From the first moment I walked through the door into the studio in 2018, I was warmly welcomed and cared for - each barre instructor I've had the pleasure of working with has asked me if I had injuries and has diligently watched my posture to ensure I didn't aggravate existing, or create new issues. The classes are a wonderful mix of intense strength training using light weights, bands and balls, combined with yoga stretches and breathing. Each instructor is very knowledgeable and well-trained, caring and personality-plus. The physical studio is in a lovely spot downtown and is open, light and airy - a perfect spot to push yourself physically while remaining centered and calm. I only wish I could find something even a fraction this great in my winter home. I highly recommend Barre and Soul.

I was a long-term customer there, with a regular weekly schedule and LOVED the class itself and my usual instructor. The owner very recently downsized to a small studio which made for some really inconvenient changes that are really hard to ignore. The first is parking, the old location had a decent amount available, but the new space in the State Theatre building does make it challenging if you're commuting. The second is the price hike. I used to get my 5 class pass for barre only for $55, which was a steal. Totally would have been okay with a reasonable update to align with competitors but it was hiked to $100 for a 5 class pass, which is really unreasonable in my opinion. Granted this price includes reformer and barre, but for someone who doesn't do reformer classes it's definitely not worth it. The last piece is the class times. They used to have a wide variety and I always had at least 4-6 people in my 5:30p classes. The new space only has classes until 12-12:30 which is truly not helpful for people with jobs! Overall, still a huge fan of barsculpt as a class but not a fan of the new space or business practices.
