During my examination, Dr. Gruver pressed on my ribs. I immediately told him, "Ow, that hurts." Rather than stopping or reducing the pressure, he pressed significantly harder, causing even more pain. I left the appointment experiencing severe rib pain. When I asked reasonable questions about my mid-back injuries, possible treatment options, and what he had documented in my medical records, I felt dismissed and disrespected. He even characterized my request to understand my own medical notes as "strange." To make matters worse, I was told I was no longer welcome at the practice after expressing my concerns. I went to this appointment seeking medical care and left with increased physical pain, severe emotional distress, and serious concerns about how I was treated. In my opinion, this was one of the most disturbing and unprofessional medical encounters I have experienced. I believe patients deserve compassion, respect, transparency, and appropriate responses when they report pain. Based on my personal experience, I strongly do not recommend Dr. Gruver.

Also, please ask for your MRI reports. The doctor is super friendly, but they will only discuss matters associated with your accident. There could be major things on that MRI that you would 100% want to know or follow up with your primary about. You definitely should prepare to be proactive in order for anything to be seamless.
