Please be aware! This guy is a scammer!!!! I was looking for a DJ for my daughter's Quinceañera. I was referred by a friend. When I reached out to him on 3/24/2022 he requested a meeting at the venue for 30 mins to talk and go over the details. I set up the meeting he requested for 4/2/2022 @11am. He ended up showing up 30 mins late to the venue. I should have seen this as a red flag and I could have avoided all of this. We proceed with the meeting gives me the quote & I like the price and we proceed to sign the contract on 4/2/2022 (picture provided). He said he would be in touch a few weeks before the event to get a playlist and final details. On 6/22/2022 I reached out to him to provide his Certificate of Insurance. For reference if you are a legitimate business (especially a vendor that does events at venues) you should have this already standard practice. Also, keep in mind that when asking for this certificate from other vendors was such a breeze and not an issue & at no charge. So I figured that it would be the same with the Cristobal. It wasn't, he said he could only provide it if I paid an additional $175! No additional fees were ever disclosed at time of contract. His contract doesn't even state that there is an additional charge for insurance that he should already have. When I told Cristobal that I couldn't justify the fee and that I shouldn't be held accountable for his insurance premiums. He then tried to convince me to pay $150, instead of the $175. I told him that I couldn't justify that fee either. On 6/24/2022 I let him know that I wanted to proceed with the cancellation of the contract because this is a venue requirement so essentially I could not use his services because of no insurance and him not willing to pay for his own insurance. He agreed to cancel the contract 6/24/2022. Since he had spent time on this on good faith I asked him to only return $100 of the $200. Days later I had to follow up with him on 7/5/2022 because I had not heard back from him. He didn't respond until 7/8/2022 saying he couldn't refund me at that moment because he had "financial obligations" to attend to first, that I would have to wait until 8/1/2022 to get my refund. I was understanding and agreed to 8/1/2022. 8/1 comes around and I follow up with him on a status update, he responds 8/2 saying he would have it by 8/5. It's now 8/6 and no refund. I am now upset because it seems to be a joke to him. I sent him a message on 8/6 stating that I will now need my full refund of $200 back because he didn't honor his word on the refund. I followed up with him 8/8 - no response & again on 8/16 no response. It wasn't until 8/22/2022 that I followed up AGAIN & he responds saying that the refund would be at the venue cash the day of event. I immediately said no, I didn't want him showing up at the venue and I sent him my venmo & Zelle information. He then proceeds to tell me that he is only going to refund $100 because he feels that he should keep $100 for time and gas that was spent on a meeting he requested. He only refunded $100 to me. I told him that I would make sure to file a small claims complaint, reach out to the BBB & Department of consumer affairs. He said he didn't care because even the great restaurants in town had a bad review. He called me difficult, blocked me on Instagram. He then sent me a text message saying that I was being shady and told me to think about the refund for a few days and that if I feel that he still owed me money then to let him know and he would refund the rest of the deposit. I immediately told him no, that I wanted my refund of $100. He refused to refund me the remainder of the balance. He said that he didn't agree with the reason for the cancellation and that he didn't circle the (refund/non-refundable section) On The contract because then that would give him the ability to decide what to do with my money. He told me to "drop it already" because he didn't want to go back and forth. He also made comments such as "you're stressing yourself over $100". He seriously thinks this is all a joke and that he can play with people's hard earned money like it's nothing. He also said that I needed to calm my ego & that I was being a Karen over $100. I've sent him copies of the contract & he refuses to return my money. If he did this to me he most definitely has done it to other people. Please do not waste your money on this guy!!!!!! Chris was so professional and easy to work with! A family friend referred him as a DJ for my company Christmas party. Chris was very responsive to all calls and texts, he made me feel comfortable and stress free. The day of the event he arrived early to set up, needless to say it only took about an hour. Chris was amazing! We recently hired him for my 40th birthday bash at our home (he had previously DJ'd a friends party) and I am so blown away by everything he did for us! Not only was he very nice and easy to work with but he suggested things that I wouldn't have thought of and that really made the party stand out. He met with us a few days beforehand to go over everything and finalize details including getting the lay of the house and how he would set up everything. Chris was great to work with. My sister referred him to me to DJ my wedding and he made the entire process so easy and painless, making sure to stay in contact with me from start to finish. I liked that I was able to create a Spotify playlist and share it with him so he had an idea of what to play and I appreciated that he cared so much about making this special day just the way I wanted. He met with me in person the week of the wedding to finalize the itinerary and this made me feel better knowing we were on the same page. He even customized a monogram for me that I absolutely loved! Long story short, he was professional and kept the party going all night, not to mention he even stayed longer than he was supposed to just because we wanted to keep dancing.
