The receptionist apologized for the mix up but the physical therapist wasn't available when I showed up for the time I scheduled. ESP is a very hands-on practice which I appreciate. Treatment is done directly by the therapist instead of an assistant. Each therapist is continually increasing their skills by attending workshops and conferences. Lisa Kanning is particularly skilled in problems related to the vestibular system and was most helpful with my bouts of vertigo. I had the good fortune of working with Lisa at Evolution Sports for several months (I had a complicated series of muscle injuries). Week in, week out, she worked with me to figure out a plan of attack. (Not an easy task, given my simultaneous and compounding issues.) She remained flexible with regards to treatments and exhibited her expertise again and again and again. She's passionate about what she does and relates well to her patients. I highly recommend her. Beyond Lisa, the facility and equipment are right up the alley of a gym rat like me. Lisa and I could work on form together, which I could then continue with on my own at my gym. Beyond that, they have every piece of specialized physical therapy equipment I can really imagine. I like that the staff skews younger and energetic (and experienced), but that the clientele ranges widely in age and abilities. The atmosphere is loose, but professional. Morgan, Zach, and Sean were all fantastic to work with. This was my first physical therapy experience, and after dealing with tendon issues for many months in my leg, I wish I had come sooner. I was in town following a Spartan Race where I reinjured by calf with a significant strain. My brother in law had seen Lisa Kanning before and recommended a visit. Lisa was super knowledgeable. She evaluated the injury, even showing me illustrations in a book where she thought the injury was located. Lisa then treated with deep massage, cupping, needles and electric stim. She taped it and made some recommendations. I'm back home now and my legs is healing nicely. I'm super impressed with Lisa and the facilities, and am grateful for her time and expertise. read more

I have had PT from a number of places and this is by far the best. Do not be fooled by the many reviews-- this practice is referral only. Therefore they rely on positive reviews and good experiences to build a customer base. I have been to alternative practices where they have doctors pumping clients in and this builds complacency. I love this business model and they will do very well. I had my rotator cuff repaired, partially torn labrum and ligament and Lisa put me back to full mobility. I also had made occasions where my back would flare up and they would take me with other therapists on short notice, even extending hours. I have also had places where they toggle patients between therapists, and they will never do this unless you need to come at a strange time. Lisa even offered to stay late and come separately to make sure she could get me in. With that being said, the times I was with other therapists, the notes were meticulous and made it just the same. Also, I did the dry needling and suction therapy. Although it looks kind of abstract, with my back and shoulder pain, I have never left feeling so good. Leaps and bounds above any massage I have ever gotten and amazing spot treatment therapy. I even am considering going to their personal training services now that I have completed treatment! I have been receiving physical therapy for the better part of the past two years at 4 different facilities. I have a very complicated shoulder injury that has been operated on two times now. I will say that this facility is unequaled in any of my previous therapy facilities. I have been a routine patient here for years. Erin and Lisa keep me mobile by managing the effects of degenerative disease in my neck and back. Best of the Best - can't recommend Evolution enough. I'm an active 39 year old who tends to push his body to the limit and occasionally go over the limit. I've been to Evolution for 4 separate issues (knee, elbow, shoulder, & personal training) over the last 5 years and each time am assigned a doctorate in physical therapy that seems to know the most effective way to fix & optimize the body. My husband previously went to Evolution Sports due to back pain. He had a good experience and thus recommended that I go due to chronic neck pain and migraines. I worked mostly with Chris B. and although it took some time before feeling more long-term results, I definitely felt that overall I received dedicated treatment, time, and care. I received dry needling several times throughout my neck, head, shoulders, and face for TMJ. The whole team really wants to resolve your issues, not just your symptoms, and take more time with you then just stem and a 20 min appt. WOW! After coming here for a few months, I will never go anywhere else! Evolution Sports is a modern, hands on, high quality therapy place. Their state of the art gym will blow you away right when you walk in. I came here to rehab a knee injury after spending six weeks at larger/hospital type place with many locations throughout Baltimore. I was handed off to several different people and really wasn't making much progress with with my recovery. I came here, had no more than 2 people working with me in several weeks, and was able to take what we did in our sessions and use them at the gym as well! Huge plus that they really push for "Real" exercises that aren't just the typical ones you might expect in a rehab facility. Props to Morgan and his entire staff! You are tremendous! Just to clarify this rating refers to what I was charged for the service that was rendered. Only went twice to this establishment because of the high pricing for those services, of which I could have gotten same results 'without' having done these specific procedures. I know this since I am having success with another physical therapy group. Communication needs to be improved between staff and client, so client can make an educated decision of what options are available to them. Their off site billing leaves a great deal to be desired, and management was not empathetic to the fact that what I was eventually billed was significantly greater than what was quoted to me at the first visit. Management had an opportunity to make things right, but chose to go the route of placing blame on the client for 'not asking the right questions' of the therapist, and stating this was the 'first time ever' a client had mentioned that costs should be discussed 'before' the therapy began....really?? Well, I'm happy I could point out the obvious, since it supposedly had never been addressed before now, not so happy I had to pay Evolution Sports to do it. read more
