Elegant orchids is amazing!! I had a lovely woman helping me choose a birthday gift. She patiently explained all the different types of orchids, what colorthe bloom would be whether it had a scent or not and so on. They have some of the most unusual exotic orchids I have ever seen. They also have a lot of unusual plants that are not orchids. I could've stayed all day.. They have a separate building with pots and potting materials. They design and sell incredible floral arrangements. Everyone who works there was helpful, kind and very, very knowledgeable.. The orchids range in price depending on how rare the plant is. Definitely a place to visit over and over as the inventory changes often. read more

Our trip was to Green Barn Orchid Supplies but saw the sign for Elegant Orchids what a secret gem! Walk through the outdoor plant section, into a greenhouse containing plants, then continue into a marvelous greenhouse of orchids. Healthy looking, well maintained and well arranged orchids of many species. Knowledge employees help you make a selection. I'll be visiting often. read more

Terrible customer service, way over priced for lower quality single stem orchids. Very disappointed! Wanted to support local at a place that we respected but after my experience with the very rude new owner I say Stay Away from Non elegant orchid! It doesn't look like much from the parking lot but it was an orchid wonderland! Orchid are the best flower, 5 or 6 ice cubes on the roots every 4 days and they last for weeks. And then when they deflower you just remove them from a pot and staple them to a tree. Then the bloom for years! read more

Our friend is visiting from Tampa. She asked us to take her to a place to buy interesting orchids. I immediately thought of Elegant Orchids as a great place to bring her to. This gem of a nursery is hard to find. Those in the know, know to turn off the bustling commercial Military Trail, into a quiet residential street. The greenhouses are behind the owners home and on the same property as the Green Barn, purveyors of a diverse selection of orchid supplies. Elegant Orchids is in business supplying magnificent orchid arrangements to hotels & country clubs, for their lobbies. They are truly works of art! They also sell to the public, and always have some gems hidden away! In season they host free orchid-care classes. Elegant Orchids is one of my "must" stops when looking for something unique. Very nice amd large nursery. Lots and lots of phals and some other varieties. The best part was the customer service! Super super nice and friendly people. We left about 5 minutes before they closed and when down the street I decided I should've gotten another Paul's Pride so we went back. They had closed already but they were nice enough to open up again for me! The lady said she felt bad because we drove so long to get there (a hour and a half). They let me make another purchase! Who does that?!! The young man who showed me around was extremely knowledgeable also. I think he said this is new management. It is a great nursery to visit! My husband and I had an arrangement done here by Lynn and it turned out beautifully. She took a pot and three orchids and turned it into an amazing sculpture. We found the price to be very reasonable, too. They have moss, air plants, bromeliads, etc. The pots and cache pots we found here were unique and stylish. We had a difficult time choosing since we liked many of them and again, they were very reasonably priced. We also went through a catalog there and saw tons of options, so if you're looking for a specific size and style they can order it in for you. The orchids here are living in a natural environment, unlike grocery store orchids that won't have the same longevity. When we traveled overseas we brought our orchids here to be cared for, they'll "house sit" them for you and that was worth it for us. Lynn made our arrangement so it would be easy to swap out the orchids when they went dormant - she was very thoughtful and a joy to work with! I'm in NYC and called to send an orchid to a friend in the Ft Lauderdale area. I phoned Elegant Orchids and got the loveliest lady, who asked my friend's zip code. Unfortunately, they don't deliver to that area, and tried to think of the name of a florist in my friend's area, but couldn't remember it. I thanked her for her help and we said good bye. About 5 minutes later, she phoned me back (my number obviously on her phone) and she remembered the name of the other florist, and gave me their phone number as well. I was delightfully surprised that she did this, and I'm sure that someone with this kind of professionalism and kindness would be a great florist to do business with.
