I called to have someone come by and take a look at issues with my mini-splits, Mike came within a couple days and was very thorough with his inspection and was very professional. He said it would take a day or two to get back to me with an estimate and for them to fill out a one-page document for my insurance company. I never heard back. I've called got someone on the phone who said they would call me back and never did. I left voicemails, emailed, texted (this is a service they provide), and never got an estimate or the paperwork after one month of waiting. It took a little while to get scheduling worked out, but everyone (both office staff and technicians) was friendly and up-front with explanations. The team showed up exactly on time, got done on schedule (they gave me a heads up that they might need to be back for a second day, but managed to get everything finished in the same day anyway), and made sure I was in the loop throughout the whole process. Our toilet was running so it wasn't an urgent repair and I was hoping to get an estimate. On the phone I was told that I couldn't get an estimate until the plumber arrived. When the plumber arrived he said the visit to the house cost a certain amount (well over $100 but I forget the exact number) regardless of whether he did the work. I found this frustrating. The good part is the the plumber came (during the April stay-at-home time) was pleasant and the toilet no longer runs. The bad: (1) The person I spoke with on the phone was not clear with me about cost. (2) The toilet's water level is too low and it now occasionally splashes when it flushes which is gross. It's probably an easy fix but I don't want to mess with it. read more

They first scheduled me for a estimate visit for an Oil to Gas conversion on a certain day but then the visit time was changed at the last minute. I was able to move work around to make the new time work. The estimator came on site without a notepad or a measuring tape unlike any of the other companies that came on site to provide an estimate especially as it was a bigger project. It's been over a month and a half and multiple calls to their office later, there is still no quote. I guess they are so busy that they can't get quotes out. Maybe, don't send estimators out when you can't provide a quote? read more

This is an amazing company! I was very nervous about a huge HVAC project that we wanted to undertake when we bought our 1890's house- converting from oil/steam radiators to gas forced air and central AC and replacing the failing water heater too. It was a challenging job and we met with several companies. Some were confused on how to approach it, others never even wrote the estimate as they didn't seem to want to take on such a big job. Jason, the owner at Evolved, on the other hand was personable, confident and had amazing attention to detail in coming up with the best plan for our old and quirky house. He even pointed out important ventilation issues to make sure the new system did cause mold in the attic- no one else mentioned this. The estimate was delivered to me later that day. While we have not been there during most of the work but we have been blown away by the quality and efficiency of Sam and the rest of the team. Dan and team installed an advanced HVAC system in our house, replacing our old system. The team was friendly and responsive during the quoting process as well as the installation and follow-up, and I enjoyed working with them. The work was done correctly: although I am not an HVAC specialist I am a mechanical engineer and familiarized myself with what should be done and how it should be done during the install. The pricing was good: better than 128 Plumbing and Heating (who priced ~$2k higher, refused to negotiate, and were less than helpful with questions and requests for changes to the quote), and a lot cheaper than Winters Home Services (who wanted $7k more and would not negotiate). In fact I didn't find a cheaper quote for the same system. My only word of caution to others is that the team got off to a rocky start during the install. The ground where the compressor needed to sit was sloped slightly, and they did not have any plan for leveling the ground. I had to get creative and actually go to home depot to get some cinderblocks such that the pad under the compressor would be level. We hadn't really talked about this detail during the quoting process, so I can't blame them, but there is room for more attention to quality and aesthetics here. Additionally, the team forgot a key component, but they were able to locate it and get it the same day, so no big deal. Everything after this went great. They even sent an electrician a couple times for follow-up work to get some things just right which was really above and beyond what I expected... Somehow I just expect every company to try to cut corners so I was pleasantly surprised. Overall Evolved did a great job, and I recommend them. HVAC jobs can be complex though: regardless who you choose definitely take time to learn about the process... read up and watch some videos on HVAC installation. Also be very inquisitive and make sure you talk through the install process and all the components involved during the quoting process. Make sure you communicate your concerns and priorities such as noise levels, any performance issues your old system had, etc. read more

They surveyed the boiler and came to the conclusion that it was not repairable and needed to be replaced. I had already been told this by another company but wanted a second quote. Jason just left my house after doing another great job so I felt compelled to post here. My house was built in 2010 and the plumber who did the initial work clearly took some shortcuts. Thankfully, Jason was able to re-install a leaky and wobbly sink. It's so solid now! This time the upstairs bathroom sink had ZERO water pressure and I was really worried it was going to be a whole ordeal but Jason fixed it in under a minute -- and didn't even charge me! Jason Moriarty is a consummate professional who truly cares about his clients. On the hottest day of the year and at almost 9 months pregnant our A/C decided to fail. Our building management had him come to our apartment for a consult and then when a course of action was decided he came back the same night to fix our A/C unit. He spent hours cleaning the coil and compressor and got us up and running. The next day when the cooling wasn't sufficient he came right back and tweaked our system and stayed until he was comfortable it would improve. He also has an incredible ability to explain how the a/c works (or isn't) and what he is doing to fix it so we felt informed throughout the process. In this sort of heat spell, it was clear he was being pulled a million directions- it didn't phase him, he was organized, works quickly and efficiently but didn't cut a single corner - he truly cares that he does a good job and leaves his clients happy. He was also very clean and respectful of our space (living in Beacon Hill, we had to pull water from our washer hook up and run it to the roof, he cleaned up and put everything back as he found it!)
