They assured me that they do their best to inform every patient about insurance network status, but this is obvious garbage given their failure to inform me. They were unwilling to take any responsibility for their own failure here, and insisted I pay the $150 bill. I only paid the bill because I knew I had no legal recourse. As far as I'm concerned, they robbed me. Needles to say, I will be finding a new dentist.

My 72 year old mother has dementia and needs an advanced extraction likely with a heightened level of sedation, when I asked the "lead" dentist what is a dentist that can use an IV to sedate he claimed to not know of a solution outside of going to the "University". He was pushing to do the extraction that day and, "give it a try." I asked him multiple times to give him a chance to tell the truth. So which is worse? He lied about not knowing the name of a peer in his field with more training or he doesn't know. Clearly he has no regard for the principles that guide most physicians and dentists to do no harm and do good on behalf of the patient. Dentists are just sales people masquerading as doctors.

After that, the worst part was the chair. if that had been comfortable, Id give 7 stars. There was a lot of drilling and scraping required and it was fine. They were gentle. The assistant was on top of it all and I liked the repore and respect between them. They discussed what they were doing and they were efficient despite one difficult to remove filling. I was also pleased that I didn't have to listen to terrible office music! Maybe that is my favorite part of this dental office. I also believe they were as conservative as they could be considering my mouth is filled with 40 year old silver fillings. The front desk staff also spent a lot of time helping me figure out payments and what was and was not covered. I finally found a dentist with years of experience, a gentle manor, an excellent staff, and a convenient location. They were able to get me in very soon after my initial visit. I think cleanings may be a little more challenging to book but I'm happy they could accommodate my schedule for the rest. I am relieved. I highly recommend Bridle Trails Family Dentistry.

I met Tammy, one of the wonderful dental hygienists. I have never received more caring, thorough cleanings. I moved away from the area 8 years ago and tried dentists in 4 different cities, but was never able to find a similar level of care and technical sophistication (more below). I was traveling for vacation to Seattle and made a visit to Kingsgate Dental one of my stops. I'm so glad I did. Tammy did a 1.5 hour inspection (the cleaning will be another appointment), which included high definition digital X-rays (she told me they recently got this system - but are ahead of many practices in having used digital X-rays for the past 10 years); taking pictures of my individual teeth so any discoloration was clear; and using some new-fangled gadget to test enamel strength re cavities, rather than the old system of prodding with a pick to see if the tooth feels sticky. Plus she measured gum recession and closeness of gums to each tooth. I was very impressed with Dr. Kelley. She recommended steps I could take to steward my teeth, including using a non-fluoride paste to help the enamel. She told me about ideal upcoming dental care (it's time for some crowns) but clearly did not push any dental care I did not strongly need. She was understanding of my financial situation. When it came time to pay, in addition to the 10% discount for uninsured people who pay up front, which I knew about, Jackie mentioned an additional promotion she could use to lower my cost. Both front office staff are the same from when I was last there 8 years ago, which says something! This dentist's office is so above and beyond any other I've seen (before or since) that I can't recommend it enough. I hesitate to write such a glowing review on Yelp because I fear I won't be able to get an appointment next time I need one, but the practice deserves it.

They said they didn't have time for the upper so I'd need to come back when they had an opening for another almost $200. I'm not going back. My last two dentists were in Newport Beach, CA and Palm Desert, CA and neither charged over $175 for a full cleaning without insurance. Dr. Etheredge is over twice that. To recap, if you have insurance, the doctor and staff are great. If you don't, you'll be ridiculously overcharged.
