We've come here a few times now. We had a few snags the first 2 times with having appointments and not being priority. I do not recommend. I went one night before closing to get a simple tattoo and the artist they set me up with, Max, had a serious attitude and told me he had other things to do that night instead of doing my tattoo. I left and went to American Tattoo Society and got superior service!!!! read more

I had a great experience here. Definitely the cleanest and friendliest tattoo parlor around. I went for a simple black and grey design on my bicep. The tattoo turned out exactly like the stencil. I could never draw lines that straight and precise but Shane did an awesome job. I'd say his years tattooing in the Marine Corps paid off. I can't speak for any other artists or complex designs but I saw some of their work and I would recommend setting up an appointment for any large tattoo. You can walk in for a small one. Mine was a walk in and took an hour for $120. Quality over quantity, you get what you pay for so make it count. read more

After going there 4 times - once for my own tattoos and three for my husbands, we have definitely decided we'd never be going back. My husband had originally gotten a tattoo and then went back to have it touched up. We were told by the artist that he would have to come back a couple more times to get it touched up for different reasons (i.e. him reacting to the white ink and it healing oddly, coming back too early for the original touch up, scar tissue), and when we come back for the touch up he bitched the entire time because "he's never had to do a touch-up more than once"....even though he told us we'd have to come back after the last one! Not to mention, there was a female in the same room getting her ASS tattooed. Who's to say she really wanted someone else in the room, including another guy, while she was getting tattooed? And who's to say that my husband and I wanted to sit there and watch her get her ass tattooed? The appt was originally for 3 but they called to reschedule it for a later time. They should have realized there was a conflict in the schedule and made further arrangements. There were plenty of open rooms to go to, or we would have gladly waited until she was done because I imagine she was at least a little uncomfortable with other people in the room. Nope, he just wanted to get the tattoo done and over with. Money is all they're worried about. The 2 artists that we had seen were definitely not worth what was paid for the work. We have gone to performance tattoo since and will continue to. Never going back to evolution ink..even for free touch ups. Never again. Not to mention, the artist fucked up the tattoo on the touch ups. I'm sure the owner will comment about how it was our fault and blah, blah. Of course they're bias, but as they said "see for yourself". Some artists may do amazing work, but "some artists" don't make up the whole business. My review is on our experience and the 2 artists (Carlos & Kenny) we have experience with. Carlos wasn't a bad artist - he was pushed by the owners to take on my 3 small tattoos, which took at most 30 minutes total, about a hour before he had an appt. Him and the owner assured me that he had enough time, but he was rushed while he was doing the work and did very sketchy, uneven lines. If the owner weren't harping over him "your appt is here 20 minutes early" and so on, I think he could have done much better. It all goes to show you that the owners care more about money than their reputation, and some artists have no respect for other people. read more

My daughter went in for her first Tattoo. The artist did a good job and she was happy with it however I feel that she was taken advantage of!!!! She got 5 words on her hip that were not very big at all and she was charged $140!!!! I almost fell out when she got home and told me how much they charged her!!!! I have ink myself so I do have an idea about prices, and that was WAY TOO MUCH!!!! Had I been with her that would have never happened!!!! I feel that was over priced by far!!!! Had that been a person with some age on them they wouldn't have even tried that crap!!!! They did give her a t-shirt and water bottle to promote the shop but that should not be apart of the price of the tattoo!!! I call BS on that!!!! While I will say this is the cleanest tattoo place in Fayetteville, it is definitely the WORST. I got a tattoo by someone named Kevin... mine looked ok - it was small and hard to screw up. He also did my cousin's which was a bit more intricate and used a few colors. He dipped into the black ink when he was supposed to dip into lavender, and tattooed anyway, and then didn't tell her that he messed up and when she pointed it out to him at the end, he lied and said once it healed it would look great. It did not. I went back there a few months later and when I was having a different artist do a tattoo on my foot, I mentioned this story to him and he was like "wow I can't believe you let Kevin tattoo you"... well YOUR shop employed him, how are we supposed to know?! Anyway this tattoo on my foot is the shittiest tattoo I have on my body - looks like someone did it with a crayon. No concept of fading or coloring at all - this isn't my first tattoo, I have several, and know an artist (a true one) when I see one. This shop looks nice on the outside, but fail to believe that Kevin is the issue... I think it's the artists the shop has in general. read more

