On the Website there is a bit of blurb about how Evolution Arts started as a non-profit making organisation in 1993, which attempted to help get people into affordable education and arts based courses. It's definitely not that same anymore, as my (or theirs now I guess) £68 pounds can prove.
I partook in a 10 session Mindfulness course, which took place at the Brighton Buddhist Centre, but was organised and run by Evolution Arts. The course was really good I thought, and allowed group discussions, where people would talk about the difficulty of meditation, or the breakthroughs that sometimes took place. Now my loan has gone, I wont be able to do another of these courses, but once I have some money again I would seriously consider it because it was very interesting.
Anyway that was my own experience of using Evolution Arts, but Mindfulness and meditation is only one small part of the vast range of courses and lessons they have available. Photography, pottery, Tai Chi, Creative Writing, Argentine Tango, Egyptian Dance, African Djembe, Hatha Yoga and Hopi Ear Candling are just a selection of the other courses and treatments they offer.
Definitely one of the best starting points if your looking for courses to do outside of work. read more
