She soon came back and told me NO, and x-rays would $319. SEEMS LIKE THIS PLACE IS THINKING ABOUT THEIR OWN FINANCIAL GAIN, INSTEAD OF THEIR LOYAL PATIENTS. I can appreciate that ADA guidelines recommending x-rays every 2 years, but certainly you would think exceptions could be made (well not at this place). I'm really considering canceling my next appointment, and going to a place that BOTH me and my wife can go to, and who appreciates our business. They obviously are doing so well that no exceptions can be made surrounding their absurd x-ray policy. I've never heard something so absurd and have had x-rays waived at several other dental offices in the past. If it's a "liability" thing have patients sign a waiver. What stood out to me is that they truly make time for you. It does not feel like one of those offices where they are juggling multiple patients at once and the dentist is working on 3 people at once. The cleaning was great as well, and although I forgot the tech's name, she was thorough and quite informed. I'm def going back for my cleanings with this tech. My care with Dr. Janice felt especially thoughtful and focused. She kept me informed every step of the way and clearly explained the risks and benefits of different treatment options. I really value that, because many dentists do not give the full picture unless they are trying to steer you in a certain direction. Here, the discussion felt balanced, transparent, and aligned with what I already understood about my dental history and what I had previously been told might happen. Then, there were detailed descriptions of my teeth recorded along with measurements of my gumline. I have never had a dentist measure my gumline before. Or jot down these descriptions of my teeth. The cleaning by the hygienist was so thorough, I finally understood what after dentist clean meant. That feeling lasted for days afterwards. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shah and his team. The level of care they provide is top notch! Dr. Shah is not one of those shady dentists who tries to upsell and profit off their patients. I completely trust him with my dental care. He lets me know what he sees as concerning and will be keeping an eye on and always answers any questions I have. Dr. Shah also does a great job of explaining what might need to be done in the future and what my insurance will cover so I can plan for it. Today I chipped my front tooth and was able to come in same day to have a filling put in. I left the office in happy tears because my front tooth looked so good and it was all done so quickly. The team at Sorrento Smiles is amazing. From scheduling, figuring out insurance, communication, and treating you like family. I am so happy I found them! Mira mesa Dental Care is a simple family practice. They do what they are supposed to to do without any fancy upcharges. the entire experience is relaxed...starting with a super friendly receptionist (there are 2 that i've met so far). You might even be lucky enough to catch one of the singing! Dentists are mother & daughter. You have to option to stick with one or the other but I opt to take whoever is available and i really like them both. All the dental assistants are all super friendly and make me feel comfortable. I have recommended them to others and my friends who have gone are also quite happy with them. only disadvantage is that i needed a root canal and that had to be done at another facility. that was new to me but to have such a good and honest dentist...totally worth the slight inconvenience. thank you =)

Because they use the best possible equipment in dentistry, they have optics on whats going on in my mouth that my traditional dentist apparently doesn't. Through this comprehensive consult, they discovered a pretty big abscess/infection in the back right of my bottom jaw through a CT scan in a tooth that apparently doesn't have any nerve pain currently. (I would never have known! Not even my dentist saw this with traditional x-rays. What the heck!!??) Jennifer and I discussed a treatment plan to address ALL concerns and I just realized, through her help, that the incredibly severe Trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve) pain that had me in tears a few years ago over the course of 3 months that NO DENTIST or root canal specialist could explain and that disappeared just as fast as it appeared. It was highly likely related to the abscess that they discovered last week because of the specialized equipment and overall focus they have on addressing issues from many angles. My body was crying out for help 3 yrs ago after God knows how many years of that infection being there and no one could explain except for this practice. I want to cry.