Friendly staff was happy to help me even for a walk in. Simple design, seemed like the artist would enjoy a more intricate design but was glad to do the work nonetheless. VERY TALENTED especially with the fine lines and small details. Didn't ask where I wanted the exact placement before putting the initial design down but it's still in a good spot. My two friends went for a nose piercing and name tattoo on the foot. Both quick stuff. Front staff were very nice, but the piercer and tattoo artist and his fellow comrade in the same station were very rude. They just wanted the money and to get everything over with. They weren't nice or friendly. Any ppl tagging along with their friend for support and guidance bugged the artist and piercer. They aren't ppl friendly. I came here a couple weeks ago with my sister to get our first tattoo. Definitely a clean and trustworthy looking place. The employees were very nice and talked to us (a lot), making us feel way less nervous. Te artist Antone was great. The only thing I didn't like too much was the price. It seemed pretty pricey but wasn't sure. After talking to some friends who have a bunch of tattoos that are more intricate I am convinced I could have gotten at least $30 taken off my price but I guess that's my fault for not saying anything. I've also gotten lip piercing from here almost a year ago and everything went well with that as well. They were definitely very informative on how to take care of it. I will probably go back here if I have someone that can help me haggle over the price. read more

I give no stars what so ever but because i have to put stars, one will do. My husband went on to get a tattoo finished, which was done by somebody else but because of certain situations the same person couldn't finish. So he went to Carlos, and his work seemed phenomenal when we looked it over. When my husband was finished it looked okay but hey the tattoo was just done. After a few days the shading that was done and healing, it all looks awful. The flowers are not completely filled in. The shading looks like someone took a pencil and just scribbled all over his arm. You can even see the individual line marks from the actual needle. On of the flowers, the leaves are not even colored in. The whole flower! The lines are tacky.... Probably one of the worst tattoos I've seen done by what was supposed to be a great artist. Needless to say my husband is going somewhere else to get what has already been done fixed. Or attempting to fix it. So thanks Evolution Ink and stupid Carlos for nothing. So disappointed. read more

If you go, make sure you get your tat from Kenny, he does super great work. The shop is gorgeous. Seriously one of the cleanest shops I have ever seen. I went here (drove all the way down from VA in fact) to specifically get tattooed by one man---Kenny. Kenny had worked on a good friend of mine who was stationed down there and when I decided that it was time to get my first tattoo I knew it had to be done by Kenny. He was very patient with me and how much I squirmed and he also stayed late to make sure that everything was done just right. He gave me fabulous direction on how to take care of it and it looks perfect. It's been about 6 months now and I absolutely love the tattoo and have received a number of compliments. All of the folks there are also very nice as others have said. Pricing wise, I do believe in the motto of cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap. I am very comfortable with the price that I paid for the artwork that I received (in fact, I think it was a great deal!). It is both a blessing and a curse that Kenny is not closer!!! read more

This tattoo shop has the WORSE service I have ever encountered. While visiting in NC I heard there ad play over and over on the radio and seen signs all over Fayetteville for this particular shop. SOOOOOO I went to get a tattoo done to which I was extremely hesitant to do so in the beginning. First i totally forgot my license in my luggage. The owner BETTY BROWN was there at the time and she looked at me and said "go ahead, you're over 18 right"? I replied Yes. So she let me get a tattoo done without verifying my age or identity. Then my tattoo artist "nate" tattooed my FINGER with a red fill in. Once he was getting ready to wrap it up I noticed the lines were very sketchy. I then asked if he could fix it. He took the black ink and went over the line again. when he went to wipe the black ink totally covered the half of my tattoo and WOULD NOT come off!! I was soo upset. He then told me the ink would come off in 24 to 48 hours. 2 weeks later the black ink did heal off, however the red fill in came out as well which in all of my other tattoos that were done at another shop had never had this problem. I am so embarrassed by this tattoo and the service given. The owner said she would call me back every time I spoke to her. FINALLY three weeks of trying to get a hold of her, getting the run around from her staff, she text me and said there is nothing we can do. we are not willing to refund your money back. It's in our policy on our wall. Oh really? well isn't the policy to make copies of license and verify age? Okay. This place is a disgrace and I will not recommend them to anyone read more

