It will be the best money that you spend on your wedding if that planner is Stacey. To rewind to the beginning I had already booked my venue when I found Stacey on their preferred vendors list. We had started booking the band and the officiant when the venue called Stacey to tell her that they had decided to do renovations and that I could either push my wedding date back at least 6 months, or get my deposit back. Knowing I would be devastated (and that I wasn't going to change my wedding date), Stacey spent her entire day driving around to different venues, checking their availability, and taking videos on her cell phone to send to me. The new venue that we ended up booking was actually so much better than the first venue, and I am incredibly grateful to Stacey for finding it, and to fate that the first venue cancelled on us. Stacey knows all the best vendors in Florida; from flowers to bands to photographers to invitations to the hair and makeup girls, to the officiant, I was blown away by the amazing professionals that she took me to meet. Not only was every single one the best at what they do, they were all incredibly nice people that were a pleasure with which to do business. Stacey brought every dream that I had for my wedding to life, and she worked tirelessly to do so. Stacey doesn't just throw the perfect wedding though; she is also there to give advice and help with any sticky 'life' situations that are sure to come up. I can't thank Stacey and her team enough; my wedding was the best weekend of my life. She is adored by all my friends and family and she even got a standing ovation at our farewell brunch. Well, I broke my wrist and was unable to do so. A day and half before the party I found Dream Ark via an internet search. I sent an email inquiry and was immediately contacted by Roza. Miraculously she said she could do the job even with short notice. We discussed design ideas and colors. I then sent her photos of the party room. The day of the party Roza and her partner arrived 4 hours before party time and installed the most stunning balloon decorations and backdrop. After the party they came back and collected everything. She took our initial thoughts on the event and created a menu that fit our ideas perfectly! My initial contact with Lori was through e-mail and she promptly replied and then followed up phone conversation. I laid out our thoughts for the 70th birthday celebration we were planning on having on our patio and she came back with some initial ideas but said she would give greater detail via e-mail which she did later that day. Within a relatively short period of time Lori had prepared a list of sample menu items, and once I made our selections she came back with pricing which was very attractive. From the planning, to the setup the day of the event, to the presentation of the food, to the quality of the food, to the breakdown and clean up everything that Lori and her associate did was flawless. In fact, like many other bride-to-be's, the positive reviews are what initially led us to her. Initially, we felt quite confident in her ability to plan our 300-guest wedding as she is great at verbally selling her services and expertise. Over time, her started becoming clear including her lack of attention to detail, her lack of initiative and her lack of ability to adapt. In the wedding planning process, we constantly had to remind her about previous conversations and details (that were already discussed). We constantly had to remind her that we had a budget and that we needed to make an effort to negotiate prices. We often had to ask for more vendor options, or additional quotes (she has her preferred vendors, and does not recommend anyone outside). She often did not contact us or communicate with us unless we reached out to her. How are we supposed to know what to do or what to ask for? That is precisely what wedding planners are for. She has a very laissez-faire attitude which is quite surprising for a wedding planner. The groom and I felt as though we had no other option but to try and micromanage her because we didn't want her to forget or miss details which would result in things not being accounted for. I found myself often revisiting wedding planning websites, checklists and guides hoping to have what I needed (to essentially plan my own wedding) because I did not feel like I was getting support from her. We really tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she would pull through for us on the actual wedding day (as she promised us that she would) and I continued to be optimistic for the sake of peace of mind. On the days leading up to the wedding itself (when her involvement was absolutely crucial), we started realizing the effects of her sloppy organizational skills as things were falling apart. For example, we did not even have our designed wedding cake on our wedding day! (Luckily, the venue happened to have a cake in the back that they quickly brought into our ballroom for us to cut). For most of the day, she was missing in action and the groom and I had to scramble to answer questions from the church coordinator, DJ, etc as she was nowhere to be found. We spent so much time arranging a day-of-timeline and a detailed outline of our evening reception. Interestingly enough, the only things that went AS planned during the evening reception were from the vendors that we found on our own (not through her). She also left early from the reception and if she actually stayed, she would've realized that as we neared the activities at the end of the reception, the DJ went straight into the final dancing without giving us an opportunity to say a thank you speech. We didn't even get a chance to thank our guests for coming! Many vendors expressed their concerns and frustration to us regarding her presence or lack thereof on the day of the event. I normally am not one to write reviews, in fact this is the first review I have ever written on a product or service that was provided to me. I genuinely felt let down and I am also not someone that has very high expectations or is unreasonable. But for any bride, this is supposed to be the biggest day of their life. To be completely honest, I was deliberating whether or not to leave a review. Then I thought about other brides who may be in the midst of planning their weddings and who might land on her company "It's Your Party Events" and then I thought to myself that if I could save a fellow bride from an absolutely disappointing day, of course I would. I owe it to them and to my conscience. Perhaps they may see this review and reconsider.
