The instructor then proceeded--despite the instruction to accelerate--to tell me to slow down. The instructor herself is very misleading, and not in the moment. She was emotionally devoid to a point of social sequestration. Furthermore, she also was quite irresponsible. She doesn't care about the wellbeing of her customers, and even went on to disrespect both me and my mother by managing problems with her other customers during our paid time. Where more irresponsibility took manifestation on her behalf was when she was very obscure about where to meet. When asking questions--because inevitably every customer would have to--she would indirectly refuse to answer. Ultimately, the customer is left in a state of obscurity just as the instructor.

The instructor my son had the first 2 days was new, unprepared, confusing, late and boring. I did ask for a new teacher as the reviews reflected that this school was different than others and a little more fun...a new teacher was assigned....thank you. As for the driving teachers you have a couple dudes there that are complete old jerks and make the kids feel on egg shells. I reported Dennis as my son was like OMG that guys the biggest jerk. One driver teacher boasted about making good money and working OT doing this, but he was an ass and gave a kid a panic attack. I made sure my son didn't have either of these men again. Kids are nervous enough and these guys just yelled. Why do they do this for a living is it just about money? So before you threaten the kids about being good in the car look at these teachers and how they are. I'm still puzzled on how this is a top driving school. Oh well. He's not going back .

She has no patience and arguably doesn't fulfill the role of a driver instructor nicely. Her method of instructing is COMPLETELY different than Rick. She is very cut and dry, no sympathy, and does not take kindly to nervous drivers. Rick however, informs the driver clearly and kindly on what they are expected to do and he even adds a nice little "You got this! It'll be okay!" type of touch. Maybe her passive aggressive way of instructing works with some drivers... Who knows! I just know that Rick is a great instructor and I would recommend him gladly to anyone who asked!

However this is not where the actual testing site is!! This place is an absolute scam that they have running in a random parking lot behind businesses. They literally do not have an actual establishment besides the home in which I believe the receptionist or one of the head instructors is using. I know many people have complained and here I am to add to this especially to the instructor I spoke with today. I was so excited to take my road test finally and do it somewhere in my area but...Blanzy is not the way to go at all!! It is an older Arab lady who was extremely rude. I was late to my appointment because they have the wrong address posted and she proceeded to yell at my mother and I to reschedule even though we were simply trying to explain they have the wrong address posted for their Google profile. I didn't even take my test because she was already testing 2 drivers in the same car!!

Amy's instructor, Erica, was a wonderful teacher. She put Amy, a nervous driver, who had twice failed the test in the past, at ease. Erica calmly and meticulously taught Amy how to drive safely and with confidence. We were both so impressed with Erica and I highly recommend her to families with nervous teens! I saw a night and day difference in Amy's driving and in her confidence level on the road. Erica is a gifted teacher! Amy then took her test with Mike who like Erica was low key and also able to put young drivers at ease. Mike obviously knew his stuff but had such a lovely personality that Amy was not nervous at all. I am unsure if Mike teaches but he seemed to be gifted with young people just like Erica. All-Star has clearly done their due diligence in hiring great staff. Plus when Amy passed with flying colors, Mike seemed almost as proud of her as I was! All-Star was a great help to me. I'm not sure that I would have been able to get Amy comfortable on the road myself because she was so nervous after her previous failures that I didn't feel it was safe to practice with her without help. All-Star was easy to deal with on the phone and provided excellent customer service. They made driving lessons safe, comfortable and easy for Amy giving her the needed information, practice and confidence. For the peace of mind and safety it was well worth the money for private lessons -- especially with such an excellent staff! We are so grateful to the staff at All-Star and recommend them highly!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would!…read more I enrolled my identical twin sons at All Star Driver Education in Dundee, expecting professional instructors, reliable scheduling, proper accommodations, and most importantly, SAFETY. Instead, we experienced one frustrating situation after another. PENNI (PENNY), DRIVING INSTRUCTOR: Penni canceled TWO scheduled drives because of her own doctor appointments. Yet when she changed our 5:00 appointment to 4:30 by email the day before, without confirming with us, WE were charged a ridiculous $60 no-show fee! When I questioned her, she YELLED at me about her doctor appointments and needing to "put food on her table." Excuse me?! We have jobs, bills, and families too! Apparently, her schedule matters more than the paying customers'. She also refused to give me her manager's contact information. After I complained, I had concerns about my son's next driving evaluation and requested that the dashcam footage be reviewed. MARCY, CLASSROOM INSTRUCTOR: Both of my sons are autistic and require accommodations. One struggles with bathroom-related anxiety, yet Marcy made comments such as "You should have thought about that before class." How incredibly insensitive! My son also needed his written exam read aloud, but that accommodation wasn't provided during his first attempt. HE FAILED BY TWO QUESTIONS! When arrangements were made for a retest, the exam was read aloud in a HALLWAY. Seriously?! ANTHONY, MANAGER: Anthony eventually stepped in, refunded the $60, and worked to address some of our concerns. I appreciate that, but why did I have to fight so hard for basic professionalism and accommodations? We even showed up for a scheduled retest only to discover the exam wasn't available! THOM, TESTER: Thom became involved when additional testing arrangements were made at the corporate office. I'm not blaming him for the earlier issues, but why did it take so many complaints to arrange appropriate testing conditions? AND THE WORST PART? TORNADO WARNINGS! During their final drive, my sons were out on US-23 while tornado warnings were occurring in the area! My husband ultimately had to pick them up from a gas station. INEXPERIENCED TEENAGE DRIVERS ON A HIGHWAY DURING TORNADO WARNINGS! This is a DRIVER SAFETY EDUCATION COMPANY! The irony is absolutely unbelievable. My boys attended class, studied, practiced, and worked hard. They deserved instructors who treated them with patience, respect, and professionalism. Instead, I spent weeks dealing with canceled appointments, inappropriate comments, testing problems, unnecessary fees, and serious safety concerns. TO ALL STAR DRIVER EDUCATION: You teach teenagers responsibility, respect, following rules, and making safe decisions. Perhaps your own employees should practice what they teach! PARENTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH CHILDREN WHO REQUIRE ACCOMMODATIONS, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE ENROLLING HERE. My children deserved better. ALL STAR? MORE LIKE NO STAR! ONE STAR. AND THAT'S GENEROUS.
