Central and Auto Repair is a smaller shop that was immediately responsive to my questions and offered to squeeze the car in to diagnose the problem. The woman that coordinated the service was so helpful, and offered to ask one of the guys in the shop to take my Mom home after she dropped the car off in the morning and pick her up when the repairs were complete. Guys from the shop were kind to my mom when they picked her up and dropped her off. True to her word the service coordinator called near the end of the day, arranged payment over the phon, and rushed the parts picked up and installed-so my Mom could have her car back the same day. I can't find service like this anymore. Thank you! While I hope I won't need to get this part repaired again, I look forward to using your shop in the future and recommending it to others.

Over the past 10 years or so I have brought all of my vehicles to Myers auto... I can't even count…read morethe number of cars to be honest with you... Normally, I have dealt with a service writer named Ben at the Andover location . Ben was always extremely professional, friendly and fair. I have the absolute highest respect for Ben in fact. Unfortunately, I guess he is no longer at the Andover location... In late May of this year I brought in one of my vehicles for a sagging parking brake cable. I told the service writer what the problem was and wanted to know what it would cost to get it fixed. That was it.. I left the car with them and when they contacted me back they had looked at every fluid, filter and tire you could imagine. I only wanted to know about the parking brake cable. I was told it would cost over $500.00 to replace a cable that only cost about $180.00, or I could pay $178.00 to have it zip-tied up to the frame. I said that in that case I would just come pick up the car in that case, but i still owed almost $200 bucks for the 3 minutes it took to zip tie up the cable...I know your time is valuable and I would gladly have paid $178 for your labor to replace the cable but saying that it cost $178.00 to diagnose and zip-tie a sagging cable, which I pointed out in the very beginning?? That is a job I could have done from my own driveway... It seems a bit excessive... Anyway, long story short, I realize I had signed your work order and I was responsible for the bill so I paid it, but I will read the fine print more closely next time.. Nonetheless, This latest experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and in the future I will be taking my 5 different vehicles elsewhere... Thank you for your time and for giving my this chance to air my complaint... I sincerely wish you and service centers continued success, but you have priced me out of your customer pool. I really miss the old service writer (Ben)... I have a feeling the outcome would have been much different. It was great customer service that made me a regular... Times are changing i guess... Good Luck

UPDATE: After posting this review, Will called me from Myer's and wants to have a chance to make…read moresure I'm totally satisfied and have the information I was wanting. Original review: I took my 2005 Pontiac to the West Wichita location for a wheel alignment check. When they said they don't make appointments for alignments because they "want to have plenty of time to spend with the vehicle", I knew where this was going. I dropped the car off in the morning and, by mid-afternoon, they texted me a list of several thousand dollars' worth of recommended repairs, including many things that had nothing to do with the alignment...just normal wear items on a 160K-mile car. They didn't pressure me to have the repairs done, but they recommended not doing the alignment unless one very expensive repair was completed. Ok, now...I have owned this car since it was brand new and it's been very well maintained, it drives straight and tight, and has been extremely reliable; but an old car is naturally going to have wear, I get it. I do appreciate them not just selling me an alignment that wasn't going to last. And I'm not saying their list was inaccurate regarding the worn parts. The thing is, I didn't take the car in for a full upsell appraisal. I took it in for an alignment check. And in the end, they couldn't even provide me with a printout of the current alignment readings! (Did they ever even check the alignment? IDK, there's no record of it). That was very disappointing to me and not what I paid them for.

Do not be fooled by the overwhelmingly positive reviews, these mechanics are either shameless scammers or utterly incompetent. I asked these gentlemen to do a pre-purchase style, all encompassing inspection on my vehicle. The only thing I can lend them credit for is that the inspection itself was seemingly thorough as they provide a report with photos and details about what they looked at and found, but this is where the satisfactory service ends and the cartoonishly greedy and fraudulent, stereotypical scammer mechanic antics begin. - I was charged $200 for the aforementioned inspection after being led to believe it would cost me $182, the least of their crimes. - Quoted $1000 for spark plugs replacement this job is a little more involved for my particular vehicle due to a plenum gasket, but if you're reading this and you don't know anything about cars just know this is a criminally inflated price for a relatively straightforward job - I was offered a "BG Fuel/Air Induction Service" for $230. My car has a port injected engine, not a direct injection engine, making this service entirely unnecessary. Once again if you don't know anything about cars, this is like offering to put sunscreen in your hair to preserve it. Complete nonsense. This offer was either a clear upsell or a display of utter incompetence - They recommended a full cooling system replacement for $570. Despite being the correct color and showing no signs of contamination, the mechanic implicated that the coolant and hoses were degraded and should be replaced - Transmission fluid drain & refill quoted for $288. This one is not as ridiculous as the spark plugs but still an inflated price. - I was quoted $85 dollars for a cabin air filter replacement, which is a $10 part and a 5 minute job. Above are only the most egregious examples of the unreasonably high prices I was quoted for nearly every item. Please note that the vehicle in question is a Toyota and parts are not remotely difficult to source or expensive, nor is most of the maintenance particularly difficult to preform. I took a different car here a few years ago for an inspection and even then they came back with several questionable items, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time. I gained absolute certainty that this establishment is to be avoided after I took my car to a different, reputable mechanic who ended up preforming the actual necessary repairs for a fraction of the cost. If you are unable to take your car literally anywhere else in town, be very cautious and get a second opinion before approving any work here. No clue how they have any loyal customers.
