They weigh the bins, and you get paid. simple as that. If you can't unload your items yourself, bring a friend. They're already plenty busy. Using these services not only keeps waste out of the landfill, but also saves you a ton of money on disposal fees!

A $10 fee was charged for the TV, everything else was free. New COVID procedures include face masks required, no TVs or appliances over 50 lbs or too heavy for one person to carry (for social distancing), credit and debit cards only (no AMEX), and stay in your car. Very smooth and painless. When you are waved in to the next slot, make sure you turn off your engine so the staff aren't breathing carbon monoxide all day! :)

When you drive up, you basically just drive to the very end of the road, and then into the parking lot/yard. There are huge piles of various items around, but on the left is the office and an unloading area. I had no idea what to do, so I just went into the office. I was told to move my van and then wait for an attendant. I did, and they eventually had me move again, then they unloaded my van, weighed the items, and gave me a paper to take to the office. I went to the office, and they gave me a check for my items. It was something like $11 for the metal, minus a $5 charge for the microwave. Honestly, I was just glad to get rid of the junk, I didn't care that I was getting paid for it. What I was most impressed by - every single person that I talked to or saw was so nice and friendly - even to each other. They were kind, thoughtful, hardworking... My sister and my 4 year old were with me, and they watched the big machinery while I was doing everything, and many people waved or stopped to say hi. I was so impressed. I actually left feeling really good. As an aside: they seem to get some cool stuff dumped there, so in the unloading area and in the office there is some neat stuff to see.
