You'll have to see the pictures to fully appreciate. He explained that gin needs to be served in its own glass, and then you add the appropriate infusion (cucumber, lemon, etc) for exactly two minutes. Then you add the right amount of tonic (and the right kind of tonic) for you, and then one or two ice cubes. Of course all this is better if it's served on a pretty silver tray. The only food we ate here was a yummy chocolate dessert here after our gin one afternoon after a long talk with some other patrons visiting from a small Austrian town. But the food that others were eating looked very good--especially the burgers, which are his main staple. (Side note: there is a another restaurant doing the gin/burgers/cheesecake thing getting lots more hype in a more touristy area. We ate there, too. Spear is much, much, much better in every way.)

It is,…read morein my mind, exactly what a lunch place should be: healthy food in good portions that can be served up quickly and eaten in or taken away. There is a daily choice of soup, eintopf (casserole), quiche and three salads. I am obsessed with their quiche and 2 salad for 5.9euros option. It is always fresh and delicious and served up quickly at the counter. See their Facebook page for their daily menu. Though I haven't tried their coffee, the space is cute and would be a nice place to have a coffee or tea with one of their sweet offerings, as well. I have been here at least 20 times since they opened and have yet to not devour every bite of my meal! Great addition to the neighborhood and Vienna. PS if you are at the Rathaus, it is just a 2 minute walk away from all the hubbub.

The salads seem to be very average. Tuna salad is with lettuce, elbow pasta and some paprika (worth €3,50, but not the full price of €7). I have not tried their curries, juices or desserts and have only done take-away.
