Barry's treatment was extremely efficient and you leave feeling much more relaxed and almost like a new "you". My symptoms disappeared after a hot shower and a healthy nights sleep. I was back to my old self and pain free! While it did take me several weeks to recover my shoulder strength in the gym, my shoulder and neck itself (once I progressed in weights) seemed to be stronger and more pliable than before! Problem 1: After making it clear that I was in excruciating, I can barely walk pain, the doctor told me that she couldn't treat me the same day, but that I would have to come back to be treated in the future. In all my years of chiro experience, including having now been to 2 others in the directly surrounding area, this has NEVER happened before. Problem 2: They are extremely unprofessional and disorganized. There is constant confusion about payments, how much one owes, whether or not doctors are in or out of network, you CANNOT trust that they will be able to verify anything with your insurance company accurately or correctly, etc. Oh, and they only take cash, but never have change. Really? A doctor who only takes cash? Again, never heard of such a thing. Problem 3: After 3 or so visits (which I regret having done in the first place) the doctor said "huh, you seem to be my problem patient for the week. I can't seem to quite get at that one area where you're out of alignment." She was entirely incapable of helping me get better. Again, I have never had a chiropractor who was unable - physically, professionally or what have you - of providing services that offered some degree of relief. Avoid at all costs and go to Dr. Grossi or Dr. Maddalo near by - they are both in an entire other league above!

Please do not go to Chiropractor Kirk J Shilts. He is talkative, and seemingly harmless at first…read more However, he will find subtle ways to be sexually inappropriate to you during your visit. Firstly he asked me to remove my shirt and put on a gown. This is not common and the room he put me in had a big glass window leading into the office that he was currently in while I changed that he could easily see into. He found various reasons to touch my butt during the appointment. These reasons ranged from pretending to adjust my gown, repositioning me, even saying he was wiping something off my yoga pants. He repeatedly pulled down my yoga pants to put his bare hands on my hips under my yoga pants during adjustments. This is not common and is inappropriate. He also had me bend over in front of him while he was sitting. He pulled me close enough to him that I was touching his knees and he kept his hand on my hips and under my gown. I asked two different chiropractors and they said that is not normal and feels very sexual in nature. During this appointment he asked me detailed questions about my relationship with my husband and why I didn't have kids. He also made comments about how I look like I'm very flexible and about how I must like adjustments even if their painful. Not to mention that him and I were the only two people in the entire office. No staff, no patients. I have never been so uncomfortable and scared. Between being alone with him, his invasive and uncomfortable personal questions, his comments on my body, and his overt sexual touching during non-adjustment moments, I genuinely felt like I was being preyed upon and needing to leave the appointment as quickly and safely as possible. I am only writing this because I'm scared for the safety of any other person who is his patient that he might do this to. There are so many other Chiropractors in Boston.. Please just pick a different one. Addition: the glass window was 100% not frosted. I'd also love an explanation as to why this chiropractor thought it was okay for him to touch my butt 3-4 times during non-treatment moments. My fiancée's mom had been having horrible back pain for several months that had come on suddenly. She saw her doctor who said it was muscular. She found herself in the ER *eight times* where they said it was muscular and would prescribe physical therapy, chiropractic, or, worse, painkillers. She was averse to taking drugs and wanted to know *why* she was having the pain. In short, they figured she was old and hurting from aging. On that eighth ER visit, I became frustrated and DEMANDED that they X-ray her back. They did a plain film X-ray basically to appease us, and again said it showed nothing. Dr. Rob looked at the X-ray and *immediately* told us to get a second opinion because he saw something that concerned him. Turns out he was seeing a metastasis and had spotted cancer that went ignored by probably a dozen other doctors. Before this, I had always been dubious of chiropractic but *he* won me over, so when I began having my own back issues, I gave him a try. He helped me so much and was always a friendly face, even when I had skipped long periods between visits. My fiancée's mom loved him and credited him with - at the very least - listening to her and being thorough. She would stop by just to see him, even though her back couldn't handle chiropractic anymore. Not only did they show me the exercise to treat my issues, they also helped educate me on what I could do to prevent future injuries. On top of that, they were both incredibly patient and encouraging - therapeutic on multiple levels! I also get sports massages from Michelle Herrmann, and this has been a game changer. I have gone to a wide variety of skilled massage therapists (sports, deep tissue, Thai, etc.), and Michelle is the best, by far. Her massages are so healing and have helped my performance so much, as well as stave off potential injuries! Before going to Wellness in Motion, I really struggled to progress in any sport because I got injured so often.
