I regret to express my disappointment, but it is essential to highlight some concerns regarding Evolution Fitness, as other users have rightfully pointed out instances of fraudulent practices.
Under a month-to-month agreement, I adhered to the proper protocol by submitting a termination notice 30 days in advance, as stipulated (October 30). Despite obtaining approval from the Evolution Fitness manager for my cancellation, I was required to fulfill two bi-weekly payments of $31.49 on November 8 and 22. In response to my inquiry about the fairness of paying a full bi-weekly fee on the 22nd when I could only utilize the gym for five days (until November 27), the manager dismissed my concern, citing a policy of only processing cancellations on Tuesdays and advising me to "look at the agreement."
Contrary to this explanation, the agreement I signed does not specify that cancellations are only permissible on Tuesdays. Furthermore, it explicitly states that my membership can be terminated at least 30 days after submitting the cancellation request. Regrettably, Evolution Fitness terminated my membership before the 30-day period had elapsed. This experience leads me to conclude that the company employs questionable practices and possesses a staff that appears lacking in intelligence and customer orientation. It is disheartening to encounter such unscrupulous behavior.
I strongly advise individuals to exercise caution and refrain from supporting this gym. It is crucial that, as a society, we do not endorse businesses engaged in fraudulent activities.
Update and Response to Manager's Comments:
Dear Evolution Fitness,
Upon carefully reviewing the contract I signed, I must express my profound disappointment and concern regarding the recent communications from your team. It has become evident that the explanations provided by your management in response to my cancellation request do not align with the actual terms of the agreement. The assertion that cancellations can only be processed on specific days, for example, is not stipulated anywhere within the contract. This discrepancy raises serious questions about the transparency and integrity of your business practices.
Moreover, it is disheartening to observe a recurring theme in your responses to customer grievances, where the burden of responsibility is shifted onto the customer. While it is crucial for customers to understand and adhere to contract terms, it is equally important for a business to conduct itself with honesty and accountability, particularly in its interactions with clients. The manner in which my concerns, and those of others, have been handled suggests a broader issue with how your organization values and addresses customer feedback.
It is my belief that businesses should operate with a fundamental respect for fairness and truthfulness in all dealings. Unfortunately, my experience, coupled with your response, indicates a departure from these principles. I urge you to reconsider your approach to customer service and to adopt practices that foster trust and respect in your relationships with clients.
In light of these concerns, I feel compelled to advise potential customers to carefully consider their options before engaging with your gym. It is imperative that we, as a community, support businesses that demonstrate a commitment to ethical practices and customer satisfaction.
Sincerely,
