Hotel Horror: Bed Bugs/ Double charging and Rude/ unprofessional Service…read more A hotel stay turned into a nightmare as bed bugs infested the room, accompanied by double charging me the minute I walked in, stating my first payment had been declined when my full payment was done two weeks ago, rude and unhelpful customer service by the General Manager ( Lleana Ramirez)). This review recounts the distressing ordeal, leaving me violated and disappointed. Bed Bugs and Rude Service: The hotel staff's response to the bed bug complaint was appalling. It to Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy aggravated the situation, making me feel like an inconvenience. Lack of Urgency and Accountability: The staff showed no urgency in addressing the issue and took no responsibility for the inconvenience caused. Requests for a room change or pest control( no proof they did check). assistance were met with indifference, leaving me helpless. Ineffectual Solutions and Unprofessionalism: The attempted pest control treatment was ineffective, and the exterminators displayed unprofessional behavior. They rushed through the process, disregarded my concerns, and provided no guidance or follow-up. Disrespectful Attitude and Lack of Care: The hotel staff's lack of customer care was disheartening. Instead of treating my concerns with respect, I faced condescending remarks and a dismissive attitude from the maintenance personnel ( Jesus). I felt disrespected and deeply disappointed. In conclusion, This hotel experience was a nightmare, with bed bugs and rude customer service. The staff's dismissiveness, lack of urgency, and ineffective solutions left me violated and abandoned. It took 2 hours to speak to the manager Lleana Ramirez, she stated it took her the time it did because she was with an employee that had lost her daughter ( disclosing personal information )and her employees came first. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel and recommend seeking accommodations that prioritize guest satisfaction and demonstrate professionalism in resolving issues promptly and respectfully. DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!

I am impressed! Fast, friendly check in! Room was huge, bright and comfortable, loved the black out shades, comfy beds and plenty of room to work out! Large TV with plenty of channel selections, large shower and sink area - all good! As an Ambassador member they left a very generous gift basket loaded with snacks and drinks which was a nice gesture! They have a bar downstairs and small restaurant though I did not try it! Great location, close to shops and restaurants! Will definitely stay here again!

UPDATE: 3 days after my review, I received an email from 'Giselle Perez' apologizing for the…read moreissues I experienced. Pretty much the standard 'we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations . . .' Then she also indicated she was going to add loyalty points to my account. Okay - good gesture - props for addressing and trying to 'make it right'. Then a few days later a pending credit to my credit card showed up in the amount Inwas charged for the room and I was really impressed . . . But the pending credit disappeared the next day . . . and no loyalty points have been added to my account. I contacted Marriott Bonvoy and was told that points like that post in a few days. So - unfortunately - this property made a bad experience even worse! The initial review: So - positives and negatives. After having WiFi, streaming and plug-in/USB issues at the last 3 Marriott properties we've stayed at, we figured we'd give this place a try since part of their business model is open-concept and technology. The outside of the property was nicely done with different life-sized statues. The inside was very open and looked nice. The staff at check-in were friendly. The room itself was very open concept - not my usual 'type' of room but it was actually good - very modern as well. Plenty of USB and plug-ins which was good. The bed was ok - not great - much softer than we generally like but not too bad. The pillows were heavy and full-sized -- a big plus given the industry trend towards tiny wimpy pillows. The one nightstand had a 'music station' that looked like and old-fashioned radio but which is designed to use your device to play music. Nice - but it took up 90% of the nightstand. The bathroom was fine - no issues at all - plenty of counter space and a shelf underneath. That's where the good parts end. Given the streaming issues we've had at Marriott properties lately we tried the streaming - and - it would not work. It simply would not go into any screen to allow signing in - not for any streaming platform. They sent someone to look at it and said they had to 'escalate' it. So - same story as the other properties, but it was worse here because the streaming and technology is a BIG part of their business model. So - we tried the 'regular' tv. Unfortunately, while the menu showed channels, there was no program guide so you literally had to flip through every channel to see what was on. Again, very disappointing especially given their business model. Then, at 3:47 am, we heard an extremely loud voice - sounded like they were in our room. We kinda freaked out and then we realized there was nobody in the room but it was clearly someone speaking VERY loudly from in our room. After turning on all the lights, we found the hotel's walkie talkie that they left behind the microwave when they were trying to fix the television/streaming. It was cranked up to max volume and someone was talking on it. Neither of us were able to go back to sleep and when we went downstairs to go to our morning meeting we took the walkie talkie to the front desk. Clearly they were confused but no real apology at all. So - once again a Marriott property has some issues. We are thinking it's time to cut ties with Marriott despite our rewards status with them. Something has really, really changed at Marriott properties the past year.

