I didn't choose this clinic, thought I'd clarify that since we're here. My health plan sent me here but I had high hopes even though the reviews are bad. The bad reviews are all true..I experienced it myself, 3 visits here and all were just horrible. But they won't see me here no more.. Dr.Mehta is one of the rudest, most unprofessional doctors I have ever encountered. Screams like a psycho so much so that the people out front waiting in the lobby heard him and asked me if everything was okay. He got mad that I forgot my used prescription bottle and went on some wild rant that was unnecessary. That was one event. Second time, he straight up asked what did I want from them. Hmmm this is a pain management clinic, do you not see my profile, my mri results, my patient history? Do I have to tell you(The Doctor) your job? Based on prior experiences, most doctors gather information and see how to proceed forward, do this or do that, etc. This third time I was seen by the PA..she was more cordial than Dr.Mehta but not once did she ask how I was doing, no treatment plan, no nothing, she did what Dr.Mehta did, ask what I wanted from them. Aren't they the providers? Aren't they supposed to decide what we need? How we're feeling or where to go from there? I had to tell The PA and the doctor, I am here for possibly cortisone shots, referrals and possibly prescriptions. The PA walked out, said she was going to get my authorization for a cortisone shot and never came back. Never said thank you, hello goodbye, nothing. After being seen by a very wonderful pain management clinic 2 years prior, to be sent here is just depressing. If you're ok with being demeaned by a Doctor, a professional, who has to ask you what you want at each visit then this Doctor is for you. I prefer to see a doctor who makes his own assessment on the patient and then decides what treatment plan to go with. A smile and some courtesy would be good too. First time I came here I saw Dr. M. who didn't even take the time to understand my condition; marking me down as a lower back pai patients when I have severe endometriosis, PCS, and PCOS. Dr M. was condescending, rude and didn't let me explain my situation and then jumped down my throat as a first time patient saying "I'm not going to give you pain meds, you can try injections"... injections they get paid to push that really don't do much. The second time I came to these clinics I saw Joanna who was a god send when I needed her most and truly tried to help with my pain and spoke so kindly to me I saw her as a friend instead of my Dr. I have 0 complaints about Joanna nor Austin they're truly amazing PAs and care unlike this Los Angeles office. So long story long, I went In this office one day after a routine drug test showed positive for morphine. Morphine the emergency department gave me through an IV when my usual pain meds weren't enough. I was instructed by this call center you get when you call to go into the er since they had no appointments for an entire month and 3 days due to overbooking and Drs being out of town. So I did, and then I brought my paperwork in showing the time and date to which the morphine was given straight off my patient portal and discharge papers. I might also add that when I saw Joanna she prescribed me morphine tablets to have on hand after surgery or when pain got to bad my usually Percocet wouldn't help so I had taken 1 here and there when pain did get worse. Now here's where I'm upset... Apparently despite my documented proof of being both prescribed that med as well as being given it at the er due to their advice and overbooking I was sent to see Dr Tan because he's not a PA he's an actual Dr (a very bad one imo) because my DT showed the morphine. So I went in and let tell you first hand how awful this Dr was to me. He walked in with a very hostile attitude and began accusing me of taking meds I shouldn't be taking DESPITE him having my records that show when and where I was given this med, DESPITE having access to a computer that shows every med I've been given and by whom. He then proceeded to tell me that despite me signing every med releases paper they've given me that he was "unable" to get my records and expected me to once again bring the same papers he already has to him again. Here's the real wtf to me, he then began to express HIS frustration with my OBGYN and PC Dr because they aren't doing some kind of surgery to "fix my issue". Which if he would read my case notes and medical history he has he would know that the endometriosis has spread to other organs/places to which surgery wouldn't help at this point and he figured these reasons were cause enough to completely stop my opiates one day, the same meds that I've been taking for about 4 years. Meds I begged to be changed because even those felt as if I was just taking an OTC ibuprofen the pain is so horrendous. Guess what came next? "The only thing we can do for you is our injections" I came here after a similar injection caused more pain than good. I've told them this as well. But of course they get paid extra by our insurance companies to push these useless shots so go figure that would be the "only" thing he could do. Smh. DR TAN caused so many issues in my care as well as causing awful side effects from deciding to completely stop my medication because his office lacks the ability to get med records or simply communicate with each other or their patients. His greed truly comes before any understanding or compassion for his patients. I haven't been back to this PMC since then. I don't think these Drs understand that by treating people in this manner they could be pushing someone to commit suicide, or seek outdangerous street drugs due to the lack of ease and ability to have access to pain medication to control their pain. Let's be really honest here, for many pain patients these meds aren't used to feel high because our pain is absolutely horrible that we've turned to these Drs for help just to get through the day a little easier but we're still in pain while we do! Needless to say I urge everyone to steer clear of this practice, these completely corrupt Drs who have no care or compassion let alone understanding of what's going on with even half their patients. I have filed a complaint with my insurance as well as speaking to a few pain management advocates to whom all say the same thing, many PMCs operate this way sadly that's how you can tell which is going to be a bad or good one. My insurance has told me that this is not okay and they don't agree with Drs working in this matter and urged me file a complaint as well as speak with one of their advocates as well and I'm currently going through that process now.

Everything is pretty much hypothetical with no treatment plan until they go through MRIs, so honestly I wouldn't even go until you have it. Saves you the cost on an entire visit. Also, please ask for your MRI reports. The doctor is super friendly, but they will only discuss matters associated with your accident. There could be major things on that MRI that you would 100% want to know or follow up with your primary about. You definitely should prepare to be proactive in order for anything to be seamless.

When I needed more follow up treatment I was seen by Dr. Yih and was pleasantly surprised with his knowledge regarding procedures best for my condition. I had a procedure in September of 2024 at which time he said the treatment should last at least 2 months. To my surprise, it lasted well over 6 months! Since then, I have tried some PT and oral medications which have unfortunately not worked for me. Back to tried and true.
