There was no one waiting, which made the situation feel very dismissive. What made this experience so frustrating is that the Sharkey's location in South Jordan has done the same style before without charging extra and without any issue. The lack of honesty and customer service here was really disappointing, especially when it involved my child. We left feeling unwelcome and won't be returning to the Murray location. If I owned this salon, I would want to know if a stylist was treating customers this way.

I have very curly, dark hair that is usually highlighted and can be very hard to maintain especially because I straighten my hair regularly. My hair has never been managed well at other salons. Katie has given me great hair care, product advice and with consistent hair treatment visits, I'm able to enjoy my highlights and my hair has NEVER looked better. I'm so grateful to her as my healthy hair journey has been long and frustrating. I truly believe having a knowledgeable stylist who cares about your specific needs is half the battle. We brought our daughter in for a haircut, and during the appointment the stylist told us she had lice eggs. She did take a second look to confirm, but was very confident in her diagnosis and unwilling to consider any possibility that it could be something else. She quickly rushed to finish the haircut and then told us we needed to leave immediately. To make matters worse, we also had our other daughter there for a haircut, and the staff refused to help her as well. We were essentially turned away on the spot, which was not only inconvenient but honestly very embarrassing--especially for our kids. Concerned, we went straight to a professional lice clinic for confirmation. They thoroughly evaluated her and confirmed that it was not lice, but simply product buildup. When we returned to explain the misdiagnosis, the salon did apologize, but still refused to issue any refund or take meaningful responsibility for the situation. I understand mistakes can happen--but how a business handles them matters. Between the rushed service, the misdiagnosis, and the refusal to make things right, the overall experience was very disappointing. When I checked in, the nice girl at the desk didn't know what to do, but told me they have "a 7 minutes late rule". She stated that I could cancel or wait to see if there are "any openings". So, maybe I will sit there until they close without a haircut? She also told me that other people were "on time, so they get service first". Even though they showed up 15 minutes early, during our slot. I stated what I was told about the seven minutes late rule. I asked "what is the point of even making an appointment if they will just give away the slot?". She shrugged it off and everyone had just started a haircut, so minimum would be 15 minutes, but all slots were filled, so it may not happen at all. Then I was told that my appointment was at 3:30, even though the confirmation email clearly said 3:45. Needless to say, I got frustrated and wasn't willing to see if they could "fit us in". I cancelled the appointment. I get that everyone is super young and maybe ill prepared for a negative situation that they create.
