This review is specifically for the one on Washington Street across from the court. This was a great little library. Centrally located with easy parking and in a very cute part of town. Staff was relatively helpful. I had some issues reserving a room, but the librarian on duty was very accommodating when the system wasn't quite working right. The wifi works well and there are a number of cozy places to sit and read or do work. While there was only one conference room you could realistically have a call or meeting in, there is also a nice study corner (pictured with the glass) that was a very productive place for me to work. All in all the library is well laid out, with a separate children's section away from the more quiet study and work areas. Note that the study/conference room is right next to the children's area. But the door is relatively insulated and the fact that children might be noisy nearby makes one less likely to feel bad about having an animated phone call or meeting.

There are a few books for sale in the entrance, which I like, and a few more to check out, but you have to PAY to borrow DVDs and audio books. WHAT!? I have never heard of such a thing in a library system. Is this a common thing in small towns or something? Bonus points for being part of the Interlibrary Loan system--possibly the only saving grace of this tiny library.

I really enjoyed exploring here. The local history room has a chair that was used by FDR once-- there is a lot of history to explore here. The Washington County Free Library has quiet study rooms, large meeting rooms, and even a dedicated teen space. I recommend this as one of the best libraries in Maryland.

Coyle Free lives up to my expectations. It was one of our first stops after moving here (library cards for the whole family) and has continued to be a bright spot for us. We're here every Saturday morning for free Spanish and French classes and today there was an extra treat, Japan Day Celebration complete with a master calligrapher and a master in the art of taiko drumming. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and there is a mini cafe on the main level. You could literally stay all day.
