I was referred to Dr. King after a fall that caused a concussion this year. The care I received there was vital to my recovery.

There are two basic PT modalities here, and literally two different sides of rooms to accommodate,…read moresuite 361 and 362. John Paul (JP) Fairhart is who you want. He does the more manual therapies and manual resistance, which for my muscle and neurological leg conditions is far more helpful with pain and motion relief than tradition PT. My legs always move a little better after our session and he's more willing to customize what he does to accommodate or focus on your specific needs. I formerly worked with their neurological therapist on the other side and felt extremely let down by her performance. She was nice but was completely focused on just giving you a handout of things to do at home instead of working with you at the facility. I've done years of physical therapy for my chronic conditions and require constant ongoing manual care, being sent home and told to basically do it yourself was not helpful nor encouraging. There are many things that manual and massage therapy can cover that just can't happen with self care. JP helps stretch, massage and bend it out with hands on manipulation, so much more beneficial. On the downside, sessions are only 45 minutes at Providence, which is weird being that most physical therapy places usually offer 60 minutes or more as standard. My previous therapy sessions were 2 hours two - three times a week. Not sure why Providence insists on shorter sessions, it's not enough for manual therapy. As usual the biggest downfall is Providence policies. Eventually I switched to an external PT facility and insurance requires that this office fax a signed letter saying I am no longer receiving care. Not that difficult, could be from anyone in the office. Yet, after 5 or more calls and being passed around from one department to another, nothing is done. I ended up having my PCP from Legacy write a letter, five weeks of delays and I'm hoping things will get approved while I tirelessly go without any physical therapy. If you end up here for PT addressing muscles or nerves, go see JP. He's the only saving grace here.

I gave two stars because the people who work there seem very nice. I've been to the NE Fremont…read morelocation in Beaumont Wilshire for two different problems over a 12 year period of time. The first time I noticed I was overcharged for my copays then months later received a refund. The second time I went there I was overcharged for copayments as well. I need to call them about the refund. What I didn't care for was I only had the physical therapist for 20 - 30 minutes. The warmup was with an assistant then I worked with the PT then was handed back to the assistant to finish the routine. The PT then works with a new client. I just had surgery and decided to go elsewhere to see if there were any differences. For starters they charged the correct copay. Then best of all I spend the entire hour with the PT. I will not be a returning customer to Therapeutic Associates, they seem to be more concerned with maximizing profits than customer care.

As another reviewer said, this is a good place to go if you don't have any goals…read more I was in the earliest phase of recovering from major shoulder surgery which has a long rehab protocol. I was apparently farmed out to assistants and aids. Each visit was chaos with at least 2 and sometimes 3 seemingly random people rotating in and out during my visit, telling me what to do, not providing much in the way of instructions or feedback. Sometimes instructions were contradictory between staff. I repeatedly asked that exercises be written down and put on their patient portal which they did not do. Most of the time I did very little therapy other than to play with hand putty. As best I could tell, there was no organized plan of therapy, or at least it was not shared with me, for the 1st phase of rehab. When I later asked about the contradictory information I was getting, the response was "well you were not made any worse". In summary, if you are serious about your rehab, this isn't the place to go.

Apparently the universe does not want me to walk since I tore my right side Achille's a few months…read moreback which was nearly healed when I fell, spraining my left side ankle. Two years ago I broke the left side ankle but it healed and there was some confusion over all that with the doctors, x-rays etc etc...but the doctors concluded it is "just sprained". I was a tad frustrated when I got here but these amazing folks have been a shining light! First, they had a parking lot with room in it! I live super close by and as a long time resident I just assumed there were no businesses in downtown Beaverton with their own parking. I drove right on past their lot and parked in front of Ava so thankful I managed to grab a space. I was shaking my head when I walked past their lot to go inside. They have made everything so easy, from making my first appointment on. The crazy part was - I was handed the referral sheet from my doctor... I needed to go to a different medical office to get a prescription and another brace which took probably an hour. I get in the car, leaving that location... and get a call from them to schedule my first appointment! I had to call her back since I needed to get all the info which was at my house. Everyone is quick to interact and engage which is just so nice. We are not there for a grand time so kindness helps. And my therapist has been so great listening to me and also genuinely poking and prodding around and constantly reminding me not to push it. I am THAT person with an insane pain tolerance so I will harm myself without even realizing it so I appreciate the reminders.

Zach is a great director, and I love Michele, she is always great to work with! I highly recommend them!
