bank: stay away from Umpqua if you want a bank that knows what it's doing. At least until they figure it out.
