The office felt very safe with the Covid-19 restrictions in place. Also, I really appreciated the focus Dr. Adams provided and the constant feedback during treatments. He truly took the necessary time to delve into and address the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptom. I got athletes foot, which snowballed into toe nail fungus, which later in life made me more susceptible to fungal and skin infections. Eww. Went to my M.D. --- Oh yeah, well we have prescription Lamasil, but you need blood tests and it may kill you. Well only 1 in 10,000 die from it sooo, you can take that. Covered by your insurance! Yay. Option 2: Contracted staph from a playing Jiu-Jitsu at several places in town. Went to the M.D. ---Okay, we got it, prescription Lamasil topical cream, just rub this everywhere. IT MADE MY HAIR FALL OUT! I'm 30, so that can start to happen, but c'mon, tell me what the stuff is going to do! Argh. Now I'm shopping for rogaine. Went to see GroundSpring. "Do you have anything?" Oh sure, just take this herb twice a day and EVERYTHING will go away. Now understand that I had cracked flaky skin on my hands, red spots on my neck and chest, athletes foot, the whole gamut. I met with Sam, and we worked on a recovery plan involving PRP. Within 8-10 week I was fully healed, lifting weights, doing pull-ups, living life like it never happened. I later went on to utilize the same approach on multiple other tendinopathy issues with Sam. Recently (Oct. 2025) I had a rotator cuff flare up and once again PT just wasn't cutting it for my recovery. I found out Dr. Sam had opened his own clinic, met with him, and he meticulously combed through my shoulder with the ultrasound device and we pinpointed some definite spots that needed some love. The way that she put the screws in lifted the bones apart, leaving a gap that was too large for the bones to join back together. He had to redo the surgery, remove the screws, do a bone graft, and put in a plate. Lara Atwater gave me false hope and never admitted that she botched my surgery. I am so glad that I found an honest surgeon who could fix her mistake. I would never go back to Dr. Atwater after all of the pain and suffering she put me through. Throughout the experience, she exhibited extreme self-confidence in her abilities...don't get sucked in like I did.

I have been trying for three weeks now to get a simple statement showing my payments to MFCC for FSA substantiation and just now received an email bounceback that their office is closed all week. Firstly, it's impossible to reach the front desk - voicemail only. Then they call you back from an unlisted number, so it's impossible to know who is calling. Argh. Then, the doctor requires that you submit new patient paperwork via email for her to review before you are allowed to make an appointment. The reason given is that she might decide she doesn't think you fit in her practice. It then takes a week to hear back after emailing over the paperwork. after which, you need to follow up with them, if you want an appointment. No courtesy call the day before to remind you there's an appointment, so you call to see what's doing there and have to let it ring out and call again. Receptionist answers finally and confirms yes, you do have an appointment. You arrive 10 minutes early, then wait until 25 mins past the start of your appointment time to speak with the Doctor. The Doctor is thorough and nice (if quite defensive about being called out for being so late). Attempts by staff to draw blood - the student MA's attempt is painful and she aborts mission. (Bruise is already looking pretty gnarly) Bring in the senior tech to have a go at the other arm - who can't find a vein and aborts mission after digging around for a bit. At this stage, I've been at their office for 1 Hr 40 mins. They tell me they will write a script to go to a lab and have blood drawn. Knowing my personal compliance level to find the time to drive to yet another appointment is very low, tell them not to bother. Needless to say, despite friendly student medical assistant and thorough/friendly Doctor, I'm still in the market for a new GP. A busy schedule, low tolerance for being gratuitously poked with needles and a general aversion to waiting = this probably isn't the right place for me.
