Locals peddling thier products they have spent hours crafting with love to others in the community. And the city was so supportive of the vendors- the city employees working the event were constantly making rounds insuring everything was going well and the visitors were having a good time. The Mayor even came around and was shaking everyone's hand and taking selfies with the booth vendors. I see you, Mr. Mayor Jim. They had a ton of food and local bands/ performers as well. My favorite was Poly Hwy- go check them out on FB. They were Polynesian and had a very island-y vibe. It was the perfect chill music to have playing while you stroll around. John Tipton was second- dude if you are reading this- that was the best cover of Bad Leroy Brown ever! And all of this was FREE! Silver Dollar Winery was serving up vino- although I wish they would have had the frozen peachy wine slushie- hint hint for next year guys ;). Crazy Cowboy was smoking up a storm and slinging brisket sandwiches and Rahr beer. La Rosita truck was also there in case you had a hankering for a taco. Bedford is a hidden gem guys, real talk. The music was great and everywhere you looked people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was hot out but no one seemed to let the heat dampen their fun. The non food vendors were probably the most interesting to see. There wasn't exactly a pattern in vendor types. They had everything from people selling spice rubs, scentsy, thrift store type clothing, childrens toys, insurance sales, and face painting. It was entertaining to walk by and glance at everything. This is definitely a fun event for groups or couples. If you aren't sitting in the VIP shaded areas, make sure to bring chairs or a blanket to sit on so you aren't stuck standing the entire time.

Lots of sweet trucks (whatsdascoop, cup cakin', short and sweet) and even more savory ones. There we plenty of tables and chairs, as well as the area inside the Ballpark for seating. The location is easy to find on the side of the huge Super H Mart mall. The food vendors really show out, by serving their best dishes. You use credit or cash to by tickets for food purchases. 2 hungry adults can fill up on about 15 tickets total. The tickets are $2 each. A glutton, like me, can expect to spend 15 tickets, alone - to get that warm, comfortable feeling. The atmosphere is happy and vibrant. There is also a stage, with constant music and entertainment. The first time, our GPS said we were 1.4 miles from the entrance... that's how FAR back the line stretched not counting the winding roads after the entrance gate. Traffic management is nonexistent past the gate: no cones, no staff, just cars blocking intersections and nearly colliding in the dark. By the time you finally make it inside, you're shoulder-to-shoulder in a packed crowd, too stressed to enjoy the lights. Save your money and sanity. Go to a haunted house instead. At least the fear and stress there is intentional and a shorter wait time. I won't make the mistake of coming back ever in the future.

I was happy to see Deep Ellum brewery, Community Brewery, Whiterock Brewery, Tupps, and a few others. It was nice to meet the brew masters and learn a little history about each. This is a great events that reminds me of the GABF in Denver. If you haven't been then, I highly suggest you check it out. I never got the chance to try any of the food at the food truck because it was so cold outside and I didn't want to freeze while waiting for my food. I love that they offered free arcade games, however; I had a hard time beating them. They also offered different Uber codes for discounted rides for safe travels to and from the festival.
