There is one porch swing and a shelter filled q picnic tables (both nearby) but neither are situated for close supervision. My girls are both very tall and neither could use the swings by themselves to encourage Independence and the tornado slides were way to high and they were scared to use them. It would be a great park for older kids tho. There is a big field for a game of football or running, tennis courts, a pool and a very nice shelter. Everything is in good condition too.

Here's an unexpected one, a park that would be nearly 4 stars in pretty much any city you picked it…read moreup and plunked it into. This one had a swimming pool attached and if you venture into the bathrooms, which, like the entire building that houses them, is in somewhat urgent need of a renovation, you can get some educational bits as well, such as why the humidity of that part of Nebraska is no good for metal. You can easily see this by noting the rusted metal bits lying on the ground from the stall partitions. No doors, so maybe those rusted away already. Also no sinks, which was obnoxious in an area with toilets. As to the park proper, very good stuff. The metal part was unshaded, which greatly limited its usefulness, but the new modern plastic playground jungle gym thing was very cool. Also tennis and volleyball courts and more education, in seeing the rough native ditch grass overtaking the park lawn. This is ubiquitous in those humid Midwest states, though, so no bother there. I really like what they did with this park and even though we wound up in Ashland through some obscene "guidance" on the part of my kinda sorta navigating wife, this part was more the happier part of that accident.

Sites do not have water or sewer but he park does have a dump as you leave that you can use at no cost. There are spigots around that have potable water to fill your tank if needed. Love this little lake Treasure located just outside Ashland (between Omaha and Lincoln). It's got…read moreamazing primitive tent campgrounds on the lake with wonderful views and relaxing spots. Also has camper spaces. It doesn't get the traffic like big camp grounds in my experience so it's more peaceful and costs significantly less- only $8 for primitive camping ($5 more for vehicle permit if you don't have state park pass). When I was there in May I had the whole camp ground to myself save one other camper on the edge of the park. Camping is self-sign up with slips around park. Has fire pits and wonderful lake with tons of birds and avian wildlife to see and listen too. Hundreds of baby geese. Good fishing and local Dons Bar is the only food stop in Memphis so don't be afraid go on in and try a cheeseburger or fish- the bartenders super friendly-Also get fire wood there too. It isn't a far drive from Omaha- 35minutes if there's no road construction and is better than most campsites in platte or Mahoney. Take a trip there it's worth it!
