Great coffee, roasted beautifully and conscientiously sourced from farms they know. They do a great pour over and offer espresso choices too. The atmosphere is very casual and chill. We were here in the fall, but I can see coming in after a great day of sking on Schweitzer. We had the Finca Los Lobos pour over and it was rich, fruity with notes of caramel and chocolate. This place is so sweet! For years I've wanted to open a small coffee joint, a gather place for people to enjoy their coffee and each other. This shop is the model for that. Small town, friendly folks, both behind the counter and enjoying the fresh brew. I started off with an Americano that was lights out. I would put it in the top 5 all time. I believe it was the Head Wall Espresso. Rich crema, bold smooth flavor and a nice sized pour. I loved it so much I bough some espresso beans to take back home with me. Got the Fall Line Espresso and it's great. Not as bold as the Head Wall, but so good. Every time I grind it up and rock out an Aeropress shot, it makes me think of Sandpoint and how badly I want to get back. I will say that Evans Brothers has more options as far as other hot drinks than anyone else in the area. Woah. So good. Espresso is beautifully complex and smooth. Chocolatey notes all over the place. Came in on a rainy day and my mouth couldn't have felt cozier. Just passing through Sandpoint for the first time ever and I grabbed my cappuccino to go and then literally finished it and turned the car around and drove back for a second. Barista was flattered. I drive by here near daily and it always seems busy so I popped in with the wife. Being a roaster I expected to be immediately hit with the aromas of coffee but no, oddly enough it sells like a thrift shop in here. And not the funky, cool, quaint thrift shop. More like the must, old (possibly soiled) crap that should be thrown out but someone is trying to sell. The line is confusing, which is why there is a lengthy sign explaining how to stand in line (odd but true) which is ignored. Staff was friendly and the coffee came out in moderate time. It was cold as we waited. Perhaps if they had a fire going in the stove it would be warmer. The seating is awkward. Benches around the perimeter with tables. Benches are too high for the table while the chairs are too low. Awkward. Just as awkward as the couches and lounge chairs that recline you so far back you end up 12' away from the person sitting across from you, making conversation hard. Not impressed with the coffee. Not terrible but not great. Nor was I impressed with the scone. Feels like this place could be great but it's just not quite there. read more

Your menu was not anywhere to be found (maybe this was a one time thing, but we are not local so we don't know your normal). Asking for clarification just seems typical and definitely shouldn't be something one barista gives a customer rolled eyes towards. My tiny espresso cup is filled with Evans Brothers Single Origin Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, and the taste is smooth, silky, and with the bright hint of berries (I know some people say "orange," but, I say berries, cherries, and it is so good!) And that's the thing about excellent espresso - one small cup, a sip at a delicious sip at a time can be that small luxury that truly makes your day. Oh my Yum! If you like coffee, go here. They offer a variety of milks, I do not recommend the nut blend with a latte. It didn't compliment the espresso well. If you need a milk alternative, go for coconut milk or soy. Their mocha, vanilla latte, spiced mocha, Carmel latte, chocolate milk & latte we're all off the charts!