I can go on and on but here we go. 1. When we first got…read morethere we had a front desk employee his name was William. (We got there Friday afternoon) His customer service wasn't the best but anyway moving on to the room we get to the room and turn on the AC (yes I know you need to give it time for the room to get cold) but after a couple of minutes of turning it on there was a lot of HEAT coming from the actual ac unit and smelled like something was burning! Me having 3 kids did not want them to smell that burning smell so i called William at the front desk and he told me he was going to switch me rooms. I turned off the ac and went downstairs. William then switched me to another room Right Next Door to the room that smelt like burn. 2. The new room was very poorly kept. The chair was broken. The ac was broken. There were black marks on the walls. After constantly fiddling with the ac it worked but at this point my kids were tired and ready to take a nap. So we stayed there. 3. Saturday; BOTH elevators were broken!!! This was just the icing on the cake for me. The elevator on the left was broken when we got there but the one on the right broke apparently Saturday and everytime we had to go to our room we had to go to the third floor with 3 kids. One is an infant so of course we had to go up the stairs carrying her! Keep in mind it's sooo hot outside and there NO AC IN THE STAIRWELL!!! 4. Finally, Sunday I was ready to leave this hotel! When checking out I showed all pictures to Marcelino (new front desk) (his attitude was much more empathetic and sweet) I always take pictures of things that were broken/wrong with the room the day I go to it. And he had no words for why the room was so poorly kept. Yes bed was comfy, location was the only good thing about this hotel but tbh I rather drive all over town to get to the mall or anything than to stay here again. The amount I paid is ridiculous due to the conditions of this whole hotel! Never have I been to a la Quinta with these poor conditions .

We got our stuff done at the consulate, and she kept our luggage behind the desk for us to pick it up when we came back. The room was fantastic, the people there were awesome! Thank you Jessica and the manager on duty!

Oh, another FTR...hehe…read more I got a room with two queen beds to do some sweet plyometrics, leaping from mattress to mattress. Just kidding. No hotel bar or restaurant on site, but there's plenty of snacks in the vending machine. Pool & jacuzzi look nice to unwind especially after a long South Texas day. The fitness room has the basics: treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, nautilus-type multi-gym machine, and a tv. There's a 1/1 laundry room. $1 per wash, $1 per dry. There's a Target and Wal-Mart down the road if you need essentials, or want to stock up your fridge. There's the complimentary breakfast, if you have the time, or an iron stomach. I do like that their waffle iron is in the shape of Texas [http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jsTfubVoClWJ9l_Mysu63g?select=K7M9zU7pKnl51HbuPGWY5A#GSp2R2x1gvsjkX6XZmBWuw]. I heart a couple of cutie patootie desk attendants at La Quinta. Me and the coworkers always see at least one of them before and/or after work. They get bored sometimes, so they're cool to chitchat with when they're not busy. The staff in general is very polite and proper. Love that. The room, while has its signs of wear and tear, is reasonably tidy and isn't awful. There's wi-fi, the air conditioner works, and there's a mini-fridge. I've stayed in #225 and the bathtub drain doesn't work so well, but #207 doesn't seem to have that problem, however the fridge doesn't get quite as cold and the digital thermostat display doesn't work. This La Quinta is swell. While the building is old and lacks some full service amenities, the people are super nice and it has just enough to meet your basic needs.

One associate was short on answering questions and not very helpful. The room was clean but not prepared. They didn't have bedding for pull out and not enough towels. I asked if it isn't customary to have the items when you know the amount of people checking will require use of the pull out. He said oh I don't know. No emotion not apologetic. Breakfast was terrible. Dry and cold omelets. Literally cold to touch turkey sausage patties. Coffee was warm. We stayed after a New Year's Eve party but since we don't drink and I was with my senior parents we were up early and heading down to breakfast. We could see a young woman with her clipboard knocking so loud on doors at 7 am, New Year's Day asking people if they are checking out at 11 or what? She was so rude!! I have never ever stayed at a hotel when Staff does this. She was knocking and trying to unlock door so fast before people had a change to ask who is it! We witness her do this three times. Omer had the farthest room down the hall. I was so disappointed this would happen at all but especially on New Year's Day. I am an IHG member and have late check out privileges. I don't think, if my parents were trying to sleep in late I would be so kind if she had come knocking on our door. This is a location we would NEVER return to.
