Olympic - Side salad that comes with the moussaka. Nice and tangy to counterbalance the richness.

Tucked away from the old square and the hustle of the main shopping district, Olympic is a decent…read moreplace to grab some Greek food, beer, and enjoy some people watching. That plus the staff here are extremely friendly and they are pretty generous with portion sizes. Had late lunch with my brother here and we enjoyed our food. He had the moussaka (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/fUY_OBBj1LO_Ws0NqXvjMg?select=r-no1g0VDWwNr8cbgy4wFw#tEdTEe_WSVgPaEDsc9mGcA) which was adequately rich and decadent. All the things you expect from the creamy Béchamel sauce of a moussaka... but also served with a generous side of rice, fries, and salad (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/fUY_OBBj1LO_Ws0NqXvjMg?select=r-no1g0VDWwNr8cbgy4wFw#GcdaYAqTcnfRwgm-JtbI3A). I had a seafood salad (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/fUY_OBBj1LO_Ws0NqXvjMg?select=r-no1g0VDWwNr8cbgy4wFw#r-no1g0VDWwNr8cbgy4wFw) which was on the appetizer menu but it's a generous serving of seafood - mussels, shrimp, and calamari that reminds me of a ceviche but a steal at under 5€. A perfect fresh and light snack. Olympia is a decent eatery in Enschede. It's tourist-friendly with a English menu and their prices are fair. Like most places around, they have Dagmenu specials for around 8€ and from what I saw, they were pretty big plates. Coupled with friendly service, Olympia is a charming place to relax and watch the day go by.

A little more expensive than Sirtaki, which is located nearby but still it is pretty darn delicious.read more

The restaurant is in an old country style house (at least that is the style). Went here for dinner. The dining room is cozy and great for small sized dinner parties. They had a special asparagus menu (seasonal) and also a special weekend menu. I order from the a la carte menu. Tried the salad with warm beacon and goat cheese, and a tournedos with a side dish for the main course. The salad was very tasty and well prepared. There was a bit too much goat cheese but other a perfect starter. The tournedos was order medium rare, but came closer to medium. It was served with fried mushrooms and bacon garnish in a red wine sauce. Over all very tasty and a good sized meal. I was very pleased. Has a glass of Santa Rosa Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot with the meal, a suggestion of the waiter. The wine was a great match to the meal. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the service is excellent and the food is great. I would certainly recommend it to others that are in the region.

The place looks very nice and apparently has the reputation of being one of the best restaurants…read morefrom the city. Honestly, I wasn't impressed at all with the food or the service. We were there on a Friday evening for dinner, 8 adults and 1 kid (who fell asleep while waiting for his food). We decided to order the 3 course menu so would be also faster. The appetizer came reasonably fast but for the main course we had to wait for a long time so long that at some point one of us had to go to ask if we were at some point getting the food. The place wasn't that busy so I don't know why it took so long. About the food, the appetizer was tasty but nothing that made me smile. Main course, duck breast..it was dry and boring (it gave me the impression that maybe a sauce was forgotten) laying on a bed of soggy vegetables. As a side dish some potatoes that I would say they came from the bag from a supermarket, those that come with the seasoning ready to warm up!. Finally, the dessert, a ball of ice on top of caramel and a tiramisu that was more cream than tiramisu. Again not impressed! As a conclusion, I don't find the relation between the price and the quality of the food nor their reputation. Not going back for a 2nd chance
