When I called Durbin one morning to schedule a repair for a broken garage door spring I was told it…read morewould be the afternoon of the next day before they could get to me in O'Fallon. I scheduled the visit with the plan to find someone who could get out earlier just as soon as I freed my car trapped in the garage. After unsuccessfully trying to lift the heavy garage door,I called Durbin back to explain my dilemma. Durbin said they'd try to fit me in the same day, at least to get the door up and the car out. Less than an hour later I got a call they were running ahead of schedule, had an open slot, and were on their way. Less than an hour after that my car was not only in the driveway but the garage door was repaired. We discussed suggestions for future maintenance, then a reasonably priced bill was presented--without an extra rush or emergency fee.

Three other companies that I called could not come until next week. Thank God, Durbin could send Austin to arrive in 45 min. to an hour. Austin came on time and fixed our garage door. My husband asked if he could oil/grease the moving components because of the loudness when opening and closing. Then, Austin said he could replace our broken/splintered weather stripping. We were thrilled with the service we were provided. We now have a quieter, more weather-resistant, fully-functioning garage door again! Thank you, Durbin! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience with the Martin Door Company!…read more We just had our entire 27 year old garage door replaced with a significantly upgraded one. New upgraded garage door opener system also installed to replace our existing one. Now is Wi-Fi-enabled and has battery backup. This new system is whisper quiet, and oh so smooth and beautiful. (little annoying the "remeasure tech" was HOURS late but whatever) Got a call mid February, doors are here, we'll be there 02/24 to install. Again, great, fine. They show up, on time, said they wanted to re-measure to make sure everything was to spec. Um, ok - why wouldn't it be? They ripped off all of my door trim/casing and sat in their trucks for *90 MINUTES* without a word. Came back: "we have a problem". The brickmold is a quarter inch off - the manufacturer (ProVia) has a software problem and even though we gave them the correct measurements... blah blah, whatever. So, wait two weeks to get the corrected brickmold. Fine, stuff happens. 03/05! Called them 03/06. Guess what? STILL WRONG! No apologies, no anything. Wait two more weeks, no biggie, this is the way stuff works. March 20 it is! NOPE! March 16 and get an email that the manufacturers internet is down. No idea what that has to do with anything... how many times can you fail a customer and just tell them to wait two more weeks? Anyway, now I'm scheduled for April! Of what year I have no idea. Pathetic.

But the last TWO contractors I hired for garage installation took all my money and vanished. I was beside myself. I called all these places trying to find someone to help me, and not only did Bill come out that very day, he actually started the job immediately and finished it within the next 24 hours!! After being strung along by other contractors for SIX MONTHS ("oh, the weather isn't good for working on garages" or "oh maybe there is a missing part and I can't do it") I was shocked by how competent and quickly Bill got this job done and for a very reasonable price. In fact he had to rip out the work done by the previous two contractors. I really wish I had found Fowler Garage Door Service from the very beginning. If I had 12 more garage doors, I would hire Bill to do all 12 of them. When I asked to have my opener reinstalled, he said the opener was destroyed during removal. This is either a lie or incompetence since it is not necessary to damage an opener by removing it. I spoke to the manager and was told they would give me a "discount" on the new opener (that I did not need). I should have sued them but did not. That is not who I am.
