It's a bit off the beaten path, as you have to go through a residential area and then past another park/sports complex, but it's worth the drive. The parking area is next to a community recycling center, which I think is appropriate because anything that's returned there isn't getting put in a landfill or thrown out into the wilderness. When you enter the park there is a heavily-treed path you follow to the Visitor's Center. For being located near a large city you'd think that the park would be pretty open...exposed....but that's not the case. This park is SO green and you can't even tell where the Visitor's Center is until you're almost directly in front of it. That Visitor's Center has quite a few displays (plant and animal) for you to peruse before you go out into the wilderness. The part I liked the best was the curved display that looked out onto an area that a variety of birds frequent, along with informational plaques. I could have spent hours in that room alone. The cost to walk the trails is $5 per person. We were advised that we should apply some mosquito repellent because it had rained pretty heavily during the previous couple of days and, as a result, the mosquitoes were pretty thick. Well, I'm here to tell you, "the mosquitoes were pretty thick" doesn't even come close to describing the density of the mosquito population that day. Nowhere Near. What started out as about a 1 1/2 to 2 mile walk turned into a quickly paced just-short-of-a-run 20 minute journey through what I'm going to call the Mosquito Jungle. These little buggers weren't just everywhere, they were EVERYWHERE, including places they shouldn't/didn't have the right /I never gave them permission for. It was crazy. We spent more time swatting these bastages than we did anything else. My wife and I took turns covering each other's back. While we DID apply more than enough repellent, these were the most defiant insects I'd ever seen. They were flocking to us like pre-pubescent teen to a Justin Bieber concert, and all we did was walk through the door. What we were able to see of the nature preserve was beautiful. The trails are very clearly marked and directional signs are never too far out of sight (which came in handy as we tried to frantically find out way back to non-mosquito-infected territory), and the trails themselves were very well maintained. The next time we're in Evansville we plan visiting again (hopefully NOT after a monsoon) so we can take our time to better enjoy the plant and wildlife without being attacked. It really is a beautiful place.

After ripping the manager a new one, I told him to give me the keys to the fucking equipment room - which he did or I would have kicked it in. I setup stations in the arena - think relay + boot camp. I had tried many places before checking here (I didn't realize they did overnight parties) and I found Metro to be the most competitively priced and have the best facility. The lady from Metro who hosted our overnight was fantastic too. She was fun, friendly and welcoming to all our guests. The facility is huge with something to do for everyone! It also was very clean and well laid out. There are many convenient aspects to Metro if you are hosting a party including lockers for your guests, to an ice maker for your party needs, a concession stand open all night for your guests, video arcade games, batting cages,basketball, volleyball and of course their soccer field. If you are going to rent a facility for kids, and you need to have a lot of different activities for them, this is the best place!

The locker rooms are near the pool and there are some lockers outside of the locker room for access by a family/ if you wanted to share a locker with someone. The app is the easy one-stop-shop for most info (including weather delays/ impacts), although the web has some info and printed schedules are available. The facility is clean and, with COVID precautions, temps are taken at the door and masks are required except when strenuous workout is happening (overall folks working out are choosing not to wear a mask) and social distancing is mostly available. I've personally enjoyed the convenience of the location, that the price allows both me and my s/o to enjoy the gym, always having parking, and times of classes -- at this time some classes require you to sign-up ahead (which I like for accountability and scheduling). I would recommend the Downtown YMCA to friends!

Our tickets stated arrive 30 minutes prior and our out passes started at 10:30am. The doors didn't open until 10:30am and it was a mad dash for the doors didn't open. Took us about 20+ minutes to get into arena. After losing 20+ minutes, they cut off the main driver autograph line and pushed people away. If I were Monster Jam, I would never use this venue again. Small arena for trucks and they couldn't do a lot of their stunts because of space. Will never attend another Monster Jam in this arena and do NOT recommend anyone else spending hard earned money to have the venue mis-manage the logistics. Very disappointed and frustrated.

The lanes are tough, so if you want a 300 game, you're gonna have to keep traveling west. They are a challenge for real bowlers, but real bowlers are among a select few who bowls here. This place is relegated to a few sparse leagues for fun and children. Birthday parties are a norm on weekends. However, because they have like 30 or 40 lanes, there is always availability. In other bowling houses in town, league nights leave no room for open bowling. The only new additions come by way of juke box and video games. The bar hold regulars and has cheap prices on corporate brand beers, per the expected. The food is decent, but the appearance of the place makes one a little remiss to order anything that is going to actually go in your mouth. And most importantly, use the bathroom before you come; if it's an absolute emergency, and it will have to be, use the experience to work on the "how long can I hold my breath challenge" while you're in there.
