I had to go back to get my hair fixed because I hated it. And even after getting it fixed it still looks awful. Will never go there again.

I asked something very specific and show photos of my preferred color. The outcome was far from what I wanted. instead of a balayage I got a pale blonde with purple! I told her that this does not look at all like what I showed to her! She responded that the purple will wash out! Not at all balayage! Completely disappointed! of course I am not going to visit them again for any reason! I didn't even like the trim or the blow drying or the brushing of my hair! I paid an outrageous amount of money of $150. Please save your money and visit a professional who knows about balayage techniques! Also the vibes I got was of a very cold and unfriendly attitude. read more

Christina did almost exactly what I showed her a picture of, and even squeezed my appointment in on the same day as my consultation. The price was so fair for the highlights and cut I got. I recently got my hair done here. I went from blonde to "strawberry blonde". The color wasn't what I wanted but I looked nice so I didn't say anything. The color washed out within three days. She also gave me a "trim" but for some reason all of my split ends are still there? While she was giving me my trim she had me faced away from the mirror so I didn't actually see her cut my hair. I did ask her to take off only an inch so I didn't notice she didn't cut it until after I got home. It was very close to closing so I'm assuming she just wanted to go home which I understand but I paid over $300 dollars for a horrible job. I'm extremely disappointed about my experience and would NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I am extremely disappointed and in fact angered with the customer service I received today. I didn't even get to have my hair cut and I will never go back and will be sure to spread the word about the horrible treatment two women in the salon gave me. I walked in at 4pm (it closes at 6). I asked for a wash and cut. The two girls at the front desk said "Um..." for about two minutes before finally "Well, we kind of wanted to go home and we might have an appointment coming soon." I replied, "But you close at 6, and no one else is here." One said "I know, but I'm just not feeling well and I want to go home." The other girl made a vague and honestly sad attempt at telling me there were more important, busy customers who MIGHT come in. There was no one else in the small, dark salon. The girls offered to sign me on for a Tuesday appointment during the day, but who has time to get their hair cut mid-day? Obviously, I stormed out and found "Hair" in the Holiday Inn. I got a beautiful cut and wash by Vanessa. I love it! The girls at Evolution gave me such a hard time and put me in an angry frustrated mood, but Vanessa at the salon made it 100% better. Bottom line, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO TO EVOLUTION HAIR DESIGN THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS. read more

I loved this salon so much and loved Christina. She did wonders for my blonde hair. It was quick and reasonably priced. However, 6 weeks before my wedding, I had scheduled a hair trial with Christina. On my way, I got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic so I called the salon to let Christina know. I was told "Um...Christina no longer works here..." (again, on my way to my wedding hair trial with her). Someone else gets on the phone and says "you're the one with the wedding right? Yea we're not sure what happened, she just packed up her stuff and walked out. If you want to come in we can see what we can do". Not only did Christina not contact me to let me know she left, the salon didn't notify me either. I texted Christina and left her a voicemail with no response. This whole thing was handled inappropriately. To do this to a client at all, let alone a bride right before her wedding, is just wrong and unprofessional. This review is not about how well they do hair, it's about the complete lack of communication and really lack of caring for clients. read more

I did my research before going here thinking it'd be great. The service is very friendly but the person I got did not give me what I asked for in the least. Her balayage technique didn't include using foil and I'm pretty sure it was to save her time at the expense of what i asked for. I wanted a brunette balayage and ended up with the bottom quarter of my hair bright blonde and paid over $100 which is so disappointing. It didn't look bad, but it wasn't even remotely what I asked for and I can't understand her technique choice as I've gotten balayages before and I get theyre time intensive for someone like me with thick hair, but that doesn't mean shortcuts should be taken. I'm sure they do other things great, but I'll be looking somewhere else for a color specialist willing to take the time to do all my hair, not just a portion. read more

I've been eyeing her work on Instagram for months, but I live out of town. She took the time to thoroughly discuss what color I wanted and then spent her afternoon giving me EXACTLY that. All I can say is this place is awesome! Last time I went home to get my hair cut, the lady took way too much off and traumatized me for a while. I desperately needed a trim, and took a chance here. Jenna did exactly what I wanted- just took enough off to clean up the ends but not so much that the cut is noticeable other than the fact that it looks way more tidy. I've been a student here for 4 years, and always struggled with going home to get my hair cut. This is definitely my new go-to salon. These girls are seriously amazing! I came in from out of town for a wedding and everyone at evolution serioudly made the day so awesome for us. Jenna, Stephanie, and Christy did all our hair and Jess did our makeup. They were so professional and fun to work with and did a great job on all the hair and makeup. They made the day so relaxing and fun for all of us to get ready and seriously made all of us look super fabulous. If I could give them zero stars I would. I went there for eyelash extensions. Everything I had heard about eyelash extensions is that a new full set takes around an hour and a half. Christina did mine and it took LESS THAN A HALF HOUR. I knew at this point something was not right. I paid $110 dollars for straight garbage. I knew something was wrong as they started to grow out and there were clumps of adhesive all over my lashes. After 3 weeks I went to a new salon where the woman specializes in just lashes. They were so bad and clumpy that they had to be removed completely and now I am going for a whole new set; to someone who actually knows what they're doing and isn't completely lazy and clearly uneducated on what she's doing. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT be doing eyelash extensions!!! These kind of things can destroy your lashes! read more

I had my hair cut by Vanessa and it was exactly what I needed! My hair had gotten long and shapeless and just generally unflattering. I didn't know how to style it anymore or how best to have it cut. Fortunately, Vanessa is so knowledgeable; she listened to what I like and don't like and made recommendations based on my comments. We agreed that the length needed to be sacrificed to improve the style, shape, and overall health. Going from long to short(er) hair is always nerve-racking but Vanessa took the time to understand what I wanted so I knew it would be a worthwhile trade-off. And I appreciate that she made 100% sure that I was okay with losing the length before she cut. My name is Jacob and ive lived in Binghamton for 5 years, and finding a barber shop that could consistently do a good cut was really hard. Especially one that I could feel comfortable in. Chris over at Evolution did a great job, for me not being an advanced barber shop visitor, I showed him a picture and he said done. Looked exactly the way it did in the picture. The place was clean, the environment was friendly and I was able to watch some sports-center while I waited for my cut. Hands down, best barber shop in town. 5 stars, and I will be back. read more
