Walked in here with my sister who, like me, is an op shop officionado (I bought a true to God Louis Vuitton overnight bag from a SHM shop for $30 the day before!) and when she said to me, "Is this an op shop?" there was an audible huff from the old bird who owned/worked in the shop. My sister greeted her and rather than reply all we heard her say was "Diamonte" (a miniature greyhound believe it or not), "why don't you get back in your bed?" So the dog was worth addressing when we, potential punters, were not. Okay, so we weren't dressed in our Chapel Street best and our bags weren't the top line European designer, but how was she to know we weren't in search of a 2nd hand kit no less than $500 a piece! Then as we walked around the store inspecting things, she was on our heels, rearranging things as we went. This joint is listed as a secondhand shop on Yelp but I think $350 for a used designer dress is a bit of a joke. And $450 for a Prada handbag? I don't care if it is duck egg blue, that is taking the p*** as far as I'm concerned. I left the store bemused that the only stuck up shop person I came across in Chapel Street happened to work in a jumped up op shop. Weird but true.
