I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was the girl who was assisting me was very nice, she needed some assistance from her coworker to complete my filing since she was not familiar with my out of state forms, understandable. After all was completed she had me sign all required forms and told me it would be two to three weeks for my return to post to my account. Fast forward twenty four days later and my return still has not posted to my account. I logged into the IRS website and it showed that they had not received my filing yet. I immediately called Tom's and told them that the IRS did not receive my filing, the girl who answered the phone pulled up my file and said "Oh, we need one more signature from you and we called you about it". I told her I never received a call about needing another signature, I even went into my call log to confirm. She could not tell me who called or when they called. She said I would have to come back in to sign the document that they missed. When I went back into the office to sign I asked her again who called me and when and she said she did not have that information and that if she wanted me to escalate it to Tom that he would not get back to me until after April 15th, this was on March 16th. She handed me the page to sign, no sorry for the inconvenience, no sorry for the delay,no sorry you had to come back in,nothing. I found the way my matter was handled to be deeply unprofessional and lacking in transparency. I was left with serious concerns about the accuracy of the information I received, the way the situation was handled, and the level of accountability demonstrated. I expected professional, ethical, and straightforward treatment from a CPA. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The situation caused unnecessary frustration and significantly damaged my confidence in the professional relationship. I would not recommend this CPA based on my experience. We will be considering using her services going forward, and so should you. Updated review: Received a call from Privi from her personal number shortly after I posted my review. She apologized and explained what happened. Privi sounded very compassionate and offered a free consultation. I will update my review again after our consultation, as after our phone call I am confident the consultation will be quite informative. Initial review on 1/5/2021: Received a call this morning from the secretary to tell me they weren't accepting new clients. Then proceeded to ask me what what service I needed. After explaining she said there would be a $125 consultation fee that would be done over Zoom. I asked if I pay that fee does that mean they would be working with me, the lady proceeded to tell me they cannot work with me. The whole conversation seems very fishy to me.
