UPDATE: 2 weeks ago i had a bad run in with evon, from evon nail salon. now i wouldn't usually keep writing bad reviews for an establishment, let me first say that. i am a respectable customer and if you do a good job on my nails i am loyal for life. that being said, my experience with evon nail salon was just the beginning. this is a 2-week update on my experience and i felt the need to share to prevent anyone else from having the same fate as i now have had to suffer through. this woman's tools were NOT CLEAN! i blew it off at the time because she took me in on a sunday, and she was nice to me. but now that this has happened i feel the need to tell my full story...on the day of the 1st of january i went into this very cold salon to hopefully come out with a good manicure and a decent set of nails at a decent price...i was wrong. let me first start off by explaining my experience. this woman is very elderly, not the problem. but when i was getting my nails done by this woman i realized as she was filing down my nails that A: she wasnt wearing sanitary gloves or a mask. and come to think of it now, im kicking myself for just blowing this off but...ok she had sh*t under her nails, like packed...and i should have walked out then and there...but i didnt want to embarrass her, so i stayed. but she brought her dremel out and it was just packed with nail dust like she hadn't cleaned it in MONTHS. again, another red flag. but the topper, didnt even hit me until after i got my nails done. im going to insert a picture of the result of what has been happening to me for the past two weeks. theres a reason why a legal nail salon will put their equipment in a sanitary oven to remove any bacteria, and this lady didnt do that. so as you see, my middle finger has basically rotted off from what started out to be a very small nick from her dremel. i woke up this morning with an excruciating pain in my finger, and after a while of trying to relieve the problem, i saw something that had me rushing to my husband (an army vet) to help me properly care for my finger. without getting to gruesome, i think you can see from the photo the amount of skin rot and infection that just ate through my finger these past two weeks while i was just none the wiser. moral of the story? wash your hands!, dont get your nails done by some shifty Kanata Niese woman in her pajamas. and if you clearly notice an unsanitary environment around you, especially when it comes down to that equipment being used on you, dont blow it off to be nice. your health is more important than superficial beauty. read more

I'm not the type of person to go get my nails done but when I do I really try to find somewhere that does them as well as if they was the ones to be wearing them, when we showed up she got us right in but was not inviting at all. The whole time I was there I felt rushed and ashamed be cause when I told her I didn't like what she picked out when it was completely different from what I wanted she said it was ugly and yelled at me I don't appreciate the shaming and definitely didn't appreciate the disrespect I received while asking her to fix what she messed up. I went in with no nails on but did have red still left over on my real nail from my old set she failed to remove the color and refused to use a darker pink to fix her mistake and thats when she proceeded to tell me my taste was ugly it took my friend speaking up for me to get her to agree but instead of a new color she put the same transparent one on and said better with a death look so and I held my anger back I said sure just finish them I'm currently going to have them removed and redone they aren't even save able don't waist ur time and money here read more

I went to Evon nails over the weekend as my usual salon is closed on vacation. In 5 days, several of the nails have already come off. It should have been my first sign to leave when she put the set on and two of the nails tore simply by her buffing the top of them prior to putting on anything over the top of them. The nails she uses are quite thin and flimsy. I had noticed she has in her shop the powdered colors, which I normally get, and opted to go with that. She put no base under the color. I normally have powdered done at my usual salon and I knew this wasn't right as there's normally 2-3 coats of the base put on prior to the colored powder. Not only does this make the nails sturdier, but it makes it so you can change colors as they grow out without having to drill the color off to the nail itself. I mentioned this to her and she said no, it's just the color. Then she only put on 2 layers of the color. So I have 2 thin layers of color over a flimsy nail set and she actually thinks she has done this correctly. Needless to say, the first nail popped off 2 nights ago. Another one ripped this morning and it's been downhill since then. Don't waste your money. read more
