They were thorough, caring, and helped us feel that Milo was truly in good hands during one of the worst experiences we have ever gone through. I don't blame a facility because they couldn't save/fix my pet nor do I praise them for just doing what they were trained for. I'll just say I don't think they made any mistakes in diagnosing/treating my pet and I was satisified with service overall. Place is clean and conveniently located right off 395 in Central-South Reno. Our cat was immediately taken back for observation. The place wasn't crowded when we were there maybe only 1 or 2 other customers. Doctor consultation about 10 minutes later. Doctor listened carefully and made clear understandable explanations. Next they send someone in with the estimated bill (it's a range) and ask to take a deposit. It's not really a deposit in the traditional sense. It is more like a prepayment. An example might be your cost is estimated at $1,500-$2000. The "deposit" is the lower end of the total estimated cost $1500. That makes sense. If your pet ends up needing to be euthanised, there's a risk the owner isn't going to pay the balance for a pet they don't have anymore. They do tell you if you call on the phone, the emergency exam fee is $195. But I suspect in most cases that will be a drop in the bucket of your total cost depending on what you are dealing with. I had been chatting with ChatGPT providing all the details of the symptoms I was observing with my pet. When she handed me the projected bill, I took a photo of it and fed it to ChatGPT and asked if any of the multitude of tests were really that necessary. There were 4 line items that ChatGPT identified were of questionable value given the details of the cats symptoms. I crossed them out, and the doctor returned and we ended up agreeing to remove two and keep the other two. I'm not going to blindly follow ChatGPT on these types of decisions but in this case it provided a valueable second opinion to bounce off the doctor for further discussion. Saved us $700. The doctor in any clinic, emergency or not, is usually going to present you with all tests/treatment options that might be relevant to diagnosing/treating your pet. It's up to the pet owner to decide whether they want a deeper understanding of each cost and how necessary/beneficial it is at that stage of the care and any risks or downside of opting out of a particular test/treatment. Anyone who has gone to an emergency room (for people) knows, it is astronomically expensive. Animal ERs are no different except most are likely paying the full bill without pet insurance. You are paying a very high premium for quick evaluation, test results, and if necessary 24/7 monitored care. You can easily get into the low to mid 4 figures in most cases. We received phone calls 4 times over a 24-hr period on the status of our pet which was nice, but sort of the minimum you would expect when a 24/7 monitored hospital stay is $880 a day ($37/hr.) My only criticism of this facility is many of the tests are the same ones I can get at my normal vet and also get results back in the same timeframe. When I compared to a previous vet bill those same tests are considerably more expensive here. This is not to say some tests/procedures done here are either not available at a standard vet clinic or done a lot faster. But the ones I could compare apples to apples, this place was a lot more expensive, for what practical reason? And because of that, I can't in good conscious round a 4.5 up to 5 in this case. One might argue prices are likely comparable to other 24-hr emergency care clinics realizing if your pet is critically ill, it's not really feasible in most (not all) cases to say "I'll get those tests done later at my regular Vet." You're desperate to help your pet. The service overall was good with a mostly expected large sting in the pocketbook. But if you aren't experiencing a life threatening emergency and can get your pet into a regular vet soon enough, it is likely considerably cheaper than this place.

I read the reviews for this urgent care and the reviews are great. I love that we can sign up and wait at home. When it was time, they texted us to head over. It's so great and less traumatic for our pet. The staff is very friendly. We got checked in by Cruz he's very friendly and out my dog at ease. My dog sometimes doesn't do well with men. Dr. Josh Mull was so great. He also put our dog at ease. Gave us a treatment plan and an estimate. He re stitched our dogs paw and called when completed. Cruz was so detailed when I picked up my pup. Within two days, I had dropped my boys off for their free intro play date. I could tell immediately when I picked them up, they were happy and had a great day! I was sold on this place after I saw how happy they were and I bought a play package. What's great about this place over others I've used over the years is you don't have to make an appointment for play dates!! So I can decide to drop off my boys any day at any time! I can wake up one day and decide-I feel lazy and want a quiet day and drop them off. I also like how it's curbside drop off and pick up. You park, call and someone come out to get my boys. So easy! I love not having to go inside. I also like how many employees they have staffed and how friendly everyone I've met has been.

The shaver got away from one of their employees and that employee was not honest enough to report it. And if it was reported to his or her employer when we picked up our precious dog the incident was ignored and she was handed over to us like nothing ever happened. Now, a few months later she still has the large bald spot on the back of her hind leg where no hair has grown.. Her tail is completely butchered it hasn't grown out to its " beautiful fan wave" for a Collie after all this time. " I cant imagine what she was put through" being there! Our two year old male dog the most loving ever had his face completely missed his beard went over his lip. I trimmed it myself. I'm grateful our male dog hadn't gone through the trauma our precious female had gone through. I personally feel that someone there ( management) should be taking responsibility by checking while dogs are being groomed by ( newbies ) or any employee in any manner. I feel my female dog was left with a newbie and was not given the attention to this employee that he or she needed with managing. My daughter and I were under the impression that the woman that met us outside( same woman that groomed twice before ) asked how we'd like their grooming taken care of would be the one attending to both our dogs we trusted her grooming since she had done both our dogs twice before and we were happy with their outcome We had made recommendations to friends about Animal Oasis.We put our trust in the woman who greeted us who seemed interested in our concerns towards their grooming. This business failed my dogs and us. We should have looked at the grooming before paying the $100.00 per dog and not given the tips. I've never had to write up a complaint I waited hoping my female dog would grow her beautiful hair back to its original shape " Not" ! The Animal Oasis deserves this complaint. This beautiful puppers not only live hunting but he was a family protector, a loved side kick, and is the father of my beloved puppy. I was desperate to find a vet that would understand that he is just not a pet he is a beloved family member. The staff at Fairgrounds truly understood how much he meant to our family. They not only treated this beautiful puppy as though he was a family member but were able to understand the pain our family was going through. They didn't make me feel rushed I saying goodbye to our beloved family member but they also thought of our pain. They light a candle for Walker to let others know we were losing saying goodbye but they also provided us with a flower and a tag with his name and sending us paw prints and hair cuttings so we can create shadow boxes for all this that loved him. The doctor that assisted in granting this baby peace was so kind and understanding. The tech that was with me stayed until I was ready to let him go. He even spent time consoling me and made sure to assist me to find peace in the passing! They have gained a long time customer and there are no words I can say for how much Thank you all!

I knew they always had my baby's best interest at heart and provided the best care for him they could, which makes up for any delays we experienced.
