Fun experience! You go up in an elevator (or lift as they call it here) 88 floors to see gorgeous views of Melbourne. You can spend as much time as you'd like walking around and taking pictures from different views and angles. There's also a small outside deck area that you can also take pictures. It's covered and there is a fence. Don't be scared! I paid for the "Edge" experience. It's a "ride" in a glass box where it goes out about 10 feet in the air making you above the city. It was $14 AUD which is about $10 USD. It wasn't worth it at all. You are in the ride for about 5 minutes..maybe less. You can't take your own pictures and the window in front is frosted. The worker said we couldn't see out of it because it was "foggy" outside but if that was the case we wouldn't have been able to see outside of any window within the entire observation deck. When the ride is over, they take pictures of you with their own camera and then if you want it it's an additional fee. Overall, the deck is a great experience for gorgeous views!

We appreciated the awe inspiring views of Melbourne from the observation deck of the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere. Located at Level 88, Eureka Skydeck is Melbourne's attraction. Skydeck 88 is the only observation deck in the world that has the Edge - a glass cube which projects 3 meters out from the building, with us in it. They were extra fees to go into the cube, to watch the movie and also to participate in their virtual reality experience. They were clean restrooms at a snack bar.

It is exactly like every other skydeck in every other major city. But I have to say, looking at Melbourne from this view is unforgettable and I don't regret paying the money to do it. There is a small outdoor area where you can take photos without glare. They also have a green screen section to take your souvenir photo as if you're hanging off the edge. The price is reasonable and I've seen the photographer very patient with the clients, taking as many photos as they wanted. Going during sunset hour is the best time.

Good view, landmarks have a small magnifying lens to point them out, gives a good perspective of the city and has a few other cities/landmarks marked on the glass "The edge" experience requires an additional ticket and they also have the Australian favourite "we'll take your picture and put it in a book on the building for you to buy" Better wear black, if you want to take photos, reflection from the window is a killer!

My cousin and I got the "Sun & Stars" package which allowed us to come back twice in a day (one in the daytime and one in the night time). You get a 360 degree view of Melbourne from the Yarra River to the Rod Laver Arena. You can stay as long as you like and they offer free wifi. They also have various viewfinders positioned all over the floor to pinpoint key landmarks. The entrance fee is pricey (we paid $22 each) but you can't beat the view. It's certainly best view you'll get of the city.

If this had been the first big skyscraper I had gone up, I think it would have been much more epic. Even so, I went on a fabulously sunny day in Melbourne and the view was spectacular! Having just gone to the Willis Tower in Chicago 6 months earlier, the height wasn't as impressive, but it was still a totally awesome way to see Melbourne from above. They have an additional "ride" at the top called the Edge, which is essentially a frosted glass box you get in with a few other people that protrudes out from the side of the building. Once it has gone all the way out, there is dramatic music and the glass clears, revealing the ground a spectacular distance below. It costs extra to do it, although I got my ticket with a different package so I did it for free. I don't think I woud have paid separately for it, but it was cool nonetheless. If you like skyscrapers and want a great view of Melbourne, a visit to the Eureka Skydeck is definitely worth it!

A must do while in Melbourne. Level 88 gives a great 360 degree perspective of Melbourne. The 'Edge' at an extra charge is great fun and a bit scary. If you're going - make sure you get a discount coupon from one of the many City of Melbourne's tourism brochures.

Having already visited the Rialto Towers 10 years ago, I decided to get a new glimpse of Melbourne from the Eureka Skydeck during my most recent trip. Although it's an interesting experience and something every tourist in any major city usually ends up doing, Eureka Skydeck has a fair amount of downsides that make it less favorable to the Rialto Towers. Pros: - It's one of the highest, if not the highest, publicly accessible points in Melbourne, which allows you to get a spectacular view of the city towering above all the buildings. - The telescopes may be limited, but they're all free to enjoy. - There's a coin elongation machine, which is a rarity in this part of the world. For collectors like me, that's definitely something that made me giddy. - Instead of showing where all the points of interest are on a map or diagram, they have "peepholes" that you can look through to see exactly where each attraction is. Pretty cool for those of us who are navigationally challenged. See my picture for reference. Cons: - $18.50 for entrance. To go to a simple observation deck. I understand paying that much for the world famous Empire State Building, Taipei 101, or the Burj Khalifa. But this is just the Eureka Skydeck. It's not THAT impressive to be worth that much. - $12 more just to stand on "The Edge." Sure you're suspended 300 meters above the ground, but it really doesn't look like anything too special. This can easily be skipped, but to each his own. - The windows reflect like crazy. It's almost impossible to get a decent photo of the skyline without getting a bunch of reflections in it. Forget about doing a panorama because it'll just look messy. Your average tourist these days takes a lot of photos, but I guess they never took that into consideration. Like a previous review said, Melbourne a much better view from the ground than from a viewing platform.

