They do beautiful displays of flowers immediately outside the shop, and in the windows. For me, the reason to go here. Chocolate! Harvest Garden is the only Scottish, if not UK stockist of Laura Secord. These are gorgeous chocolates that I first had in Canada. Beware, these are not cheap! In season, they sell chocolate figs. These are handmade in someone's house in Spain. Basically, it is a fresh fig that has chocolate fondant in the middle, then they are foil wrapped. That description could never do them justice though. I am always guaranteed to find what I want here for birthdays, christmas etc. There is a good range of chocolate stocked, and a price to suit all pockets. I haven't made it to the handmade chocolate counter yet though.....

There is a wide selection of most gift related genres here, so if you're in a rush to buy someone a present and this shop is nearby, I'd definitely recommend having a peep inside, because you're sure to find something. There are some quirkier items to choose from, like a cheese door wedge (who wouldn't laugh if they saw that in someone's house...no...just me?) and other novelty gifts like a clock, bottle stopper or lip gloss complete with crazy design of some kind. It's not my type of thing but my mum was fascinated by the varied and colourful collection of items. I accidentally brushed past some one dimensional salamanders and frogs, knocking them all off the wall and then made a complete fool of myself trying to put them back up. Thankfully the owner didn't mind. She told us that the items she sells are sourced from all around world including Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia. Besides ornaments and jewellery Azalay also offers high quality (apparantly) garments such as Indian silks which seemed pretty pricey - but they would be. It's not up my street but it's still worth a look for anyone who's interested in unusual ornaments and the like.
