I'll have to say that the service wasn't that great, particularly since they didn't mention that…read morethere was more to the taxi number than was actually written on the wall (and they didn't offer to ring one either, despite lots of other pubs I've been to actually offering to do that). The other thing is that the beer selection honestly wasn't all that fantastic, though I suspect that that might have more to do with it being a country pub, with a country style, than anything else. Still, it was okay, just not particularly great.

Absolutely delighted by this place! Went on Tuesday for the $10 steak night. Had a delicious rump…read moresteak with Tasty steamed veggies. Had a choice of chips, potato bake with either salad or veggies and about 5 sauces to choose from (but I was endeavouring to be healthy so I gallantly declined those options). It was really nicely cooked, a little but more cooked than I usually enjoy in a rare steak, but for $10 I was pretty impressed. My mates absolutely loved the Diane and mushroom sauces and said the chips were crunchy and delicious. We then found ourselves involved in a hysterical trivia night, where we all lost something shocking but had great fun trying (don't ever ask us where any mountain ranges are located!). We subsequently moved onto desert and indulged in a tantalising variety of cakes. They each came in massive wedges of deliciousness with pots of both whipped cream and ice-cream on the side. The only negative I can think of is that it's quite chilly inside in winter as it is in an old wool shed (hence the name). The venue itself has a great atmosphere and is all decked out in vintage farming relics with dainty fairy lights twinkling from the wooden beams across the ceiling. All in all we were quite delighted and entranced by a place that, let's be honest, we only visited for the $10 steaks.
