How wrong I was. To start with the fact that the winery owner was the one that personally came to pick us up at the hotel. On the way to the destination he was very friendly and informative on the area. Upon our arrival we met our guide Juan, I must say this young man was an encyclopedia of knowledge and was extremely thorough on his explanation from the beginning to the end of the wine making process. Although it was just myself and my wife on the tour, they gave us the full, detailed tour. Needless to say, this made us feel very special. The views are breathtaking and the wines delicious. We ended up buying some bottles, not due to pressure but because of the amazing organic wines. A must do while in Ronda.

The Tapa that was recommended was the Oxtail so ordered that with Patatas Bravas. I really needed a Cafe Con Leche also which was delicious! The best one I've had for this trip. Oxtail came out with a side of fries. It has a Short Rib texture and was very rich/fatty. Enjoyed it! Fries didn't deserve to be on the same plate and were underwhelming. Patatas Bravas with the slightly spicy sauce, on the other hand, were so much better- Maybe make this the side for the Ox Tail? Service was quick and upbeat which was perfect as, again, I was in a rush. They have an elevator and the food is coming from the kitchen upstairs so great to see the hustle.

We had four different wines and learned about the differences between Ribera and Rioja wines. I have always been a fan of Rioja and we had a delightful that was called Xanum Vinae Rioja. It was fantastic. We had a type of manchego cheese with the first two less aged wines and went on to a stronger cheese once we had two more aged wines. I strongly suggest going to a tasting! (From the Moscatos and Pedro Ximenez Grapes). You can also get a Semi-Sweet or Dry. We had a mix of orders. I went for the Semi-Sweet and it was quite sweet. 20% ABV so made for sipping. Vermouth is also available. For Tapas, we had Tuna Tartare and Cheese Skewers which were delicious. The Spiced Pepper started out mild and had a spicy finish. Service was quick and friendly.