I went to Evolution Ink after I had heard a few advertisments and various people telling me "They're great! Go to Evolution!" I had been wanting a septum piercing for some time,so on my birthday,I ventured over. I was suprised at how clean the shop was and how it was set up. After telling the sarcastic,teenage/20ish receptionist I wanted a septum piercing,a very friendly lady came out and I told her I wanted a septum piercing,which would cost $60(?!?). So I said what the hey and walked back to the little room to be pierced. The lady that pierced me was very friendly and she took great care to make sure everything was clean. After the "healing period" had ended,my septum stung when I moved it and come to find out,was not pierced properly (pierced way too high and unever,it scraped my nose cartilidge). I will never go back to Evolution for a piercing or any other service. I will stick to Bill Claydon's ($50 for a septum there). I did go back about 2 months after the piercing to get the jewelry changed out by a different lady,and she said it was $10 for the jewelry (no problem) but $10 for a "service fee" (just advice basically) and she was anoyed when I asked questions about the piercing,had an attitude. Bottom line,Don't go here. Overpriced,the service is garbage and the people unhelpful. Yes it's clean but not worth the extra $ for medoicre service. read more

First off, I was a loyal Evolution Ink fan right up until today, I have about 2Gs invested in my sleeves and chest work there, so this is coming from someone who has a bit of time there. I came in today to get some work on one of arms. The girl at the counter did everything she could to actually send me on my way tell me I'd have to leave a deposit if I made an appointment and that everyone was busy ect ect ect after I said I would like to talk to an artist or is anyone busy she told me that there were people open for walk ins and there was an appointment for tomorrow that was booked but the girl that booked it never shows up. I asked if there was anyone on the schedule or anything she went and talked with the owner and came back and pretty much sent me on my way out the door. Wow is all I can say, I'll never walk through the door there again nor will I recommend anyone going and trust me I get asked where I got my tats at everyday. I feel that Evolution thinks that it is better than its customers, there is to many tattoo shops in town for that kind of service. read more

*Worst customer service ever!! Got my husband a gift card for his birthday, been trying to get him a tattoo ever since (June,2015) First artist kept saying he was going to draw up something and call, weeks and months went by with us trying to get up with him and him giving false promises. Finally Betty (owner) apologizes then said she will personally make him an appointment with her best artist. Who also never did a complete drawing, or contact us back. Then we were told it's because you have to make an appointment and come in to get a complete drawing before the tattoo. Finally got an appointment, arranged a babysitter so we can both be present. When we arrive on time, receptionist says "we've been trying to call, it would not go through, we want to move your appointment". We check the number she has right in front of her! And say call it, it rings! Wow really? Then she proceeds to say their just slammed today, so my main question was "how do walk ins take priority over someone who's had an appointment for a week now! Not to mention we have been trying to get in for almost a year!" ......call me crazy, but in MD when you gave an artist an idea of what you want, they drew it up right then and there and did an amazing bomb job, then from there you made your appointment or got your tattoo right then. There are no sorry excuses about not having time to do it, or drawing up a sorry drawing a 12 year old could, just so you could act like you did something. Not to mention not honoring people's appointments. Unbelievable!! read more

Visited the shop last week to get my first tattoo and took my Mom with me for her first as well (she's a cancer survivor and wanted a ribbon tat done.) When she called to set up the appointment, she was told that they didn't take appointments and that it was all walk-in. When we got there it was insanely busy. After explaining to the receptionist that I was only visiting for 4 days, she took it upon herself to personally go talk to all of the artists to see if they could squeeze us in, since what we were interested in getting done was something small. After only waiting for about 15 minutes, Carlos came out and said he would have no problem fitting us in. Not knowing what to expect from a shop/artist, I have to say, Carlos did an amazing job. He explained what he was going to do, about aftercare, and was very polite. I'm very happy with my new tat, and if in the future I decide to get some more work done, I will definitely go back. It may have been a little pricey, but I felt like they really cared and that made it worth it for me. read more

This place does not even deserve a rating at all! I have been there numerous times because I was getting work from Carlos and Brandi. They are both amazing and really wish they would leave that shop because I will never go back thanks to my last visit. The girls at the front counter were very rude and had no idea what was going on with anything apparently. I asked for a young lady that I was used to dealing with because she was always so helpful and the two ladies I was speaking to began to bad mouth the girl I was asking for....so very unprofessional. I have called numerous times to speak to an owner about my issues with my experience and have been told all times someone would be in touch and yet nothing. There is nothing good about that place besides Carlos, Brandi and Rachael (btw who is the most professional and amazing piercer I have ever met)...although I love all of their work I will not be returning thanks to the very rude and nasty girls up front. Also if you're gonna be rude atleast be nice to look at, it is a tattoo shop and all the girls in there are overweight and aren't even tattooed. read more
