Further storage space was also required for media. Time for a glass of wine and some lateral thinking... One of those 3-level glass stands did not pass muster, since you can view all the cabling as well as the TV, like it or not. A minimalist solution was called for, but one that was [--------] across, so that all the crap could be stored in an accessible, operable but not unsightly way. The Net yielded little satisfaction. Anything that most companies had in that size was not only very expensive, but also boringly uninspired in that good old 'G-plan' look. Ideal to suit the magnolia wallpaper. ;-) Suddenly bingo! On the Net, I found these guys who were down the road in Windsor. They offer high-quality inspirational Oriental, Japanese and Contemporary furniture. Check the site! If they don't have it in stock, you might have to wait for it to slowly sail from China in a junk (ours took 3-months), but I wanted it, I was going to have it and I bloody got it! Very helpful people: order tracking on their site, order confirmation mailed as a PDF etc. I spent a long time laid on the floor connecting things up and using some rather ripe language, but it's in now. The amp will eventually go under the record deck for ease of access. Disadvantages? You have to open the left hand door (but only a tiny bit) so you can tell Sky what you want to watch. (Added): The friendly guy at the store told me you can buy a discreet unobtrusive widget called a 'Skye Eye' which will sit on top for 'closed-doors viewing'. You can only store CDs flat in those drawers, but that's no issue, because I have a separate stand for them located otherwhere. Excellent company now I want a Han-dynasty lacquered cabinet to store bogrolls in and a smaller one would do nicely for one's stash. If you live down this way, check them out. We were PROMISED a pre Christmas delivery. Of course they would to take your money. Very poor communications from the store, had over 5+ delay notifications and went in store to chase, still no material update anyone could give me. I escalated this by writing to the CEO of furniture village, of course no response from him personally, just his personal assistants saying the same thing. 'Sorry for the delay'. After sending 5+ escalation emails to the CEO and his assistants, nobody could answer the following simple question I had asked multiple times. And the follow up to this nobody won't answer this simple question either. Please can someone let me know what will be done about the false pre Christmas delivery promise. I keep asking and nobody is giving me a response. Is it really that hard of a question? No of course it's not. It's just the company not wanting to take accountability for a commitment made and not honoured to its customer. Is this good business? I ensure I make things right with my clients when a commitment is missed. So 4 months later, mid February 2025 we finally receive the sofa.

They specialize in decor and furniture for your home, but the jewellery and cards downstairs caught my eye more. There were beautiful modern earrings there for 8 quid; I've seen similar earrings in San Francisco for $200! And the decorations and room designs make it a fun place to window shop, even if you have no interest in earrings or beds.

Wonky floor, laid incorrectly, cuts everywhere, glue on existing carpets, removed half of my existing toilet and bathroom lino, cut and shut boards round corners and the list goes on. They offered me a measly £400 discount afterwards which after extreme length of complaining and house visits became £750 which I am still to get!! I have been lied to constantly throughout this terrible experience and the fact that the staff turn around there means you speak to one person one week and they are gone the next, I am having to seek advice from the furniture ombudsman with regards to getting my money which is owed to me. They declined to give me a cheque in September, then offered me a cheque last week which I accepted (this was signed off by store area manager Bill Mckew) only to revoke that offer today. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE this company is an absolute farce and im sure they will be in administration in the near future. AVOID at all costs, take my word and experience for it.