If there's a list of "must-dos" for Melbourne, then the Eureka Tower "Skydeck" is definitely on the list. It is a unique experience, one that offers an amazing perspective of Melbourne (and beyond - as far as the eye can see), day or night. High above 88 floors, one can spend hours here just gazing, taking pictures, relaxing and wonder at the world below you. Its $20 for a day ticket, but it is worthwhile paying the extra $2 ($22), to also have access in the evening. You won't be disappointed. The Eureka Tower opens from 10am - 10pm, and if you are coming back in the evening, by about 8pm (in the summer), it's usually already packed with tourists. I liked the fact that as I wandered around, I could hear different languages, like I was some time traveller teleporting to different parts of the world in an instant. The Skydeck, offers 360 degree floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of Melbourne and beyond, and as you move around the room, there are landmark "viewfinders" that tell you exactly what you are seeing. Although the fun is also working it out for yourself. "Oh, look, that's Fed Square!". Taking the elevator to the top of Eureka Tower and coming down is a bit of a novelty. It only takes 30 seconds to get to the 88th floor! If you are brave enough, there's also the Terrace area (no glass), just mesh, and strong winds, to hold you back, from taking some amazing pictures without the reflective glare. The challenge is trying to get your DSLR lens through the mesh, just enough, so you can capture that awe-inspiring image. You don't need to worry about feeling sick either, as there are bathroom facilities in case you get nauseous. The skydeck kiosk will keep you fuelled, with food and drinks on offer, and when you are totally ready to head back down to earth, you can stop by the Skydeck shop to purchase any merchandise and be a legit tourist. The staff at Eureka Tower were very friendly and helpful. Great experience all round.

What a great way to see Melbourne from a whole new level! Going up the elevator (which climbs 9 meters per second up the 88 story tower) a voice over comes on calmly advising you that the swaying you may be experiencing is perfectly normal and that the whole tower sways as a part of its design. Don't worry by the time you reach the top you can't feel it sway anymore Once you reach the summit you are met with a 360° view of melbourne and can wander as quick (or as slow) around the tower to get a birds eye view of the aquarium, the yarra river, etihad stadium...you get to see pretty much all of melbourne from an amazing view point. Oh and if you want time to sit back and enjoy a bevvy, no problems! In the tower they serve food and drinks and have a few small tables overlooking the view. On the windows they have arrows pointing toward unseen destinations with the distance in kilometres which made it even more interesting for me. If you're brave you might want to walk out on to the deck, which is a viewing platform that extends from Eureka with a glass floor (an additional $12 that you pay when you reach the top of you decide that's what you want to do). It's a great way to see Melbourne of you're stopping by.

A great establishment for tourists and locals alike. Especially if landmarks such as Sydney's Centrepoint Tower and Melbourne 360 resonate with you. If you are someone who isn't too afraid of heights; or you appreciate this great city called Melbourne; you will love catching a glimpse of all of Melbourne, a full 360 degree view. Not too sure if Melbourne 360 at the Rialto is still open as it wasn't advertised anywhere. This could explain the abundance of crowds lining up to explore and see Melbourne at the highest vantage point possible. Also the end of the school holidays a couple of days ago as of writing this could also explain the long wait times. Patience is a virtue; and it is worth it; especially looking up at the terrace and just being an observer and looking at Melbourne so high up. The 30 views finders to look at key Melbourne landmarks was a smart experience which added greatly to my time here. The view of Port Phillip bay was striking, and not to mention just breathtaking overall. A great children friendly experience. Might be worthwhile taking my nieces up here when they come down to Melbourne at Christmas time; although I have seen better elsewhere outside of Melbourne.

I have been to the burj, tower of Americas, Empire State, and the space needle. I have to say the moving glass view is a cool addition I must say. You get a great view of the CBD, The water, and a great way to know parts of town from the sky. I like it - better than the view I have now!!
